  • This sounds so good - even at 7 in the morning! I think tonight I'll have a steak "rice" bowl while everyone else has steak & potatoes!
  • I take Vitamin E, Fish Oil, Magnesium, Biotin, Vitamin D, Vitamin C, Beta Carotene, zinc & just started taking Selenium. Many doctors point of view is vitamins don't work and it is indeed "expensive pee", which is understood, especially when it comes from the monetary/financial aspect of it all. I have proof they work in a…
  • @fitphoenix hope your ankle continues to heal and you'll be able to run your 5K! @mari_moulin oh my goodness, he's adorable!! Love his big boy haircut!! I too have been quite preoccupied the last week or so! And yes, summer is approaching quickly, which means school's almost out! I can't believe how quickly this year has…
  • @jdelaroy I can so relate to your day. Yesterday was a disaster. I did NOTHING even remotely productive, but I did eat fairly well. Today HAS to be better. Thank you all for your well wishes concerning my echo. I had it done and I'm happy to report that everything is fine and looks normal. SO back to regularly scheduled…
  • @2020pinktogo Glad to hear about grandma and your NSV! Nice job!! Good Tuesday morning everyone! Today I go to the heart doctor to have an echo! Woo hoo! The better half stayed home to go with me so that's reassuring. I'm still feeling a bit under the weather. My nose was clogged all night and I have some sinus pressure in…
  • @2020pinktogo very sorry to read about your grandmother @lpeltenburg congrats on your run! Very nice! @jdelaroy Nice work this weekend!! Congrats on the 7k! @Lilymay2 :) Good Monday morning everyone! Weekend went well, but been feeling under the weather the last couple days. Probably have what my kids had, I'm just…
  • My day goes something like this: Breakfast: 1 protein (usually an egg - boiled or scrambled), 1-2 fruit servings (usually berries), a yogurt under 100 calories and sometimes a good for you fat like nuts, avocado or granola and sometimes a starch like this morning I had melba toast. Lunch: 1 fruit serving (apple or orange),…
  • @Kenda2427 sounds truly lovely. You're so fortunate to live a life with horses, they're such amazing animals. Yesterday was a great day. A couple times I had to catch myself from eating on auto-pilot. I managed to reel myself in and control my urges and eat according to plan. I'm still not journaling on a regular basis but…
  • Happy May everyone! Nice work yesterday @GrandmaJackie!! Yay is right!! I, unfortunately, have two sick children, one that stayed home and one that actually went to school and then I had to take her medicine. Thank Heavens school is almost out for summer! I kicked it into high gear this weekend. Despite the yucky weather,…
  • A low carb diet is between 10-26% of your daily calories. I do eat fruit carbs, but I eat very little starchy foods. I suppose I eat a moderate carb diet, not technically low. From wikipedia: The term "low-carbohydrate diet" is generally applied to diets that restrict carbohydrates to less than 20% of caloric intake, but…
  • @Gamliela Yes, I think many of us do this. It's almost in comparison to kids cutting themselves nowadays I think. Something that we do to hurt ourselves, although we know better. And after we do it, it's a release, we feel better for a moment, then the reality sets in. It's a very strange situation to say the least.…
  • Hi all! Hoping everyone's doing well, so excited the weekend's here and it's almost the first of the month, that means grocery shopping for me! Been working on my list for the next couple weeks meals. Wednesday afternoon was horrible, I binged like a mad person until I went to bed, but yesterday I managed to recover. I…
  • This is all so relatable. About three nights ago, it started with a cup of popcorn and swirled out of control until I'd eaten six or seven different things - ice cream, fig newtons, pretzels, yogurt, etc., all in like a 20 minute time span?!? It's like I turn into something that has no off button, no self control, no…
  • Yes, been eating low carb for a little over 3 years now. Has made a huge difference!
  • It's almost 2 p.m. and I have absolutely NO idea where the day went! I haven't done a thing but make some phone calls. @mari_moulin really no reason for me to but just for the sake of saying so, I'm with everyone else here. Put yourself first in this instance. Don't let anyone take advantage of your kindness and…
  • Happy Monday everyone! @danelutza19 I am right there with you with shark week. Really just not feeling it today. Thankfully it is beautiful here too, so I'm doing my best not to be a complete slug. The last I posted was Friday, yikes - the weekends go by so quickly! I did everything I set out to do Friday, EXCEPT make good…
  • @jdelaroy omgosh, I'm so very sorry to hear about your uncle. And sorry too about the BF being a jerk. That's no good. Hold steady though, you've got this, all adversity helps us grow. <3 Yesterday's goals were: 1. Write my food down on PAPER and eat accordingly - did fairly well with this until the end of the day 2. Drink…
  • @mari_moulin I can completely understand your stress. But I have to agree with @jdelaroy, try to focus on making yourself stronger both body and soul. This too shall pass, hang in there. I managed to get this in under the gun!
  • I love that idea, it does seem to make things flow a bit smoother! And roller skating, that sounds like such fun. I'd love to do it again, but I'm afraid I'd bust my you know what! LOL @2020pinktogo glad your grandma made it out of surgery ok, hopefully she'll be kind to your mother and the rest of the family So…
  • @kimmysue100 welcome! Glad you're giving this a shot, every little bit of motivation and support helps tremendously! Good evening everyone! Didn't have a chance to write this morning, but yesterday I met all of my goals except #6. walking the neighborhood (3 of us biked instead) and #8 I fell asleep before I could read…
  • Yesterday I completed all the goals I set for myself! That definitely motivates! Today's gonna be great! Day 1 Goals: 1. Log my meals and eat accordingly 2. Drink 6 glasses of water 3. Take my vitamins 4. Get in at least 30 minutes of exercise 5. Journal 6. Finish the laundry! 7. Health food store! Day 2 Goals: 1. Log my…
  • @SingRunTing Congratulations on your beautiful baby, you look fabulous! @RaeBeeBaby Happy Birthday to you! This is my first challenge in this group and I'm really looking forward to it. I ate with abandon yesterday and today I feel like yuck. Actually, the last 3 weeks have been somewhat strenuous for me so I've eaten my…
  • Delicacy
  • Here as well, eager to begin! I need this so desperately (and some sticktoitiveness wouldn't hurt either!) Good luck everyone!
  • "Rice Bowls", I usually use riced cauliflower in place of rice or potatoes! I put light butter and fat free cheese on mine and eat that with whatever protein we're having for dinner. I really don't miss the carbs that make me sleepy after dinner!
  • Used to be Jack Daniels & crystal light, but now - only wine.
  • Starting weight : 149.4 Current weight : 149.4 November goal : 7.5 (averaging 23 lbs. by the end of February) Ultimate goal : 126 lbs. 4th : 150.7 (grrrr, not gonna happen if something doesn't change!) 10th :147.6 (away from the scale on the 11th) 18th :145.5 (only 3.6 lbs. to go this month!) 25th :145.6 (oh well, not too…
  • I smoked 1-2 packs a day for almost 20 years, but I was also morbidly obese. My advice to you would be to stop smoking. I know much easier said than done. The level of fitness you receive by working out, can be quickly negated by smoking. You're working out to be fit, healthier and live longer (I would assume) but you're…
  • Portion control and limit the carbs. I've realized that the reason people want to sleep after Thanksgiving dinner is not because of the tryptophan, it's because EVERYTHING is a carb. Drink a couple glasses of water before you eat, try to eat the most "plain" of the food (turkey & salad), and then have only a small spoonful…
  • I'll go with free spirited eating - whatever and whenever I want. Now eating is a process and not as automatic. I miss the not worrying what the gain will look like when I weigh. I do miss the padding too. Sitting on a wood chair, sleeping on my side...my knees, hips, butt bone, all much more uncomfortable than I remember.
