I'm having trouble knowing what to set for activity level on MFP.

I work in an office and would say I have a sedentary lifestyle. However I do a vigorous calisthenics program (dips, pullups, fan bike etc.) For 30-45 minutes a day 7 days a week.

I am 152lbs, 32 yrs old, and trying to lose 7 pounds. What should I set my activity level to?

Sedentary, because that is typical for most of your day. Then the vigorous calisthenics will add to your calories that you can consume.

None of that is anything to do with your activity setting.

M’y understanding is that there are two schools of thought on this. I think some people calculate their total daily energy expended including exercise and figure out their target calories based on that. Others (including me) calculate their base calorie requirement not including exercise, figure target calories based on that and then subtract exercise calories burned every day from their total consumed in order to get a net calorie number. That approach seems more accurate and intuitive to me, but your mileage may vary. If you follow that approach, you would choose sedentary and then enter your workout in MFP to let it calculate net calories.
