  • That sounds like a great idea! Both of those are a bit difficult for me at the moment, so I started doing walking in place alternating with calf raises and knee raises. If your heart rate is up, and you're feeling the burn, you know it's working!
  • Bump. Trying to keep this on top.
  • Ouch! Hope you get to feeling better soon. To answer your questions, how about stair climbing, step aerobics, squats, or the treadmill?
  • Another 100 steps down. Too bad we can't count sit-ups - I just finished 10 min. of them, and my abs are protesting!
  • I finally had to tell mine to back off. Her "advice" comes in the form of donuts, cheese danish, and those huge bags of peanut M&M's, followed by, "I know you're on a diet, but you'll eat this, because I have it and you want it." I told her she could eat her own garbage, because I was on a mission to eat healthy and get…
  • OMGoodness! I think I just gained 10lbs! Thanks for the recipe!
  • I ended up needing a wheelchair - no cartilage in my hips - and I am hating the pounds I've put on in the past 2 years. Surgery isn't scheduled yet, but I want to get a head start on weight loss so I can get back on my feet faster when it finally happens. I also want to travel and don't want to pay for "extra baggage!"…
  • I'm the 40 something. 5'6" and looking for a support group! :flowerforyou:
  • First thing on the agenda this morning is making almond milk and Ezekiel bread. I'll have to omit the wheat berries, but I think I've got enough beans in the pantry to make some interesting combos! I've got a recipe for bran pancakes, and I'm using Kellogg's All Bran Cereal with extra fiber - 6g of sugar there,…
  • I use http://www.exercisetv.tv/ to get in my exercise. They've got a free 30 day plan that anyone can do - including (and with modifications), me, and I'm in a wheelchair. I am not going to be buying running shoes for some time, and though I have a pair of rockers, I exercise barefooted. If you can talk without gasping for…
  • Baked salmon in a foil with green onions, brown and wild rice, and sliced peaches; oatbran flatbread, and Greek yogurt with raspberries.
  • A skunk with chicken pox.
  •
  • Do you know what the difference is between an elephant and a loaf of bread? If you have to ask, remind me not to send you to the store the next time I need bread.
  • :noway: This is the first WTF I've ever laughed at on here! You had me until "I want my refund back."   If I can get out of my wheelchair to exercise - and that isn't easy, mind you - there is NO excuse why someone who has two good feet can't get them moving! Thanks for the belly laugh!…
  • I upped my intake level of protein to keep the carbs down. I limit bread to low calorie versions, and always eat as close to whole grain as I can find. Proteins fill you up, and fiber takes it out of your system. This sites lists the carbs in vegetables. http://www.lasting-weight-loss.com/low-carb-vegetables.html. Serving…
  • I retired from 25 years in the restaurant industry as both a waitress and a short order cook, and am now an artist. I'd really like to have my own gallery.
  • {{{HUGS}}} I weighed in at 200 lbs before I decided I needed to get serious about losing weight. Never mind the fact that I'm in a wheelchair, and exercise for me can be one of two things: (1) excruciatingly painful, or (2) excruciatingly slow. However, I've managed to lose 10lbs, and I have 55lbs. to go. You can do this!…
  •  Thanks for the laugh!
  • 125 steps today. Updated my ticker.
  • I was just about to post a rant on the very same thing! Every day, I come in under my calorie needs, but I am constantly over my sugar, fat, and sodium. I have one or two cheat days a week, and have been trying to curb that, even though I've been losing weight. Even then, I come in under my calorie count! I do not add oil,…
  • I winced the first time. ROFL now. Sorry and congrats. :flowerforyou:

  • The goal to reach XX is always 5 weeks, even if you've lost weight. I think if we could set a date to reach XX weight on a certain day, we might be more motivated to reach it if we can see it daily. At the moment, the only way you can see your weight loss is when you comment and then check your ticker - provided you have…
  • {{HUGS}} Losing someone is hard, but revenge is sweet. Emotional eating will only hurt you, not him. Run up and down those stairs a few times, have some water or green tea, and get back in bed. Then think about how hot you'll look the next time he sees you because you chose not to drown your sorrows in food.
  • Count me in, please! My other challenge is to step my way to 3 miles by the end of the month. I've been exercising from my wheelchair and have to use the dining table as support, but I need a challenge to help remind me to eat my calories! 7/01- Start Weight: 190 7/08 - 7/15 - 7/21 - 7/28 - 7/31 -
  • THIS! +1
  • Bump! These sound delish!
  • I took a look at your diary and noticed you're over most days on your sodium. I know it's hot and you need sodium if you're sweating a lot, but it does make you retain water. Also, drinking water helps you lose weight, but you don't have to drink so much it makes you feel bloated. One other thing I would do is drop the…
  • Patties or meatballs made with 1 egg white, fat free cottage cheese (1/2 cup per pound of meat), sugar-free seasoning (I use McCormick's Grinders). Brown and add to 2 scrambled egg whites for breakfast. Brown and add to the Dukan pancake. Check out these sites for more recipes: http://www.pierredukandiet.com/…
