It's no secret. It is rather obvious. Your body sees the green shell and is tricked into thinking you are eating vegetables. SO you can have as many green m&ms as you want and your body will just think you are eating green beans all day!

HRM's do not accurately measure calories burned for yoga. Their calorie burned equations are based on steady cardio and, from my understanding, yoga is more similar to strength work. The heat is for flexibility. You do not burn more calories in hot yoga than you would doing the same work in normal temps.

Looking for support....gets mad when not everyone tells her how awesome she is

My dog is named Marty McFly :-) I am thinking about going as Kaylee from Firefly

No excuses! Play around with different veggies or buy a good juicer. Eat more protein. Make meal times fun. Whatever you do, don't come on these boards saying that you "can't" change.

You lost an average of 4.5 lbs per week! That's fantastic! The weight will keep coming off if you eat right :-)

1) Thanks for posting this, OP 2) Thank you peachy for giving us your answers. I do think those sound more reasonable. I met with a *nutritionist* at my doctor’s office and asked her about exercise calories. She at first said not to eat them. However, when discussing how many calories to eat, she said that she normally…

Planks, deadlifts and squats are the best that I have heard of.....though my abs do not look as good as his :blushing:

I like the way you think :-)

FYI, heated yoga burnes no more calories than the same yoga performed in normal temps. It might still be a great work out, but the heat is to increase flexibilty and not calories burned. I think yoga is more similar to strength training than cardio. I also see no problem with it being listed under cardio in MFP since…

I can't find anything to verify this, though I hope it is true. Can you link to any articles? Thanks.

Once again, who said that we shouldn't eat meat? Everyone is saying that you shouldn't eat tortured birds.
-
You are the only one saying not to eat meat in this thread. No one else evem mentioned it. I do not eat factory farmed meat and don't think anyone should. I am that person putting money into local farms. Your welcome.

Wait, the geese don't explode? Well that makes jamming a tube forcefully down their throat fine!

1) He could respect your schedule better 2) Frequent trims do not actually promote faster hair growth

Thank you, Chuck Norris.

I think you need to reevaluate your relationship with food. Eating too little over long term will cause your metabolism to run more efficiently (read: slower) making weight loss in the future even more difficult. In addition, these large deficits created will be eating away at muscle mass, leaving you with a higher body…

Well you get to pay extra money for the liver from a duck that had a feeding tube forced down its throat repeatedly through its short life as more food than the bird wants is shoved into its stomach to fatten the liver. Then as the feeding tube is removed the throat and esophagus is scratched, leading the already abused…

1) Why aren't you eating? 2) Why do you get less than 20g of protein a day? 3) What happens on the days when nothing is logged? Are you fasting? Are you binging and just not logging it? Is it similar to all the other 500 calorie days?

Healthy fats are fine. If most of your fat is coming from fish, lean protein, nuts, olive oil, etc. I wouldn't worry too much about going over. Full fat creamer is not the healthiest fat.

I am not sure where this post says that you cannot ask about personal experiences...... Edited to say: I also enjoy reading other's personal experiences, so we agree about that. However, that is not what the OP and most of the people agreeing with the OP are referring to.

What is so bad about almost a lb a week?
-
Because EVERYTHING you find on MFP is TRUE!

Cut up some zuch and sautee (in nonstick pan with a quick spray of olive oil) with just one or two servings of spicy bbq sauce for ten to twenty minutes. You can also sautee with nothing and toss with a LITTLE bit of feta cheese :-) If you use the spicy bbq, you only need a little bit to get lots of flavor.

It is sad that this seems tame compared to the stories about pit bulls posted on my facebook every day :-( How dare people accuse pit bulls of being the mean ones.

If you have already lost 123 lbs, haven't you already answered your own question? (Congrats BTW)

I always take net calories, though lately I have been avoiding eating more than 50% of my exercise calories back so it doesn't really matter as much for me anymore.
-
I changed my settings so pretty much no alerts about me losing weight or working out or completing food diary are ever posted to my wall. I don't post on any of my friends posts, and they do not have the opportunity to post on mine so I don't feel bad.

If you laid in bed all day, you will still be burning calories. Exercise does not suddenly flip an on switch. The "training zones" are mostly for cardio health as opposed to fat burning (please ignore anything that says fat burning zone...just work out hard and you should be fine) One minute of moderate to intense exercise…

I am not saying I'm the best driver, but if we were grading on a curve, I would get an A
