We do turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, corn, and dinner rolls. I've never had green bean casserole or yams/sweet potato casserole and I'm from the Midwest (funny what is so traditional to some people and so not traditional to others!). Dessert is apple pie and/or pumpkin pie. For Christmas, we mix it up…

I am 5' 6.5", and at my largest I was 164 pounds and a size 10 or 12 depending on the brand (I only had a couple 12s....but that was my rock bottom, having to purchase that size at all!!). I am currently 141-ish, and am wearing a size 4 or 6 depending on the brand. Like others have said, vanity sizing is a real thing!

It takes a lot for me. I started off at 5'6.5", 164 lbs. I am currently 137. Just this morning two coworkers FINALLY acknowledged I looked good/had lost weight (one even said "skinny"). So that's about 27 pounds before anyone said anything! Like others have said, I think it depends on where you start and how you carry…

Do you have dumbbells or anything you know the real weight of that you can try weighing? I did that after my first weigh-in said I lost 5.6 pounds. I only have about 30 to lose and had never lost that much before, so I thought the scale was wrong. But I weighed two 8-pound dumbbells and it said 16 pounds exactly, so I just…

My coworker lost more than 50+ pounds doing the Seattle Sutton plan (not sure if it's just a MN thing?). It's not nearly this bad, as he had fresh meals every day (not frozen, and full meals). But, of course he just ate what they gave him and never learned to figure out portion size, etc. He lost all the weight, but…

If you have a Keurig, I love the Gevalia Mocha Lattes. It's 80 calories and delicious! I don't have to add cream, sugar or anything to it, so it's not so bad at 80 cals to get a latte taste. But when I drink a regular K-cup, I don't have a problem using 3 tablespoons of creamer at 105 calories! I just budget for it because…

I am 5'6" and started at 163.8, currently 144.8. My goal weight is around 130, but if I keep losing and go into the 120s, I'd like to see what I look like there. The lowest I've been ever is 132-ish, and I was still kind of chubby looking around the middle, so I'm pretty sure with my small bones/frame I can go into the…

And I'm taller than you but weigh less and also have to lose a lot (like 20 lbs) to truly drop a size or have people say anything. I'm 5'6.5", started at 163.8 and am now 147. My pants are looser, but I know from the past that I need to drop A LOT to make a difference visually or clothing wise. I think it depends on where…

I have a coworker who is constantly jumping from fad to fad, and talks about it INCESSANTLY. It is so. annoying. First she was doing a juice cleanse, and whining about it non-stop. The next week she was back to eating junk food. The following week she's on the 21-day Fix, and we had to hear all about her workouts and her…

Why not finish one and then try the other?? It will only be a good thing (i.e., more results), and then you can compare for yourself!

So I guess I am lightly active then. I read your posts and figured about 1.375, and after the math with a 15% cut leaving me 1685. I think tonight, though, I will take the time to measure and fill out your spreadsheet. Thanks for the help all!

I just finished day 3 of week 2 tonight! I am doing it 6 days a week. I previously just finished Body Revolution, so this is a nice change of pace. I love how fast it goes!
-
Great job! That is a significant change in only a month!

Just remember: everyone starts somewhere. When you're just starting off, the goal can look so far away. I am only trying to lose 30 pounds or so, but even for me, when I began it just seemed like I would never get there. Well, three months later I am down almost 20 pounds and getting closer everyday. I can tell you that…

Wow, that's AWESOME you can use such heavy weights! I'm onto Ripped in 30 now and am still using the 3s occasionally! Go you! :)
-
Thanks so much, everyone!

For the most part, even all the women wear loose clothes. So, I was trying to be nice about it....but really, I wouldn't suggest wearing running tights. Triathlete or not. :)
-
I would wear looser clothes. Nylon pants and a tshirt, something like that. It's not about form like a barre class or something where the instructor really needs to see your body. Honestly, I think you would stand out in a bad way in running tights, BUT if that's what you're comfortable in and want to wear, go for it. But…

Thank you, All4Tris!

For what it's worth, in Phase 3, when my calorie counts were much higher and I had several days of holiday parties and meals, I lost a lot more! I think eating more to fuel your body is definitely the way to go. When I ate less I lost a lot less.
-
Thanks for recommendation! I will definitely try that one out. Like I said, her workout style really works for me, and I think that's half the battle! I'm looking forward to trying out the Ripped in 30 tonight.
-
Wow, that's great! The first two months I lost just under 5 pounds in each of the 4 weeks so 6 in 3 weeks is incredible! Stick with it!

I am a terrible cook, so no, I don't really have anything to share! I just ate what I always ate (for the most part...I did give up Ben & Jerrys!), but watched my portions. Jillian's workouts really work for me, so I would definitely give them a shot! For me, I hate working out, and the biggest thing is I get SO bored.…

Definitely take pictures. Even though I'd take measurements and see the numbers go down, and even though my clothes were fitting better, looking in the mirror each day I'd think, "I still look the same!" But the pictures totally tell a different story. It really helps you to see your true progress. Good luck!

Thank you, everyone! I really appreciate the nice words. It is scary posting those photos!! :)

You know, I really had hardly any upper body strength (I can do squats and leg exercises all day long but the arms...not so much), so I used 3s and 5s until sometime in phase 2 when I felt strong enough to buy 8s. But even in phase 3 there were some things I used my 3s and 5s for. I'd say go as heavy as you can! If you can…

I'm 5'6" and started off in October at almost the same weight as you (164). I am down 17 pounds and it's come off steadily. I eat around 1500-1600 and workout 30 minutes 5-6 days a week. It's really not that hard! I eat carbs, sugar, etc.; I just measure and log and it's working. Good luck! Start today; in 3 months when…

You look STUNNING! Congratulations!

I just got a HRM and am almost done with Body Revolution, but in the last phase I burned about 250-300. The cardio was the most at 315 or something, but workouts 9-12 were always under 300. It doesn't burn a lot, but it's a great workout. For reference, I am 5'6.5" and about 146 right now. Someone who weighs more than me…

I am just about 5'7", and at my highest at the beginning of October I was 164 (that pains me to type that...can't believe I let myself get so big!). Since early October I've lost about 17 pounds and am currently around 146. My goal weight is somewhere around 135, but I'll have to see when I get there. The number doesn't…
