  • Would love to see others information on this. My WLS Doc says I am a good candidate for a Panniculectomy/Trunkplasty
  • Thx everyone. It's actually getting more challenging. Hope to have the strength to get through the Holidays.
  • Thx everyone! You all are so kind! God Bless

  • Yea!! that is awesome! You wont regret it. Follow all pre surgery instructions. It helps your surgery be a success.
  • Thanks everyone. I am feeling the difference already. I am only 100lbs from my goal now. Woohoo!
  • I am taking measurements every first of month. At least you can see more than what the scale says. Congrats on your loss that is great.
  • I have an official weigh in on Sundays. That is when I record my weight loss. But I tend to weigh everyday. Keeps me motivated and accountable.
  • I had RNY 2/2/15 I am 5'5" HW 299 Day of surgery 293 CW 261 Right now I am in a size 26 elastic waist pants and depends on the shirt 2xl or higher
  • Thanks everyone. I took pictures of myself before liquid diet, then before surgery, and then 1 month from surgery. I have lost already several inches and you can see it definitely in my face. So that helped with the feeling of discouragement. If you want to see the difference I posted them in another posting on here.…
  • I drink plain water, crystal light, PowerAde zero, and unfortunately I still have to do protein shakes. I also do popsicles and my new love is Italian ice. I cant drink but a sip or two at a time when drinking with out the nausea. I was told to keep sipping...it is very tough! I am having a difficult time drinking also.
  • Awesome!!! keep it going!!!
  • Thanks everyone. Doing well. Scale has stalled and even gained a little but trying not to be discouraged due to I just go uped my food to eating 8-9 times a day and it is regular food as well as protein shakes. The body has to adjust. But after seeing this picture comparison it definitely makes me smile.
  • Just has RNY last Monday. Love to see pointers. Welcome to the group
  • I Never eat my exercise calories they are never accurate. That's what I do. Good luck
  • Ugh weighed myself this morning I weighed 292lbs. How can you gain 4lbs in a day. Oh well wont weigh myself again till next week. We will see what the scale says.
  • I am with you. My surgery is Feb 2. This is a great question!
  • I'm not a dr but I would be looking for another option. My Dr does not do Lap Band any more due to the complications of it working. He does a lot of revisions to either RNY or VSG. Good luck with everything.
  • Whats the 5 day pouch test?
  • I am right there with you. with only 3 weeks away for me the nerves and anxiety is really building up. I told my regular physician about this when I saw her for my preop surgery physical. I told her I prayed about this surgery and has research this procedure. I am bipolar and is suppose to have a therapist but haven't gone…
  • I am seeing my Bipolar doc on the 14th and we are going to have to talk about the meds. Hoping all will work out I have been on these for quite awhile. I am not seeing a therapist due to the one I was seeing was in a location that gave me a lot of anxiety. Hope to start back up shortly after surgery with someone closer to…
  • Thanks so much for you honesty. Much appreciated. I am having the RNY. I am afraid of my mind. I have Bipolar Disorder and Panic Disorder. So I am afraid what that is going to do with my challenges. Glad your surgery went well, and God Bless
  • Thanks so much for your honesty. I am having the RNY. Love the tips you have given. I tried l finding on facebook but couldn't. Feel free to friend me ( Rachelle Oberjohann Bolling ) on Facebook and if you can please add me to the groups. Thanks!!
  • I am with you girl! I have been going up and down with my decision. My surgery wont be until end of Jan so I have a bit of time to think on it. What I have turned to is my faith. I pray daily about my decision and ask for guidance. He has been showing me the signs of what I should do. I hope you can see your signs also.…
  • I am in same boat wanted the sleeve then they did egd and found many polyps and hiatal hernia and awful GERD. With the risk due to the polyps causing issue with staples causing leakage...I am now on board for the RNY
  • Thanks I did not know how to do that also.
  • kchaki They will be fixing the Hernia at time of surgery. They said that is pretty routine. He said he likes to test GERD patients with EGD to see what he is working with. I had my last pre op appointments yesterday. I do get to see the dietician again at end of month but that is not holding up the scheduling of my…
  • I too am on the same journey as you as for which surgery to do. I also have PCOS and my weight is 290. Even after them telling me I would have no children....God granted me with the gift of 2 children. Truly God's miracle. I was dead set on the VSG but both the surgeon and PCP told me I would have better results with RNY.…
  • I am in the same boat. Was opting for the sleeve but was told due to GERD/Acid Reflux and they found over 100 pylups in my stomach that I now have to do RNY. Not happy but when presented it makes sense. I will be having my surgery this winter.
  • dsjsmom23 May I ask which procedure you went with? I wanted the sleeve but have been discussing with my reg dr and wls dr they both are encouraging me to do the bypass. The reason being I have such a bad case of GERD and they said the sleeve would make it worse also they found over 100 pyllops and the wls dr was afraid of…
