Bothell - anyone on here welcome to add me! Love having friends that share the same time zone ...and weather :) Not saying I don't like friends from other places... :)

there's lots of discussion / debate if swimming is a great weight loss exercise. Nobody disagrees that it's a great full body cardio and resistance exercise, ..but for weight loss... it probably depends on the person. Many people tend to overeat after swimming cause you're starved. Women seem to hold onto fat differently…

To each their own. If your doctor doesn't have concerns, then you shouldn't either. My resting heart rate is around 70 ... when i'm doing sprint drills.. to the point where I'm sucking in air like there's none left... my heart rate is breaking 180 ...

meh ... shrug it off and move on. You didn't get overweight from 1 day of eating poorly so you shouldn't stress about having a cheat day. It'll only affect you in a negative way if you want it to. Pat yourself on the back for what you've already accomplished and tomorrow you get back on the saddle. No need to beat yourself…

Costco's house brand organic is awesome and take everything from mark's daily apple with a grain of salt. Keep in mind the driver of that entire site is to make money

^^this is a big part of it...how you carry yourself. If you glow with confidence, people will pick that up and interact with you differently than if you carry around a negative aura. Case in point... there are a lot of heavy set people who are well respected .... oprah?

I think they're against your lifestyle change because it just exposes what they know is not healthy and they're having a hard time facing that truth. They don't want to change so they pressure you to not change cause it reinforces what they're doing is okay. With you breaking away and changing, ..they're afraid others will…

I say do both. I've done the other two options before and now I'm doing both. I did 1.5 years of JUST cardio ... I lost 40 lbs ... but lost any muscle definition and it didn't look good. I felt skinny, but weak. Gained it all back over the next few years. Couple years ago I did JUST strength training for 16 months. Almost…

I do these things called Good Mornings ... and I've never seen anyone else do them. they work your lower back, your butt and your hammies. here's a how-to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iycq-kJann0 I see the pullovers sometimes...I do them sometimes. While not strength training...I rarely see people jump rope. I do it in…

^^ This is correct. HRM's algorithm to calculate calories burned assumes steady state cardio. Weight lifting introduces another variable (something like elevated blood pressure) into the mix and that will throw off the HRM.

10 calories a minute for fairly moderate exercise seems to be my normal. If I go all out for 15 minutes .. 268 seems possible. Did you start the HRM at the same time you started the workout and stopped the HRM right when you finished? I usually let my hrm keep counting till my heart rate is back down to resting heart rate.

damn that's hot.

2 to 3 sets of 12-20 reps ..if you're getting up into the 20 reps and you're able to do this for 3 sets... the weight isn't challenging enough. A very popular book for women and weight lifting is New Rules of Lifting for Women.…

as already said, make each stroke count. for swim routines ... check this site out http://www.swimplan.com puts together a swim workout for you. backstroke for me is no break....yes I get to breath as much as I can, but for some reason i get more tired doing back than free. ejoy...what's your pace for the 10x50's? ... more…

remember those girls are in mid-flex. Bet you relaxed they look super toned and hot. OP ... there's nothing wrong with wanting to be buff. Perhaps your bf is worried you'll be stronger than him!

What body fat % are you now? 6' tall male at only 152 lbs is quite low already ...in my opinion. I'm 6' tall as well. If you've had trouble losing those last few kilos/lbs, ... are you doing any exercise to help? diet alone will get you far, but exercise is important too. and how are you measuring your body fat % now?

mind over matter riz. So you had a few not-so-great days... oh well. brush it off. Get back on the saddle and move on. Google images of biryani look absolutely amazing...when that happens...just don't eat a ton. If you're gonna eat the less than ideal stuff, ... then portion control is your friend. I think you know all…

yeah i don't think i've cut anything out entirely ... but i've significantly reduced a lot. I love fries, but now it's on the rare occasion .... I had burgers at least once or twice a week at one time ... I've had 1 burger since new years. I love ice cream ... I think I've had one bowl in the last 2 months. I'm trying to…

The stupid lady that nearly t-boned me in a parking lot ...I drive a mini-van that isn't mini in any sense, the only reason you didn't see me is cause you didn't bother to look.. >SMACK< ......no wait >PUNCH<

jimmy johns > subway but if there isn't a JJ nearby, I usually go for Turkey on wheat, light lettuce, all the veggies, avo, .....maybe cheese/light mayo if i need the extra calories.

I did about 15 months of nothing but strength training ... practically zero cardio. I got fit, but the fat came off slowly. However, I'd get winded doing anything ... run upstairs...winded. Walk around anywhere ..winded. I was the strongest I had ever been, but I just didn't feel fit. I still hate cardio, but I do it to…

hmm...how about ... maybe you're exercising more than before and you're just sweating more?
-
Sorry your question makes no sense. How many days of food are you missing out? like roseyemm said,...if you're only eating 250 calories, then based on a measly 1200 calories per day diet, then you're missing out on about 80% of that day's food. You do this for a whole week, then you're missing out on about 5.5 days worth…

I've always hated cardio in the gym ... like running on the treadmill...so boring. Now I do 90 minutes of cardio twice a week and about 15-20 mins of cardio on days I lift. I figured a way to make it not boring for me. First I grabbed a jump rope and started doing 10 mins of jump roping ..1 min on, 1 min rest.…

I've got an FT7 ... learned today it doesn't work well in my gym's pool. All the machines automatically pick the HRM signal up, but it's not necessary since the watch part tracks it all itself. One feature on the FT7 I thought I'd like was that it tells me how much of my work out was in the cardio and how much was fat…
