Good luck! You can do this! You will be amazed by your results :)
"I purchased some strips for the first time on Amazon today, and I noticed on some of the cheaper brands, reviewers continually stated they were inaccurate. Have you tried a couple different brands?"
I've tried 3 different brands :/

Thank you! I've never done a fat fast before so I might give that a try :)

Hmmm..I never considered the tortillas to be the problem. They have been the one thing constant since I started a year ago and I eat them pretty regularly. You might be right. I guess having another set of eyes to step back and look at the big picture really helps. I am going to cut those out for a few weeks along with the…

Wow! Thanks for taking the time to share so much info - I appreciate that! I will definitely look into the blood ketone strips since I know I'm sticking with this lifestyle for the long haul. As for the products with sugar alcohols, I am aware that they will make some people's blood sugar spike but I've only just started…

No signs of bad breath and I drink about 2 bottles a day (16.9 oz each) so not that much water.

The urine test strips are always negative or only show a trace of ketones.

Thank you! You might be right about the Atkins bars and shakes - I have heard the same thing before. On the other hand, I've only been eating them for a week now out of convenience. The last 12 months I never did and I still couldn't get into ketosis. Very odd...

I've been doing keto for a year now and lost 46 lbs so far - I have another 50 to go. I can't say enough great things about this nutritional lifestyle but I LOVE IT! It's so easy to maintain because you have no cravings. For the most part, I eat 15-20 net carbs per day but sometimes I eat a cheat meal on the weekends. It's…

I agree completely. No need to read into it! A simple answer will suffice :)

My macros are almost the same but I have 75% fat and 20% protein (carbs are the same). I've lost 46 lbs and find it harder and harder now to lose. Initially when I started, I lost alot - very quickly. Now I kill myself to lose a 1 lb a week so I understand your frustration.

I've been in induction for 6 months now. I plan to stay on it until I lose an additional 62 lbs. (I've lost 35 lbs. so far). It can be boring but I try to just find substitutes for things I really enjoy. My biggest life saver has been Mama Lupe's Low Carb Tortillas (3 net carbs). You can buy them on netrition.com. I fry…

10 lbs down in 3 weeks so far. Not as much as I hoped for. I suppose slow & steady wins the race. I hope to reach my goal weight of 135 lbs within the next 12 months. I currently weigh 222 and am 30 years old. I'm looking for friends who are also low carbers as well if anyone is interested. :)

Hello, I just started on Invokana last week. I don't have diabetes but I was prescribed it because it helps with weight loss. Have you had any luck?

Marie's Blue Cheese Yogurt Dressing - 2 tbsp/70 calories It's in the refridgerated area of the produce department. It's AMAZING.

Marie's Blue Cheese Yogurt Dressing - 2 tbsp/70 calories Look for it in the produce department. I pour it on everything - salads, pizza, whatever. DELICIOUS!

Is that a capsule or powder?

AHAHAHAaha. Thata girl!

I prefer Isopure Low Carb protein powder in the dutch chocolate flavor. 50 grams of protein per shake - can't beat that! =)
-
How to Calculate Your Protein Needs: 1. Weight in pounds divided by 2.2 = weight in kg 2. Weight in kg x 0.8-1.8 gm/kg = protein gm I like Isopure Low Carb protein in the dutch chocolate flavor. Runs about $45 for a 3 lb. tub at GNC. It has 50 grams of protein per shake (when mixed with water).
-
I love Isopure! I've only tried the Low Carb in the dutch chocolate flavor. What flavors do you like?

I love Planet Fitness. My #1 recommendation is: Try not to think about it. Be a robot. I wake up every morning at 5:00 and jump out of bed before I have a chance to think about it. Sometimes I''ll drive all the way to the gym and then sit outside contemplating if I want to go in or not. I've backed out maybe once or twice,…

Try Isopure Low Carb or Isopure Zero Carb protein shakes. They are whey based and have 50 grams of protein per serving (12 oz shake made with water). I struggled with protein requirements until I started drinking this. I use the Dutch Chocolate flavor.

Eggs - blah!

I've done WW several times and ended up cancelling every time because I couldn't afford to pay $15.00 per week. I've been doing MFP for over 6 months now and found it to be very effective. I've met lots of people (online) and found them very supportive. Even better, you can search for friends within your perimeters (age,…

I started with a 1200 calorie diet but have since increased it to 1500 calories. I work out 6 days per week. My biggest mistake was I was eating my exercise calories burned - don't do that. You need to create a deficit to lose weight. Only eat your daily calories, not your net calories. Also, make sure you're getting…

Wow... "Circle of Life"...the only thing I remember making out to was my hand or the wall. I was soooo in love with Jonathan Taylor Thomas. I was also like 10. Hehe :-)
-
OMG you're so funny! That cracked me up. I can't believe you said that :-)

I've tried 2 flavors - they were both AWFUL. I had the Iced Latte flavor (tastes like slimy popcorn) and the Chicken Broth (protein would not dissolve and came out chunky). I've tried many, many protein shakes and these were by far the worst 2 I have ever had. Buyer beware!

Thanks - I will check that out today!
