That's what I was afraid of - but hoped that my doctor (of all people) would not recommend a fad.

I am in the process of determining if I'm lactose intolerant. I thought I was having issues with my gallbladder, but after they ran a lot of tests, they think it's lactose issues and maybe wheat. So to see if it is, I have to begin a lactose free diet. This is will difficult as I love to have cereal and cheese. I use milk…

Last year our school implemented the "healthier" lunches. The problem is that that changed everything all at once and instead of the kids slowly adjusting, my kids just didn't eat, as well as many other kids. Some of the changes to the food (whole wheat everything or turkey for most meats) the kids thought it all tasted…

Well, as you've seen, I'm doing the New Rules of Lifting for Women and I love it. I have never strength trained before and this fits me really well. Granted I'm only at Stage 1 and it gets more difficult as you go, but I'm looking forward to it. :)

Did Workout 5A tonight. Wow adding that extra rep was tiring. I found I needed the 60 seconds for recovery between reps. I just read, like now while typing, that I've been doing the wrong variation for pushups. I've been doing the girly ones from the knees.....WHAT?? How did I miss that. Oops, well, next work out, maybe…

Well, still moving along. Had to take a couple days off due to some medical issues (unrelated). Which turned into a week off. But started back at it and feels good. I have got to get into recording my weights that I'm using. I continually change them dependent upon the type of lift I'm having to do. Some muscles are…

I'm am doing it at home. I find alternatives to anything that I do not have and it's seems to be working fine so far for me. I've seen several post they are doing it at home as well. I'm in the January start progress group. I like the program.

Thanks for the help. For now I am doing 1500/1800. The book said that you can do a 300 deficit. So, I'm giving it a try.
-
Ok, need some advice. I'm stressing over the calorie intake. So I decided I wanted to keep a deficit because since June I have been keeping my calories down at 1200/1300 and have lost 34lbs. I had 10lbs to get to my goal weight. Started NROL4W last week. Set calories to 1500 and eating back any exercise calories. I have…

Completed week 1, still weighing the whole "how many calories". I've done like most of you. Set MFP to 1500 calories. But have not went over that on workout days. Today however, I went over, and actually got all the protein that I am to eat. I've been stressing over the stupid scale, I know, I know. But it's hard, it has…

This is cracking me up! LOL Thanks for the laughs today. I needed them. Perhaps I shall post one as well later. LOL

Which thread should we be posting in as there is a January progress thread and this January Start thread???? I was posting in the other thread but found more people seem to be posting comments/questions here. I started this week with Stage 1. I have been VERY sore, but pushing through and glad I am! Cardio to come on off…
-
So I am on week one and have completed 2 workouts. I'm VERY sore. Bought my protein shakes last night and vitamins, etc. Hoping the additional protein helps. I have adjusted my calorie intake to 1500 (because I have been at 1200/1300 since I started losing weight). I have set my macros to 40-35-25. I upped my protein to…

Really glad I found this! I started today. However, I'm hesitant on the increase in calories. So I'm going to see how it goes and re-evaluate in a few weeks. Will do my measurements in the morning. :) I have a 10lb loss that I'm will be trying to reach as well as building my muscles and looking great instead of flabby!

Hi my name is Cindy. I just bought the book a week ago and obviously have not finished reading it yet or started the program. I got to the part where he was saying that the 1200-1400 calorie range was starvation, it took me back a bit and I put the book down for awhile. Honestly, it scared me. I've been on MFP since the…

Through one of my children's school field trips, we found Rolling Ridge Farm, Millersburg, OH. They take you on a wagon ride and you get to feed all kinds of animals through some really beautiful scenery. Lots of fun with the kids.

We used to live in Dayton and our favorites when we are there to visit family is Golden Nugget and Marion's Pizza. Golden Nugget's potato soup is amazing and their fish sandwich. We used to eat there all the time when we lived there and when we visit they still know who we are and what we order. Sad, so sad. LOL. Let's…

I only remember that he said there was something in the lemon Joy that stops the itching (he of course used the medical terms of the chemical in the joy and how it worked). It's been about a year ago that he told me that. It did seem to help. Sorry I can't remember the exact terms of how it works. The joke with my family…

Hello, Over the last couple of years I have been getting eczema usually on my legs when it starts getting cold outside. Last winter it spread all over my entire body. Hoping to keep it under control this year. My doctor gave me some anti-itch cream and told me to do the following. Start a warm bath and add 2 inches (of the…

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (Although I love the newer one with Johnny Depp even better) and Goonies. I also love Dirty Dancing (as a teenager) - Nobody puts baby in the corner!

This made me laugh! Awesome that you made him go faster!
