Sounds like a great weekend! I'm so sorry about the loss of your baby. I can't imagine the grief. Good for you for making your health a priority again! You're going to do great!

Words for 2019: Accountability/Vulnerabiltiy: This was lacking in my earlier attempts at weight loss, so I'm all in for accountability. I also added vulnerability because I realize I can't be fully held accountable if I'm not vulnerable. Vulnerability is especially hard for me. So... I started an instagram for my journey…

Username: kem316 Weighin day: Monday Previous weight: 257 lbs Current weight: 252.6 Intro: Hi! Im Katie and this is my first month on a team. I started my journey on November 29 and haven't looked back. I joined a gym 3 weeks ago and it is my personal goal to get a workout 5 days/week for 30 minutes each time. Every time I…

We have almost exactly the same stats! I most recently started at 265 (275 at my highest last year), now 255. Right now my goal is below 200lbs. I will reassess where I want to be then. Adding you!

You look awesome!

I have written down all my motivations and advantages for weight loss and living a healthier lifestyle and look at that list at least once a day. I also write down all the positives I notice along the way since starting my journey and look at those when I need to. It's really helpful for staying the course.

Its hard to watch for sure, but you have to realize that people are on their own journeys and timelines and there is nothing you can do to change that. THEY have to decide to change their habits and behaviors just like you decided to change. Being on the other side, it is hard not judge for sure. I don't think its wrong to…

Hey! You pretty much just wrote my story! I've been reading Beck's Diet Solution. Its been really helpful for the emotional/mental side of things and now I'm realizing why I've tried and failed so many times before. This is definitely a big undertaking but you CAN do it.

Added you!

I'm sorry about your dad. Taking care of a family member that is sick/dying is a lot. I'm glad you were able to take time for you to just deal with your dad's passing. That's not something you should feel bad about. Be kind to yourself in this period and you're going to do great getting back into it!

Right there with you. Since committing to eating healthier and dropping 20 pounds I feel a lot better mood and energy-wise. It gets better, just be kind to yourself and make your health your priority.

Add me please! I need support, thanks!

That's really hard! Maybe try only one or 2 servings of those higher carb veggies a day and focus on getting lower carb veggies the rest of the time? Green leafy veggies (kale, spinach) tend to be lower in carbs. 50 g of carbs is not a lot, so I understand your frustration.

For sure! I've tried making changes so many times, and I'm now just realizing that the reason I've failed in the past is because I refused to acknowledge that I need support and accountability. Stubborn pride! I have 3 girls (8, 6, and 2) and they are my biggest motivators to making a healthy lifestyle change.…

Wow, thanks for letting me know about this. I'll check it out!

Congratulations on your weight loss in the first place, that's a big accomplishment! One thing I've learned is that its never too late to make changes and stop the gain. I often get in the way of myself and my head fills with self-defeating thoughts, which in turn drives me to make even more bad choices. Be positive and…

I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter. I can't imagine a loss like that. I'm also looking to participate more in this community as I work towards healthier habits and wish you luck in your goals and continued healing. This place seems great for support and encouragement.

I'm right there with you! I've tried every diet out there. No carb, low carb, low fat, gluten-free, sugar-free, etc. I couldn't stick to anything long term because I finally gave into cravings at some point and got tired of depriving myself. Now, nothing is off limits. If I want something, I eat it. I just make sure its in…

Add me! I have about 80-90 more lbs to lose. Would love to have more friends!

I'm sure you've heard it before, but since you put it out there, I have to say it...this ^ is insane. There is a big difference between eating 900 calories for a day or so and eating 900 calories everyday. This is not healthy. You are destroying your body.

But isn't exercising more "punishing your body"? It's essentially creating the deficit in a different way
