Tri clubs welcome Duathletes especially as they tend to do Duathlons in their "Off Season" Human Race do a lot of Duathlons, and you can fine some on the Triathletes World website I'd highly recommend the off road Duathlons though. Great fun for the none serious competitor (like me)

No, I ummed and arrred about it but with my ankle decided to give it a miss. If I go over on it that'll be me out for most of the year so didn't want to take the risk. Bookham should be good, a few hills on the North Downs but only 10k so hopefully a nice run.

Just added the Bookham 10k a trail run on the North Downs 5th Feb

Ok so I’ve been on the GVT Program for just over three weeks. The result I think have been quite good but I haven’t put on the sort of muscle that some of the articles suggest. This may be due to diet, it may also be that whilst I have worked hard at the tempo of the moves I have been inconsistent. Poliquin does say you…

My gym has bikes and treadmills with VA fitted, It's quite good and you learn a bit about different places. The Los Angeles route is a bit boring, very flat running along Hollywood Boulevard! For Christmas I got some SKINS Base layers

Fish is high in protein and relatively light to eat and low in calories. Steak, obviously very good source but heavier to eat and higher in calories Turkey is a great source and undervalued except at this time of year. There's different types of protein so you should use various sources. Meat, Poultry, Fish & Dairy. Shakes…

Hi I’m Gareth, 46. I have two children a son aged 18 and a daughter aged 7. I was always quite active in my teens and early twenties before breaking my ankle when I was 25. I stopped exercising for about five years before taking up Karate. I did that for 5 years before breaking my Femur in two places and ended up having it…

You haven't stated your goal, but I am assuming you want to build some reasonable muscle, so with that in mind. In terms of building muscle, ignoring your lower body is a cardinal sin. As with all Compound (multi joint) moves Squats and Deadlifts help increase testosterone levels. They also give your Abs the workout you…

I've being doing weoghts for about 7 years, not always to try and bulk as I tend to cycle my training and often have quite high cardio. I have tried Stonglifts in the past but didn't like it. I've done the usual split type regimes and also since the summer - Full body (I've done these on and off for a couple of years.)…

They are the Devil's work, I could happily eat one every day! Managed to have only two so far this year though!

The Venison burger at GBK is great and reasonably heathy. Pizza Express have their legerra range of Pizzas at less than 500 calories but where to eat it depends largely on just how heathy you want to be or if you want to use the evning to treat yourself. Personally I love Nandos but it's not everyone's cup of tea and it…

I use Runkeeper but for hill walking I use Everytrail.

Sorry but I disagree, Subway uses processed meat - high in slat and low in nutrients. Pret is pretty good, I often have the soups (eating Malaysian Chicken as I type) and the sandwiches are made fresh in store. M&S do a range of healthy options particularly if you have a microwave. Boots do some good meal deals but the…

I hope this doesn't come across as arroganr but I don't really need motivatying anymore. I have been on this now for nearly eight years, I have a picture of my fatself in my drawer at work just in case but being fit is just what I do. For instance, tomorrow I'm off to Ireland for a wedding, I could get up at 8 and still…

I got a virtually brand new Garmin 305 from Ebay in February fro £95. I prefer using GPS as I like to compare runs over the same similar route months apart and because I try to run lots of different routes, I find it interesting to look at where I've been especially if I've gone past something of interest

In Groups there's both a London Group and a British Group. Plenty of us Brits there

Runkeeper just added a pedometer to their app. Never used it so it might be pants but probably worth looking at.

I use Torq gel (it's like a yoghurt) and also jelly babies to get the saliva going.

As Crux says, Inov8 are excellent. I use a 12ltr one but Osprey are also very good (but as with inov8 can be pricey with it!) The good thing about inov8 is the hydration pack sits on your hips. I have a camelback which is good butthat is more of an out and out hydration pack.
