  • Hey there. My name is Leah. I had my VSG back in October of 2018. I did really well and got really close to my goal weight. Then I started Nursing school, COVID hit, and now I've regained almost 50 pounds, which terrifies me. I desperately want to get back on track, so today is a new day and I'm beginning again, again.

  • That is so wonderful to hear! Congratulations! I hope you do something fabulous to celebrate - new shoes, a fancy purse, spa day. It's so encouraging to know that people on MFP don't just lose the weight but keep it off and stay healthy, changing their lives forever. Thank you for sharing.
  • A tire. Seems appropriate :)
  • Congratulations! You've made amazing progress and should take pride in your accomplishment. Keep up the great work.
  • What tremendous progress you've made! Congratulations! Look how far you've come! Keep up the amazing progress and when you get down or sabotage yourself, look at these pictures and everything you've already accomplished. Thank you for sharing this and for helping encourage others like me. It was a great reminder to focus…
  • I have PCOS and while we were able have our first child after only trying for about 8 months, this time around is proving very challenging. It's tough to get pregnant when you're not having periods :/ I wish you the best of luck but try not to stress too much. My Mom is a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner and she has said…
  • I like flavored water, or tea. Maybe fizzy water will help you? For me, nothing is quite as good as a glass of lemonade or iced tea, especially if it's sweetened with Stevia. Keep up the good work!
  • Congratulations! What an amazing transformation. Are you officiating a wedding in that first pic? That is really cool. I've found that for me, my food issues aren't just mental and physical, they're spiritual too. Was the same true for you? How has this life change affected your faith?
  • What a difference! Congratulations - you're past the half-way point in your weight loss journey!
  • All the research is showing, more and more, that diet soda is TERRIBLE for you. Google the most recent studies. I grew up on Diet Coke. LOVED it. Couldn't get enough. But once I learned that it not only tricks you into consuming more calories, but that it breaks down into all these awful things in your body, I switched to…
  • That's awesome! Congratulations!
  • This is amazing and so inspiring. Heck, every story on here is so inspiring. Kudos to all of you. Thank you for reminding us that this is a marathon and not a sprint.
  • Wow! What a transformation. Congratulations! I'm curious, did you have any side effects from such rapid weight loss? Also, from getting most of your nutrients from shakes and bars? You've done a tremendous job. I hope you'll have as much success in your new goals as well!
  • I have practically shouted it from the rooftops. I love having help and encouragement from others and I need the accountability. Additionally, because I've started getting healthy, I have the added bonus that several of my friends are once again actively logging on MFP and working out. And fortunately I have a DH who is…
  • The washing machine.
  • I grew up on Diet Soda and LOVED Diet Coke. But ever since watching "Hungry for Change" on Netflix, I can't drink it anymore. Why would I put that into my body? Also, now that I haven't had any in about 6 weeks, it doesn't even sound good anymore. It's the weirdest thing...
  • - I'm not getting as much rest at night because my husband wants to spend "quality time" with me ;) - I don't get to eat out as much because I've already got healthy food planned for, purchased, and prepared waiting at home for me. - I've got even more friends because I'm a regular at Zumba. - My favorite almost fell off…
  • Congratulations on both your weight loss success and on your pregnancy! It is wonderful that you are not only changing your life but your children's lives as well. Think what a difference it will make for them to grow up healthy, learning good habits from their momma. You go girl!
  • Way to go!
  • Thank you for sharing. I am currently doing C25K and struggling but I'm signed up for the Color Run on September 7th and your story is wonderful motivation. Congratulations on the amazing job you've done!
  • Rapid weight loss can actually exacerbate gallbladder problems and unfortunately, the only treatment is gallbladder removal. You need to go see your doctor. Mine yelled at me for waiting so long and explained how I could have died. They do the surgery laproscopically, the recovery is very quick, and you won't hurt anymore.
  • I second that. I do alternate days. MWF is cardio, TRS is weights. Sometimes I'll throw in a little extra cardio if I have free time but I definitely feel it more when I do.
  • You've had almost no protein or fat in those meals. I would recommend trying to put in both of those. They will help satiate you and keep you full longer. Additionally, make sure you're drinking plenty of water. Also, if you are just beginning this journey and you were eating a lot of sugar, your body will go through…
  • That is terrific! Congratulations!
  • Way to go! Keep up the good work. I LOVE Zumba. It is my favorite way to work out.
  • That is terrific! Way to go you.
  • The national weight control registry is a place where people who have successfully lost and maintained weight loss can go to fill out surveys about what they did and how they did it. There were a few things they consistently did differently. 1. They logged what they ate. 2. They weighed regularly. Not necessarily daily,…
  • Thank you for sharing! You've done a tremendous job and setting your success helps me keep going. Keep it up!
  • I like it because it makes me aware of what I'm putting into my body, so even if I make a bad choice, once I've logged it, I'm much more likely not to do it again. Also, now that I have several personal friends on here, I like the social media aspect. We're able to encourage each other on a day to day basis in a way that…
  • It sounds like you very well may have a condition known as "body dysmorphia." It is often a precursor to more serious conditions including anorexia. You should speak to a therapist and tell them your concerns. And like previous posters said, stay away from Thinspo. That stuff is the devil. Not only does it feed an…
