  • Hi all! I'm the OP in this thread, only now I use a different account (http://www.myfitnesspal.com/licoricesquid) Thank you for all the motivation and help/support ALL of you offered! Though I had some ups and downs, my weight loss is pretty steady so far! I always come back here when I need motivation, or for a wake up…
  • I just want to say thank you for all the support I've received on this board. My husband and I are technically still married, however we are still separated. He left the army and stole a lot of money and is now on the run and dealing drugs. I guess karma really found him. I am now living with my boyfriend who loves me for…
  • I'm starting to believe the same thing. He didn't even tell one of the girls he was married. His friends all knew and ENCOURAGED it. It's very hurtful to be called "too fat" and "too ugly." He even said "British accents (I'm british, duh, lol) sounds like a cat dying." Constantly pulling me down. It's really sad. When he…
  • Well, to be fair, we had marriage retreats every month itself. But, all of my husbands friends were the same. It's not who I surrounded myself with but he himself. They would cheat on their own spouses at least once. It was honestly so upsetting. I'm also trying to get back to the UK within the year. :( I just want a fresh…
  • Wow guys. I honestly left for an hour and came back to SO much love and motivation. I love this place. I'm definitely losing the weight for me, and for my own health. The plus is just seeing his face when I'm do much skinnier! His family and I are extremely close (particularly his sister) so being with his family is not…
  • Thanks girls! I definitely will be doing so! For saying he's in the army, he's getting close to being kicked because HE'S gaining weight...! Karma!!! I'm really excited though. It's not just about being healthy anymore. It's about being a gorgeous AND healthy woman!
  • Definitely. I know I'm a mammoth compared to them. I'm not EXTREMELY self conscience, because I know at the end of the day, I'm a beautiful person, BUT, I've had Korean women hit on my husband IN FRONT OF ME, because they think I'm too fat or something. It's upset me so much before. :/
  • Very true. I've done the exact same thing, and it feels horrible. My husband is like "Laura, why are you sweating so much?" and all we've done is walked down steps into the sunlight. :S
  • Really, nattiepeach, because I find these reasons I dislike being overweight more of motivation than anything. In fact, one of the more inspirational things for me was writing this lisr down, because I could take a step back and think "Okay, these are the reasons I'm aiming to lose weight." It's not even necesarrily about…
  • I'm so motivated again. This morning I didn't get up in time to go with my husband (and my husband forgot to wake me, because I sleep through his alarms.) But I went to the gym anyway! Started off small (only 30 mins) but I feel really accomplished. AND, I weighed myself. I thought I was back to where I started (around…
  • Just wanted to say, thanks all for the motivation. I thought I wouldn't be working out today because I woke up late because I couldn't fall asleep, but, I did count calories and watch my eating. Then I thought, "why should I just sit around all day JUST because I didn't wake up?" The house needed a HUGE clean, too. So, I…
  • @Diana: That's a good idea. I'd rather leave Korea looking decent, I don't want my friends and family to be thinking "Wow, she really let go." :/ It's only two months, but I'm sure I can lose the 20 again. Kyle4jem: My siggy states my weight. :) I WAS at 240, lost over 20 lbs. But you're right. Just a matter of controlling…
  • I don't know about you, but I've started preparing myself by writing lists and goals. I wrote out my daily schedule on my whiteboard, in my iphone, and on my facebook. I've also put in the weights I want to be for each week, or my "goals".
  • You guys are right. I keep making excuses for myself. I once read that if we tell ourselves all the time "I'll lose weight" or "I'll quit smoking" and we don't... We begin to not trust ourselves, and when we tell ourselves those things in the future, they hold no weight. I'll go to the gym with my husband, because I need…
  • PCOS here too. And thanks for the Nourished Kitchen link tf1170!
  • I'm really surprised at how many people are keeping this to themselves! I announced it on my facebook a few weeks a go, and got nothing but encouragement. Everyone saw it. Family, friends, and coworkers. Although like many of you I have that one person who I know wants to make this a competition, at the end of the day, I…

  • Thanks for everybody's kind words. I really got my butt into gear, and I'm now down to 218. Half of that weight was lost my counting calories. I was starting to lose 5 lbs a week so I slowed down, I have no real restrictions to my diet besides soda, and on the rare occasions I do have soda, I have diet soda. I know it's…
