  • Thats a hard question to answer. I try to get to a spin class 3-4 times a week. Depending on the class, i'll generally burn 500-750 calories according to my HRM depending on class length and intensity. Be aware, i might take 4-5 classes before your butt gets use to the seat.
  • I saw a pretty good article about the pro's and con's of weightloss surgery from a financial perspective. I thought it was pretty good. Personnally, with some hard work and eating right i think anybody should be able to acheive their goals. But if this is something that will save a life, it beats the alternative.…
  • I would agree. Hitting your macros is more important than worring about sugar. Enjoy the smoothie...
  • Try the naked joey at Moes. It's all beans, vegies, and tofu. without cheese, it's under 600 calories.
  • Everyone has their own opinions but i prefer to not use chemical sweeteners. I would offer the follow links about the negative consequences of drinking anything with an artifical sweetener. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-204_162-57593133/artificial-sweeteners-could-lead-to-obesity-diabetes/…
  • I travel a lot for work and i tend to find i eat much better on the road. i get oatmeal from the hotel for breakfast; fruits and vegetables from a supermarket for snacks; most importantly, before going to a restarant know the nutritional info for what you plan on ordering. Once i'm back in my room, i'm to lazy to go out…
  • originality from port colborne ontario, now in north carolina. eh ya'll or ya'll eh, i just can't keep that straight.
  • I travel a lot as well and tend to eat better when traveling then when i am home. I like to get food from highend supermarkets for dinner (green giant steamers, sushi, salads, etc). Publix, Wegmans, Harris Teeter are all great. After dinner, there is nothing in my room to snack on. Breakfast is normally oatmeal and yogurt.…
  • I would recommend exercising as much as you can. As stated earlier, their are cardiovascular benefits. I will normally do about 60-90 minutes per day on the elliptical (except over the last 3 days due to vacation) for 5-6 days per week. Even though i'm 290lbs, my blood pressure is 120/80 and has beem for a while. Also I…
  • Its both. Seeing the numbers go down on the scale means I'm on track but it also feels nice to move in another belt notch every couple weeks as well.
  • I use what the machine calculates for calories burned. It's not as accurate as a HRM, but better than nothing.
  • Hang in there. It gets easier with time. I need to lose about a 100 pounds and so far so good. I'm not a big fan of fasting. Try following MFP's calorie suggestion for each day. Also, if you can't exercise, walk as much as you can. Good luck.
  • I have the same issue when I use the eliptical but i use the amount shown on the machine. MFP has no way of knowing speed or resistance setting. I think the calculator on the machines would be the most accurate.
