Your diary shows you at more than double what your recommended level is. People over do protein all the time because there is a lot of misinformation about how much you actually need. I would ask a doctor to evaluate it if you think there is a problem. If you are taking in enough sugars and fats, then the protein will go…

Some times, as in the case of many of my friends' parents, they require specific medical care and constant medical attention. In such a case, unless you are trained to provide that care or can afford an in home medical provider, I don't see any other option. If it is just a matter of living space, then I would also want my…

The protein in your diet looks fine. You don't want to consume much more than 20g at a time (per meal) or it is generally not absorbed. You aren't doing an excess of muscle building, so you are getting plenty without a supplement.

Your sodium intake is super high. This will cause water retention and "artificial" weight gain. Try to lower it and balance it with potassium.

All artificial sweetners are not created equal (no pun). I have not seen any published research on artificial sweeteners and joint pain. However, Stevia is not "artificial" (another buzz word that has no meaning since almost all of them are plant derivatives), so you might try that. I use it and it works great.

NEVER leave anything left over on a 1200 calorie diet. 1200 calories is the base line for your heart to continue working and your mind to barely survive. Always eat it all.

People are very flip with the word toxins. Honestly, most likely none of you are suffering from heavy metal toxicity and buying an enema or "flush" kit would have no effect. You do store certain chemicals (everything is a chemical, so I hate this word too) in your fat tissue, but you can't really do anything about that.…

High protein foods take longer to digest and generally make you feel full longer. However, there is an art to knowing the difference between being hungry and wanting to eat. Hungry is a physical discomfort. Wanting to eat is a mental reaction. It isn't a "defect" but it isn't actual hunger.

That is a good breakfast, but you don't have to wait an hour and a half. Most food digests within 20 minutes. If you get some cramping then wait a little longer. Otherwise, you are fine.

I don't mean to be argumentative, but faster doesn't mean better. Since 90% of absorption occurs in the small intestine, and the stomach will completely digest either pill long before the pyloric sphincter passes it on to the basic environment at the start of the jejunum, how does dissolving a pill in water show anything…

You could have low blood sugar. You should eat 1200 calories AFTER you eat off your exercise. You are just metabolizing your muscle if you don't.

If your goal is superficial, then you should stop at the weight that is most pleasing to your eye. If your goal is athletic or health based, then you should obtain the weight that maximizes those. A good question to ask is: why did you choose that weight? If it was arbitrary, then you don't have much of a dilemma. If it is…

I'm not sure what this shows. You don't digest things with water. You also absorb most of the nutrients in your small intestine not your stomach. Drop them in pH 2 HCl solution and I bet the results turn out differently.

Setting a time limit for a large volume of weight seems to never work for me.

Two words of advice: 1) Don't sweat it. There is a difference between eating some Birthday cake and your day to day routine. 2) I just watch my portion size. I have a little bit of everything and not a whole lot of anything.

I am totally incapable of working out at the gym. I simply hate it too much to stick to it. I play tennis because it's fun. I walk the marina because I enjoy the atmosphere and love watching the puppies swimming in the dog park. I do yoga because it relaxes me and can be done when it's raining. I also recently started…

My message to all people just starting out is that if you fail at something, don't stop trying. I used to WANT to eat 1700 calories a day. I would fail about every 3 days and eat like ... 2400. The key is don't let those failures define your path. You simply try again fresh everyday until you do it with ease. You will…

195 bpm is the "limit" of what is considered safe.

If you are over 1200 calories, then you can choose not to eat them. It might be a good idea to eat a little bit more with each meal to use some of those calories up. Calories don't all simply make you fat. They run your body, and you need a healthy body to have a thinner body.
-
Your intake should always be over 1200 including making up for working out. If you don't eat 1200 a day after counting in exercise, you will start to cannibalize your own muscle tissue.

A recent article in Nature magazine linked an over consumption of antioxidants to an increase in certain tumor producing pathways. Cellphones do not cause cancer, and there are no reliable studies saying they do. If you overdo anything, even antioxidants, you interfere with your bodies natural desire for homeostasis.…

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that "diet" soda causes such a fuss. There are some very interesting "theories" about it. High Fructose Corn Syrup is hardly proven to be the devil that people claim. The studies are flawed and only vaguely support the hypothesis. The real hypothesis should be that lots of sugar is bad.…

I don't see that you are tracking your sodium / potassium ratio, and I think that would be interesting to see. What I can see looks perfect of course.

Yeah, that function isn't appropriately named. All that it does is show you a summation of the particular day to that point. It's like hitting a "this is what you've won" button.

Lots of Doctor Who fans... that's fantastic. I'm a science nerd (I have a definitive love of biochemistry). I play Magic, WOW, and am an ex EQ player. I clearly like Godzilla movies, and I collect godzilla figures. They adorn my desk and bookshelf.

Water is necessary for the break down of nutrients and is an important factor for living things. You can live for a month without food, but you will die in a few days without water. Sodium does make you retain water and will increase your weight a few lbs over all. Low sodium is good for a number of things, but it is…

It is advisable to get a net intake of at least 1200 calories a day. If you eat 1200 and burn 600 then you only actually took in 600. Your body needs 1200 just to do regular house keeping. If you are eating 1800 and burning 600 then you don't necessarily have to "eat them back," but I would not let your net go below 1200.…

Think of this as a process of learning a new way to eat. It really sounds cliche, but you are learning a new skill. Don't focus on the failures. You will eventually be able to sit down and eat without a seconds thought and make the right choices. It just takes practice like anything else.

I'll be sure to keep in mind what you have seen before I share anything else.
