  • They're handy, but a lot of them are very high in sodium, so watch out for that. I like grilling chicken breasts and adding them to LC entrees with chicken :) That way, I'm just adding chicken into a dish that's made for chicken, so there aren't any conflicting flavors. I need the extra protein since I'm doing weight…
  • Why not focus on getting there (155) first and seeing how you look and feel? If you look and feel great at that weight, no need to lose more. But if you still feel flabby, you could adjust your goal and keep sheddin'. My initial goal was 130... I'm below that number now, but I know I need to lose more until I have a nice,…
  • I'm 5' 1.5" and wore size 16 when I was 186lbs. I have a small frame, though. I just had a LOT of fat on me. I wouldn't rely on the wrist method to determine your frame... It's not like your frame is evenly big/small across your whole body. I have tiny wrists, tiny hips but average ribcage and shoulders.
  • Vanity is definitely a huge factor for me as well. But vanity is not just about appearance; being able to lift heavy is an ego-booster too! I think for many of us, it's hard to truly appreciate health until we find ourselves in SERIOUS, imminent health trouble, like getting a major surgery for a life-threatening…
  • Wise words. If your confidence level is almost entirely dependent on your weight, that's a problem, whether or not you feel confident at the moment.
  • The cardio machine's HRM is there to simply monitor the heart rate. It does not take the heart rate into account when estimating the calorie burn.
  • I was just starting to feel not-too-fat, but then I stopped actively trying to lose weight in order to focus on muscle training. It's been two weeks and I feel fat, despite weighing only half a pound more than I did two weeks ago...
  • I am 5' 1.5". Before... March 2011. Almost 190lbs During... early October After... will be taking that one in a few months :) I'm not there yet!
  • You're doing great. You work hard, so it's not surprising that you're getting these NSVs! Keep up the awesome work :)
  • I don't know if this is what's happening to you, but it does get harder to burn calories as you lose weight. It obviously requires less strength to move a lighter body. Furthermore, let's say you lost 30 pounds, and you wear a 30lbs weighed vest to make up for it... The outcome won't be the same because 30lbs of body fat…
  • You should make your diary public. Some people may catch something that you haven't noticed. I understand the frustration (just came out of a 3 week plateau myself), but giving up is nonsense! Even if you're not losing, that's much better than gaining, right? Ask yourself: do I want to go back to where I was? Lastly,…
  • Buffalo mozzarella (cow milk mozzarella doesn't even compare), EV olive oil. Unfortunately, buffalo mozzarella is hard to come by. :(
  • Plain Greek yogurt. It's weird. I'm seriously addicted to it. For the past 4-5 days especially, I've been consuming close to one entire large container (each container has 4x 227g servings) a day. Healthy as it is, I think I need to cut down a little, maybe down to 2 servings a day instead of 3 or more. As for unhealthy…
  • Very, VERY true!
  • Shaking from low blood sugar could indicate that your body is in blood sugar CRISIS, and needs refueling ASAP. My mom is diabetic and she knows she needs quick sugar fuel when she gets shaky. I'd gotten shaky a couple of times after exercising myself. Upped my calories in response, haven't gotten shaky so far.
  • If you're eating like 400 grams of protein every day, then that can cause problems... Around 1g per lean body mass in pounds is pretty safe, and is recommended by many
  • I'd think that if you were to eat massive quantities of celeries for a while (like, eat next to nothing but celeries), your body would eventually learn how to digest them efficiently, so it might not matter much anyway. One thing is for sure: binging on celeries is MUCH better than binging on potato chips, chocolate, etc.…
  • I'm pro-life but I have seriously considered (and am still considering) going child free for life. For me, it's not the process of pregnancy or childbirth... It's the whole thing of raising your child and making sure he/she becomes a decent human being. That **** is NOT easy, and can go horribly, horribly wrong, as we all…
  • Yes to calorie dense foods. Put EV olive oil on everything, eat nuts, and switch to whole milk/ whole milk products if you're using lowfat/ nonfat.
  • I've had three malamutes, and while there are definitely differences, they are similar enough to huskies for the purpose of this discussion. Like you said, the biggest problem is that the dog will be left alone for hours on a daily basis. All dogs can be destructive when bored, but sledding breeds are particularly…
  • Fresh flowers in wine bottles? What a gentleman of refined taste!
  • Chicken breast (boneless skinless) plain Greek yogurt!!!!!!! I eat it every day without failure. I'm getting to the point where I'm worried if there's any negative side effect to continued massive Greek yogurt consumption.
  • Thanks! I can't do body weight yet, but I am getting pretty close, which is exciting. I will give the pullup a try one of these days
  • Haha, panda bunny! I'm more into BIG cute animals that you can hug, not carry... like my dog! (photo with my cousin) And kittens. They're not big, but their cuteness makes up for what they lack in size! http://thrumyeye.deviantart.com/art/In-our-Hands-142361358
  • I LOVE Grilled Vegetables Mediterranean. I grill up a chicken breast, and eat the GVM as a side. The Beef Merlot was a major disappointment, though.
  • Awesome! I agree, you should post the picture!
  • I think you definitely need more protein. I'd add more protein to both breakfast and lunch. If you don't eat enough protein, chances are you'll lose quite a bit of muscle mass along with the fat! 1g per pound of lean body mass is the general recommendation. Eating more than that won't harm you, either (unless you eat like…
  • Take a look at the Success Stories forum and you will find no shortage of people who dropped 50, 100 or even more pounds! I've lost 55lbs so far myself, and am working to lose at least 17 more. Best of luck to you :flowerforyou:
  • I'm an Asian. I grew up in Korea, the land of plastic surgeries and starvation diet camps. We're not talking about "below 1200 net" starvation... we're talking zero calorie starvation. I've always been overweight. I've also always been extremely independent -- even as a child, I didn't really seek out others' approval. So…
  • When I was heavier, depending on the time of the day, I'd see the shadow of my boobs "poking through" the shadow of my shoulders on the ground. One of my odd NSVs is that I don't see the shadow of my boobs anymore. The silhouette of my shadow no longer shows my boobs, unless I stand sideways. My boobs shrank in proportion…
