I've done a bunch of races in the past two years. I have a blast at all of them! You'd be surprise how much better of a runner you are in a race atmosphere and you will certainly get addicted. GOOD LUCK!

yeah, i used to eat cheese and pasta ALL THE TIME. i switched this up and made sure that I ate plenty of beans and threw in tofu every once in awhile. Since going veggie 3 years ago, I have included eggs in my diet and I find that there's great protein in that.

I honestly don't think it's that insane. YOU WILL BE TIRED! A couple of summer's ago I did both and I would run early in the morning and then take a break before doing the shred. I found that both together gave great results.

I only had 5 pound weights when I started it. I did it and wondered why the heck Jillian and her girls made it look so easy!?! I found out later that they are only using 3 pound weights. Since weights are so cheap, I bought 3's for her other tapes and use the 5's when I think I can.

I used 5 pound weights when I did it, but I found out later that many people use 3 pounds. I personally would invest in both because they are fairly cheap. You can always start with the three's and if you find they are too easy you can always challenge yourself to do the five's.

make sure you either have a banana or a small cup or orange juice-- the potassium helps from cramping. also make sure that the meals before are easily digestible, such as white bread as opposed to wheat. DO NOT CARB LOAD! you will be surprised that you don't burn that many of them during the race.
