Good luck, I'm sure you'll find the right path for yourself! :-)

My diary is open, but my goals are: F:67% P: 26% C: 7% Careful going too low protein, one really good reason to do keto is to maintain lean muscle mass so you don't end up skinny fat with a unsustainably low BRM. You need enough protein to spare the muscle. Go here: http://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/

They will. Over the last two years of losing weight it finally occurred to me that I needed to change my mindset. I needed to stop itching for it to get over with and enjoy and be proud of what I had accomplished. That's also when I stopped really caring about a goal weight. It's not about weight. It really isn't. It's…

I have the same sense of senselessness! ;-) kristafb: You're feeling better, don't worry, that's most of the battle. Think of the way you eat as a way to feel good and the weight loss as a kind of side effect. That way every day when you feel good you can bask in the success, and just enjoy the side effect as it happens.

Super simple way to start... Set your goals on MFP: Fat: 70% Protein: 25% Carbs: 5% Eat this stuff: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ah8MbmZepQxWdGo4bnB2QmxxMUlmTzZUTXYzMURRLWc#gid=0 Track every single thing you eat using a food scale. Make sure at the end of each day the amount of stuff you ate has pretty…

This might be a useful article: http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat-loss/of-whooshes-and-squishy-fat.html I've had weeks at a time when the scale didn't budge, or crept up before getting back on a nice downward slope. Be patient, trust the process and trust your body. Find the correct macros and stick with them. If you…

Hi and welcome! Feel free to friend me. Keep in mind generally it's a moderate protein, high fat diet, not high protein for ketosis. You might find these links to have helpful information: Basic Info http://www.reddit.com/r/keto/wiki/faq Recipes http://www.reddit.com/r/ketorecipes Macro Calculator…

Everyone is different, some people do well on eating whatever they want but just cutting calories, I end up like this that way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZnB4lL7aMI For me, and I have no idea about you, my appetite is suppressed when I have moderate protein and my cravings are suppressed when I have high fat. When I…

Yup, as far as I can tell it is. I'm pretty much with you, hitting my fat goal is not a problem. Then again, I absolutely love all sorts of high fat things and could happily drink enough heavy whipping cream in one sitting to blow out my entire calorie goal for the day.
-
Feel free to add me. I count my cals, but I'm doing keto. In it to win it!
-
I know myself well enough to know that if I don't keep an eye on my calories I could easily go a few thousand calories over my maintenance calories every day, even on keto. I can't imagine I'm the only one who drinks 50ml of heavy whipping cream with Splenda and thinks "Gosh, I'd sure like to drink the rest of the carton…

I gathered the recipes from another thread and am in the process of trying to build a database. I thought people reading this thread might want the (short) list I have so far: Niccidawn092 2 tablespoons of PB 1 tablespoon coconut oil 1/2 teaspoon of cocoa powder 30g fat, 8g protein, 4 net carbs (author notes: estimated…

Thanks! I wish it allowed me to set my net carb goal in place of my carb goal, but it's definitely a step up from the basics.

Not upset, just trying to pass back the silliness of hyperbole you tried to pass with the cop comment along with the logical fallacy of appeal to authority you attempted to use. It was intended to help you see how ridiculous what you said was. Serious question, do you really not see a difference between noting that someone…
-
Yes, I see myself as a police officer, roaming the web. You win, in no way was your statement about that incredibly concrete and black and white, with massive hyperbole. It was a totally reasonable response to a simple analogy between actions. Of course saying someone is not being nice is a terribly mean and cruel act,…

If I try to subtract fiber I can't really use the MFP amounts for tracking since it would change based on the higher carb allowance. So what I'm considering is just ignoring the trace carbs I get from things like spices and splenda (I can't get many sugar substitutes here, and I'm not sure if Amazon will ship them to an…

So... Breakfast? ;-)

Noting that someone is not saying nice things is not the same as specifically saying mean things to a person. Any more than arresting a person is the same as abducting them. I guess when I see things like "OP, glad this worked for you but I'd personally be the stupidest person on the planet if I ate like that." or posts…

Tell your friend, from me, she's awesome! I hope when I get low enough to really know what I have that I'll be able to be that reasonable.
-
Yet this thread isn't about his whole thing (whatever it is, I'm not involved), it's about a person's diet preference. The claim the person made is that it works for her, and so far I haven't seen anything for sale. Seems like it would be easy enough to just say "Good luck!" instead of "OP, glad this worked for you but I'd…

I think it's a combination. Pinch the skin on your hand, that's how thick skin is. To me it looks like there *will* be loose skin, but there's also fat under there. Either way, great job!! You did a heck of a job on the weight loss and look pretty darn good!

I don't have the time, energy, or inclination to defend my choice of using a low carb diet, so let me just say this goes for me too. To those who feel it's necessary to make snide remarks about someone else's choice instead of just supporting them, I still support your choice even though I've found it doesn't work for me.…

I tried counting calories with more mainstream macros and I personally found it harder. I just find that carbs make me crave more carbs whereas I just generally feel satisfied on a low carb diet. That's not to say I never want a pizza, but I don't read recipes books like novels like I did when I was trying to limit…

Probably about the last 50 - 70 lbs I lost were lost on low carb. So I guess that's around 2 years of low carb experience. I don't count the 50 before that since it was on Medifast and I have no idea if it's high or low carb, but either way it was miserable. Recently I switched up from Dukan (which was the low carb I was…

50 ml of heavy whipping cream and a packet of Splenda. Mid-morning maybe 20g - 30g nuts or seeds. Full 'til lunch.

I lost virtually all my weight so far without counting, but I think the benefits are multiple: 1. Develop real control over your eating 2. Learn what works to keep you full without over eating 3. Experiment with different macro ratios to learn how they impact you 4. Maximize your dieting potential instead of wasting time…

Kinda long. Have you used www.domai.nr to see open names? A couple short, catchy ones: ketocalm.com ketodieter.me My personal favorites: ketosexy.me keto.sexy Just some thoughts.

You. Are. AWESOME!! Thanks so much! :-)

Sounds great to me, except I'd hit 6K calories on the non-fast days. Though it's tempting!

I believe him! I'm doing the same thing except instead of vinegar I went with fats, protein and carbs, and instead of 1 tbsp I went with my macro goals.
