1. Forget diets...this is forever so control portion size for what you eat. 2. Exercise at least 4x a week and enjoy it. 3. Remind yourself this is not a punishment, its a way of life so treat yourself (not with food!) 4. Drink plenty of water every day and cut out sodas 5. Log everything- be accountable to yourself.

I was in plateau-mode for just over a month...my solution (sorry it requires patience) is to ignore the scale as you may be losing inches/clothes getting loser etc etc. and persevere through the plateau...you have to believe it will pass and carry on regardless of the scales...I stopped weighing and carried on...eventually…

So, just had to give an update. This is what I tried today: 3 min warm up 30 sec high intensity (187 was my highest and never below 170) 90 sec low intensity (135 was lowest it would go, mainly stayed between 140-155) 3 min cool down 10 reps in total- took 25 mins. Wow! Did feel my chest popping out! HRM told me after that…

I've always read that low intensity is better for fat burning while high intensity improves stamina etc...so my advice would be lower intensity to begin...can anyone else verify at?

Thanks Cooter2533 and 2012x - good to know. @meshashesh20- with such short bursts are you able to bring your heart rate significantly lower before going up again ( even though you don't check it I know)- I thought the point of HIIT was to go very high, en very low? I struggled with that Alternating between 69 and 90 sec…

Alexpapa, those formulas make alot of sense and I will definitely try it that way next time...today I did a 3 min warm up, 60 seconds (what I thought was supposed to be high intensity with my heart rate up to 150-155) followed by 90 seconds of low intensity ( heart rate down to 118)... I did 22 reps which took an hour. Now…

Thanks scottb81 Alexpapa- so the absolute highest I should go would be 145.6 right? I've managed to get to 150 today...so for the high intensity I'll aim for that 145. Right? Thanks for your help guys.

Saved the gym membership money to have a home-gym...one cost FOREVER...not to mention the convenience etc...

Ido same as you...I used to take my heart rate much higher but actually that can also be dangerous, ESP for me since I have exercise-induced urticaria too...anyhow, the fat burning happens in the range that you mention...safer and more successful for fat burning...just think most doctors recommend that walking is the best…

I am proud that I ate a heroes chocolate (48 calories) today without freaking out...I know I have self control now...if that makes sense to anyone?

I used to drink about 6 cans a day while trying to lose weight, then gave it up completely about a month ago...though cant say it's contributed to any real weight loss, it has meant that my water brake has increased effortlessly, I am less hungry and now don't even miss it! Generally it gives me a well-being feeling, and…

Message- even if scales don't shift I know I'm trying and sticking with it..l

I love to add a few slices of Jalapino to my tuna for a kick and some onion...

I have about two glasses with lunch and another two at dinner...my water has substituted my soda's which helps me to 'remember'... Once you get into the habit your body will remind you.

If it seems too good to be true...it almost certainly is...(sorry:cry: ) I had a friend who tried it and one year on hasn't made a difference...no quikc fixes I'm afraid...just plain good eating combined with exercise...need to be patient also...good luck, it will happen if you persevere.

Couldn't have put it better...well said above

Hi, try eating nuts (unsalted), yogurts, fruit...also well done for having breakfast and lunch...now see if you can swap the 'heaviness'...ie breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince (ss) and dinner like a pauper...good luck

Yes-helps me to think before I eat...great way of staying focused

Cut out sodas etc and your water intake will go up...I believe coffee cannot be included as your required water intake...

I quit the diet soda's about two weeks ago now and have more energy, less cravings and generally feel more energetic...I used to get through about 5 200ml cans a day easily, sometimes more and was using it to stop my hunger...of course it was having the opposite affect (unknown to me)...I have found I can now drink water…

4.15 am...I had same problems you describe...no time in day time and then too tired by evening...now I wake 4.15, ( sleep usually by 10pm' sometimes earlier)-am so used to it and love it because it charges me up for my day...also since I've worked hard in the morning I am less likely to sabotage its food later on...works…
