Thank you for posting your experience! I am hoping it will help me too, since I really can't run until my sciatic nerve and lower back problems resolve (if ever). As a past runner, walking has been really frustrating for me; I don't feel like I'm getting a real workout. So glad to read of your success!

No, I only do one shred workout per day and then try to add in some walking.

CONGRATULATIONS! And I love love love that blue dress. Super cute!

Oprah as part of her audience way back when. She's the only famous person I've actually met and shook hands with. Michael Jordan sitting at an intersection in his car. I wouldn't have known it was him except someone started screaming his name and then I saw his personalized plates. (Air One or something like that...?)…

3 c-sections here and more agreement with the above posters. Walk, don't run. I wouldn't touch ab exercises yet...not to discourage you, but they probably won't make a big difference anyway just yet. You need more time! Get some easy cardio and save the ab work for a little farther down the road. I was in a big hurry with…

I had almost the same thing happen to me at age 38. I have 9 and 7 year olds and was enjoying this stage so much. Love them when they're babies but it can be so hard! So then #3 comes along just after we had sold all our baby equipment and gotten rid of everything. Needless to say, he's a blessing and we love him…

People are probably noticing more than you think, but they're afraid to say something. That's been my experience...being on the "noticing" end...not sure when it's okay to say something because you don't want to imply they looked bad before.
-
Did someone mention this already? That moment in L2 when you're doing those horrible chair squats with a v raise and Jillian says "5 more"...that's when I usually want to throw something at the tv. ;-)
-
You did great! You look like you lost more than 6...must be that good muscle you're building. Thanks for posting. I'm on Day 14. ;-)

I used to make my own Lara bars. I can dig up the recipe if anyone wants. Or it's easy to google and find one because they have so few ingredients.
-
Oh, I see! Sorry I didn't read your first post well. DEFINITELY! You've got to know what you've accomplished. It's a big deal to me when I lose 1 pound. I would have to have that piece of paper too! ;-) I do not know the number for sure. When I weighed in, I asked them not to tell me what it was and that I be able to weigh…
-
Since you asked, no I wouldn't spend $25 to see the number on the doctor's chart. If you already know the number...but I only said no because you asked for what others would do. If it's important to you and motivates you, then go for it!

Just remember that whatever your choice, it doesn't have to be forever. I have lots of friends who have gone onto second careers after being moms at home, have jumped back into their original careers, have gone to school again for something totally different, whatever. IMHO, staying home with the kids if financially…

I am not liking Level 2...it's hard! Level 1 was easy. That's where she hooks you in! ;-) Good luck. Lots of people on here doing 30DS.

I had something similar and went to my doc who did run the EKG (or whatever it is) and all was well. I had elevated BP from having preeclampsia. He prescribed omeprazole which didn't help at all. After a follow-up, he determined it must be costcondritis (where the muscles of your chest are sore/pulled/somehow injured). He…

I'm not a single mom and can't imagine that challenge, but I do have 3 kids and a hubby who works 10 hour days. When he gets home, it's time for him to go to bed because he gets up at 3:00AM. I also work from home 15 hours a week. That doesn't sound like much, but for me it is. I give my 15 month old my full attention when…

Hubby's nickname for me. ;-)

Yes off meds now for about 6 months. I did not hit the weight loss thing though until a couple months ago, so I can't really tell you if it's helped with that. I was nursing a baby up till recently too which usually stalls my weight loss too. But I can tell you that I had A LOT more energy once I got off atenolol. It was a…

I was on bp meds for about a year after having postpartum preeclampsia and my doctor said it would slow weight loss. Especially beta blockers like atenolol which are made for slowing your heart rate. Other bp meds do different tasks. I'd talk to my doctor.

Loved reading your story. You are an inspiration. Way to go!

39 in western WA. Feel free to add! ;-)

I don't log it. My 15-month-old is into pulling everything out of drawers right now and picking all that up feels like it should count for something, but no I still don't. I just set my activity level to lightly active. ;-)
-
I can't run right now, but when I did, I had no pain with Asics and New Balance. Nikes were the worst. I won't ever wear those for running again.

No advice but want you to know I'm in sort of the same boat. Have been bfing my 15 month old all along, but he is self weaning during the daytime, so I cut calories back a little. He's my 3rd and my experience has been to NOT lose weight until they are weaned. I just hang onto every extra bit until they are done. I would…

39 here and trying to lose the "baby weight" I've accumulated over the past 10 years (youngest is 15 months old). We are done and I want my body back. ;-)
-
Yep! I have a 9, 7, and 15 month old. I started progressively heavier with each pregnancy. Now it's time to get rid of it all! ;-)

I recently switched from full fat/full sugar creamer to sugar-free. I don' t love the taste as much, but I am getting used to it. Eventually I'd like to drop that too, but coffee has to be enjoyable for me. Know what I mean? ;-)
-
Feel free to add me. I only have 2 friends. I'm 39. ;-)

I recently replaced my sugary coffee creamer with the sugar free kind and even though I don't like the taste as much, I am craving less sugar the rest of the day. Maybe it's coincidental...I don't know...but I imagine that sugar blast first thing in the morning for me actually makes me crave it more all day.
