@bdchick, it looks like you are having enough fun for all of us. I did enjoy making some holiday treats today, and catching up with a friend. Having to wrap up a school semester, as a teacher, sort of subtracts from a lot of holly jolly, until break!!! :p

It will work, I removed 25 pounds of pudge, after I dislocated my shoulder last February. The pain, swelling and limits do a number on a body. Be patient with yourself!! You can do this.

Self-sabotage is a problem for many. I feel like I "relapse" when I am not handling stressors, my feelings, deeper issues. So, an easy coping mechanism is to eat. I don't think I will learn to maintain a loss, until I stop using food for non-hunger problems.

I wait until December to put my tree up, but I get nervous if I don't have it up by "double digits in December"- haha! I have an artificial tree, and it stays up until late January. I find that it gives me joy through more of the winter that way!!! (You know those cold dreary days, that sort of drag you down? Have done…

You only have to handle one day at a time.....don't look back!!

Today was......Plain Greek yogurt with low sugar strawberry jam and frozen berry medley mixed in. I think plain greek yogurt with mix-ins tastes so much fresher than the convenient tubs I take to work. Small green salad with light ranch. 1 cup of chicken noodle soup. 10 mini pretzels with 10 g cheddar.

It's not consistent. I feel like if I'm taking care of the calories and exercise, I may lose a tiny .3 lb one week, followed by a bigger drop the next week. The trend going downward is all that is important to me.

Yes, "holiday eating" might be a big thing as we look at the entire season....just remember to take it one day at a time. Have the confidence that we have developed tools to be moderate, if we are committed. It's not necessary for me to make all the holiday cookie and candy varieties, but some should be made and savored!!!…

Find a good challenge group on here! It could make all the difference, and doesn't feel like the SAME OLD struggles, when you have a team doing it with you. Good luck!!

Updating lesson plans and checking papers for students. Until I took a break to update my food diary and read forums....hahaha.

Barbeque sauced thin pork chops and baked sweet potatoes.

Wearing a size down in jeans for jeans day at school. Others looked too baggy in the rear.

Don't let them take away your power.....they have nothing on you. It's like playground bullying at the adult level.

That's a tough one. I tell myself that food is not entertainment. So I try to find myself something that is! You have probably heard "If hunger isn't the problem, food is not the answer"--- so sometimes I have to figure out what the real problem is....boredom? Or something I need to talk over with someone? Or something…

Baby steps. Fasting? Well........in my case, for every extreme deprivation, I find myself having an equal and opposite overeating episode. Think it is best not to do anything to lose weight that you can't continue once your numbers are where you want them. All the best!

Congratulations!! Happy Maintaining!!

So, I refuse to join my workplace "biggest loser" contest BUT started back logging, so that I will be a little bit smaller when the "contest" ends.

I try to limit it to 1-2 drinks, and not daily, that's for sure. Rather enjoy red wine, but am happy with one with a dinner. I guess binge eating carbs has been more of a problem with my added weight, rather than the ones I drink. Easier to stay disciplined, when I don't drink at all!!

We usually had meat and potatoes, and bread. AND you had to eat the chicken skin, or sit there until you did. Definitely a clean plate club! I don't remember a lot of vegetables, but I think we must have had some, as we had a huge garden every year. Dad disliked casseroles, so we didn't have those very much. He made a…

For the past decade, it's like I am on a 3 year cycle of "Seriously, have to drop some of this weight!!" So, I lose it, and hold it for a short time, and then regain it. I guess I get careless and lazy.

We have to develop a sense of humor about these things, because humans grow older and develop evidence of it on and in their bodies. You are more than just your physical self!!!

Sedentary, because that is typical for most of your day. Then the vigorous calisthenics will add to your calories that you can consume.

I just finished Midwives awhile back....loved it!!

So sorry for your loss. Do what you can to take care of your health.....spiritually, physically and emotionally.

45 minute walk... free birdsong and sweat in Nebraska today!

That IS the biggest problem for those of us who want to drop weight.......I say, get out of your head with rationalizations, grab some "fake it til you make it" attitude. Let the success, (and maybe redefine what you previously called success?) take you into the next meal/day/challenge!!! For example, I used to be say…

Ready, set, get on a healthy journey!!! Comfort feeding is something I am very familiar with. Next step? Log it all, even when you are overeating. Maybe you could write down what led to to the eating. It will put you in control. It will help you learn what your triggers are. It might help you break the chain.

Because I couldn't imagine life unfolding in the future without him in it. And because I believe that our marriage is a sacrament. (The relationship has not disappointed us for 36 years.)

You've done amazing work!! You keep it going, girl!!
