  • I switched to unsweetened tea to help keep some caffeine but lose the sugar. I am trying a paeloish inspired diet and I feel so much better. I also eat fruit for sweet tooth and have found recipes using honey and natural sugars to make homemade snacks without being overly processed.
  • I understand the hypothyroid part. Hashimoto's here. I have 135lbs to lose so as you know probably a slow journey. Feel free to add me as a fiend if you would like to. Good luck and better health.

  • Laura I never got rid of mine and that has been 14 years since last baby lol. Thats why I am here now I want my daughter to have a healthy outlook on life. She is a teen now and it is so amazing how brutal they are about there self image. 10lbs overweight may as well be 100lbs. I just want her to be healthy.
  • I am in love with coconut oil I am following paleoish style. Lots of veggies, some fruit, no grain. My diet is high fat grass fed butter and coconut oil. Lots of energy but not so much pain relief yet. Your post makes me hopeful. NSAIDS have caused a lot of gastro distress lately so trying to avoid as much as possible.…
  • Also going stir crazy staying at home can't wait to get back to work. Depressing for sure.
  • Thanks I am pretty sure going to end up with surgery again. MRI results will determine if surgical or nerve damage. Just hoping to find a way to make the pain better so I can get active again.
  • Gale what kind of pain where you trying to manage with diet. I am having what is now termed chronic pain and I am following a diet very similar to yours. How long before you noticed difference in pain. I just don't like taking medication and would like to lead a more active less pain filled life. Thanks.
  • I have 135lbs to lose. I am trying to do it the old fashioned way however have considered lap band surgery if it doesn't work. So far I have lost 12lbs since first of August 8. Increasing fruit, vegetable, lean proteins and nut intake and only allowing processed foods once a week as a cheat. I have a lot more energy, sleep…
  • I have 135lb to lose so it is going to be a long journey. Always looking for people to share journey with.
  • I have 135lbs to lose if you would like to add me. I am always looking for support.
  • You look amazing thanks for your tip.
  • hey you can add me if you like I have more to lose but need support.
  • Congrats on baby. But remember hormone shifts postpartum also lack of sleep with a new baby can contribute as well. Enjoy your baby cut yourself some slack and make healthier choices less processed foods.
  • Maybe they added the bun already?
  • Thanks everyone. Yes maintaining will be harder. I should just be happy though I do have hashimotos to so that could be why I am losing slower.
  • Good Idea Barry might have to try that to save my sanity lol.
  • I know but once I increased my activity it landed me back on the couch with excruciatingly painful sciatica and spasms. Just frustrated.
  • Just wondering if eating the extra couple of hundred calories a day would make a difference in weight loss speed or not.
  • I set my loss at 2lb a week I am averaging .5-1lb a week. I just thought I would lose closer to the 2lb mark for a couple of weeks with such a large amount to lose. I will take what the scale gives its a matter of lifestyle to get to the goal just would make it easier if it went a little bit faster. I expect it to slow…
  • Trying to move slowly into activity again looking into trying a gym membership with indoor pool and water aerobics. Its 30minutes from home though which makes it tough to go everyday to walk in the pool or to try light water aerobics.
  • 5'7" 266lb trying to get to 150. Need all the support I can get. Add me.
  • Hello everyone. New to the thread good to know there is support for someone needing to lose half their body weight. I am doing well diet wise however my herniated disc is acting up so no activity for now. Not that I was doing marathons before, I had just gotten to point I could walk 30-60minutes at a time without major…
  • Thank you so much. I am allotted 1460 daily but I only eat around 1200-1300 most days. Hoping that is enough of a deficit to elicit weight loss while inactive.
  • I also suffer from Hashimoto's I am fllowing a paleoish style diet low in carbs to help with glucose levels. I eat low fat protien, veggies love the veggies, minimal fruit (glucose again), nuts, seeds, olive and coconut oil. I have more energy rather its due to the diet or just cutting out all the processed foods not sure.…
  • Genetics, age, how long you have been overweight and how you lose the weight can help determine if you have loose skin. I have a lot more to lose thank you. I will probably have loose skin since >100lbs to lose but I will cross that bridge when I get there. To me I would rather be at a healthy weight and cut my risk for…
  • Lean protein, lots of low calorie veggies, some fruit and higher fat through oil. But no processed food so that makes it easier. I guess the amount of veggies keeps me full due to volume compared to processed food. I also weigh and measure everything I eat so should be accurate readings. I have to watch fruit intake though…
  • I don't think I could do 50 carbs or less a day. I am trying to keep my carbs on lower end to help with glucose levels but I can only stay below 90gms a day fitting in lots of fruits and veggies. I would be evil on that many carbs for a long term.

  • Weighing everything and eating paleo diet. So no dairy due to intolerance and no grains. Also hypothyroid so that also impacts it as well. I can't complain about weight loss yet though I have lost 9lbs for the last couple of weeks. Just worried because I didn't do a lot of activity due to disc issue but now afraid I am…
