Nothing much to brag about but I did deadlifts for the first time today....I am in love and pain at the same time  Here's to hoping I can walk tomorrow!

What he said. Also, don't be afraid to ask the staff if you are confused. Machines can cause injury if not used correctly, so you should get instruction if you are unsure, and staff are there to help. Most PFs have free instructions at certain times of the week too.

Because three servings of natural peanut butter is SOOO much food.

One of the main employees at the PF I go to has my membership # memorized, so I don't even have to tell him anymore. He just waves me through  About half the times I go, I will have a tootsie roll before my workout, but will ignore the pizza and bagels. Also, at my PF, the lunk alarm never goes off the first time…

I think this thread was highjacked..... What do you mean gain weight? How much have you gained over what period of time?

The answers are interesting....bumping to read future responses

Ok.....why do you think that? What about my post doesn't make sense? Assuming the estimates are correct (and they might not be) you should eat back exercise calories and still lose your goal weight.
-
Are you getting your calorie burns from the machines or a HRM? Whatever exercise you are more likely to do long term is best for you. I LOVE running on a treadmill with some intense intervals, but everyone will have different opinions.

The good thing about the wagon is that when you fall off, it doesn't keep going with out you while you are trying to get up. It waits for you to stand up, refocus yourself and get back on holding on even tighter since now you know how you fell off to begin with.
-
MFP is set up so that the calorie goal it gives you should allow you to lose weight without any exercise. If you exercise, you are earning yourself more food for the day. I don't eat all my exercise calories, maybe 60 to 70% to allow for any errors in calorie burned estimations.

Losing almost a lb in a week isn't stalling. That is a good loss.

She is just pointing out that the people blaming carbs and sugar are wrong....She thinks that the high calorie intake, not working out, no cardio but walking and lack of weight training is the problem. So you two agree with each other

It's not like they are using it as an excuse not to work out AT ALL. It is a reason for working out indoors.

1)You are not being judgmental. Anyone who says you are is an idiot (that is judgment – see the difference people?) 2)Even if you were being judgmental, no one should care what some random person from the internet cares something as trivial as working out inside or outside. 3)We will have to agree to disagree on the idea…

I like the control the treadmill gives me while I am doing HIIT

Nothing special….just that one picture of myself when I thought I looked cute but I actually looked like a hot mess. One day I will post it here as my before picture :-)

If you are breast feeding, you need to eat a certain amount of calories per day to make sure you still produce milk. Make sure you talk to your doctor about the 1200. Also get your doctor to give you approved exercises you can do. My friend had a c-section 4 weeks ago and all that I know she can do is take her dog for…

I seriously plan on being a full time author someday. I have enough ideas to write a good three novels a year and the business background to make it happen.

At work...bumping to read later :-)

Situational questions are easy. Look at the job description you are interviewing for and they should list out the qualities they are looking for. Then, for each quality listed, think of some example of when you used this skill. (Work examples are best, but examples from normal life also work very well. I am sure any…

It is better than potato chips and worse than broccoli

A lot of the studies I have read saying that the cholesterol in eggs isn't bad for you also say that if you have high cholesterol you shouldn't eat more than one egg a day. I don't know why, but that is what they say. If your cholesterol is fine, I would think two or three eggs a day should be ok.
-
I agree with the above. Don’t stress about your ‘final goal’. Use the goals you have now and when you achieve them (and you WILL achieve them), then you can re-evaluate.

I don’t think I have BED, but I can relate to the feeling. One thing that helps if I am getting an urge to eat something I know I shouldn’t is to go shopping. You don’t have to spend a lot of money…just run out to the local store and buy a new nail polish or something. Come home and do your nails (it is harder to eat with…

I like raw broccoli just fine. I eat about two servings at lunch and lightly dip it in raanch dressing (a mixture of half regular ranch and half fat free) Take one minute to chop up the broccoli the night before and pour out how much dressing you want.

My ring is already too big since I lost weight, and it is very uncomfortable to wear while lifting. I just have to break all the boys' hearts when I tell them I am single

Like the above says, the idea is that on the low intervals you are going at 30% intensity and on the high intervals you are going at 90%. Some days 8mph might be 90% and other days 9mph will be your 90%. You adjust the speeds to get you to those intensity levels, so your body never really gets used to it because you are…

(Quotes from two previous posts where you mention harnesses) Let me clarify: I don't give a rats *kitten* if you use a leash to drag your kid behind you while holding a candy bar in front of them saying "come her boy! come here! good boy!" I do think that you saying that your grandmother had 12 kids supported the very…

So if your grandmother raised 12 kids with no leash, why should someone with only a few kids use one?

I lip sing during cardio....especially intense intervals and when I am doing this I get REALLY into the songs. If it is an angry song, I have this hugely pissed off look and if it is a sad song, I look like I'm about to cry. Shake it Out by Florence + the Machine was getting me going yesterday.
