  • You're shorting yourself at least 1 month, so yeah I think you can do it. I hope so, because I have the same goal for mid-July! ;-)
  • I'm having a knee problem right now too, but it's not swollen like yours. But the same thing happens with my back whenever I try to run and the doctor told me to walk instead. I didn't like that answer! So I'm trying to strengthen my body right now before trying running again. So I'm sure you know to ice and…
  • I did not see the hateful comments you are talking about, but with all due respect and not knowing this lady on the right and what her personal experiences are, it's alarming to a lot of us who have battled eating disorders. I think that's why that level of thin is thought of as unhealthy. Now maybe she is truly fit and…
  • Wow, great job! I've had 3 c/s -- at 29, 31 and 38. If I hadn't been on this site and seen progress of other mommies like me (a bit older) I would lose hope and quit trying. Thanks for the extra motivation and keep it up!!!
  • I've got a 9-year-old too. No matter what we do, we are going to embarrass them. One way or another!!! ;-) Congrats!
  • You're probably talking about people who go to work, but I workout around 9:00AM when my kids are in school and baby is down for his first nap. The rest of the day is too busy because I work at home and also work at night. Not to mention the kid routine in the evening with homework and other activities. But yeah, I do it…
  • I don't agree that you need to find new friends. Things happen and we have to learn to work together and be patient with each other. Maybe they don't realize they are hurting you. Maybe they think their encouragement to overeat with them is what you want to hear...giving you permission to ease up on your diet. Anyway, I'd…
  • I have back problems too and was told by my doctor that running when it was hurting was no good. I already knew that, but I did try pushing through it a couple of times. Then I tried walking...that hurt too. So now I've been focusing on strengthening my body esp my core before I get out for running again. I'm taking this…
  • I'm a little over 5'7" so I always call myself 5'8" though I'm not quite that. Not to split hairs or anything! ;-) But I felt great at 145-150. I'm shooting for 150 now.
  • No I would not. But congrats on your weight loss!
  • You too! I figure even if we don't see progress on the scale, it's better health and the weight will come off more easily after weaning. ;-)
  • I'm eating my base of 1500 plus most of my exercise calories. I don't step on the scale much (scale phobia -- ha ha), but I do notice myself getting stronger. I've only been back at it seriously for less than 3 weeks though. I've set my goal for July when I have to go to a wedding, so that gives me 4 more months to lose 30…
  • Yes, I too am nursing and am also 5'8". I weigh a bit more than you and have a goal of 150. I started with a base of 1200 calories and added 300 for nursing for a total of 1500. I think it's a lot for nursing, but my babe is 14 months old, so not exactly just depending on breastmilk. I don't really know what the norm is…
  • Great attitude. I have low willpower too and once I've screwed up, I screw up even more. Have a great time!
  • If it were me, I would take a couple of protein bars and an empty water bottle, which you can fill at a water fountain once you pass through security. It's just one day though. Don't stress too much. ;-)
  • "You go, girl!" ... that's what I always think. Or guy for that matter. In fact, the kids sometimes say it with me in the car. We don't yell out the window or anything. That would just be weird. ;-)
  • I guess I'm the odd one out. I bought one and only wore it a couple of times. I hated the feeling of it...maybe you have to stick with it to see results. My OB/GYN told me they don't really do what they claim to do as far as helping your stomach muscles shrink faster. For me it was just too uncomfy with all the other…
  • Not a gym-goer here...workout at home or outdoors. However, in the past I was guilty of dropping kids off at school in my pajamas. That all changed the day I locked myself out (long story...house key had been taken off my key ring for someone to use) and I had to drive to my husband's work in rush hour traffic to get his…
  • What an inspiration! Go hug your mom for me. ;-) And way to go!!!
  • Thank you! I don't have a HRM and don't really plan on getting one right now. That's how I was logging it, so I'm glad to see I was doing it as accurately as I could.
  • Thank you for all the encouragement. I went ahead and did my exercise again today and even made it through the whole thing (a big deal for me)! The soreness went away as I exercised. You know, I quite early the last couple of days to make sure I could take a shower before the baby got up, and I missed the cool down. Big…
  • Well, I should have said I didn't "just" have a baby...he's almost 11 months old. So I'm not really recovering from that anymore. Thanks for the tip. I don't seem to have time for outdoor walking/running because of the temps here right now and needing to take baby along, so it's just a matter of finding another activity…
  • I'm not a morning person anymore because I have an infant who still at 5 months old gets up every few hours at night. I too prefer evening workouts, but they are hit or miss, so I am doing morning workouts during his good nap in the morning. Let me tell ya, I feel stiff, tired, sluggish, all those things, but I'm doing it…
  • Thanks for your reply. Yes, I'm exercising...doing Jillian Michael's workouts and walking when I can. So the losing is happening, but I still weigh more than after my other 2 kids. I added 300 cals for breastfeeding and so far things seem to be going well. I was just curious about the meds. The doctor said weight…
  • Hi! I just did it through: My Home Goals Change Goals Then I manually added 300 calories. Kim
  • I would get permission from whoever bought the land first.
  • Oh, sorry I wasn't trying to make ya drool or give in to temptation. I just thought it was a pretty great alternative to say cookies or other sweets. It took me a good 4 weeks to quit craving lots of sugar every day, but I still must have a little in my life!
  • I want to see the replies to this too. I am always over on my sugar, even on days I eat what I consider healthy. ;-)
  • I say I'm 5'8" but really am just over 5' 71/2" and 126 would be too light for me. I have a medium build. My good weight is around 145. I have been 130 when I struggled with some eating issues, and I'm not about to go there again.
  • Thank you so much! My friend who is training mentioned the sports drinks too. I am still running indoors on the treadmill because I injured myself pretty badly last time I ran outside. So I always have water on hand if needed. I don't like the artificial sweeteners in the sports drinks, but maybe it's the lesser of two…
