Weights for 30 day shred?

I just ordered Jillian Michael's 30 day shred from amazon and I read in the description that you need weights, but it didn't say specifically what. I don't have any weights, so what should I buy for this?
For reference, I'm a bit out of shape - I can do 5 sets of 5 knee push ups :blushing:

When I did JM's 30DS, I used two 5 pound weights, at times it was tough because it made my arms sore but it wasn't that bad! I think 5lb weights are the best to use for people that are out of shape or people that haven't worked out in a while!0

I used 5 pound weights when I did it, but I found out later that many people use 3 pounds. I personally would invest in both because they are fairly cheap.
You can always start with the three's and if you find they are too easy you can always challenge yourself to do the five's.0 -
In the video I think they use 3 lb weights. I found this too light. I used 5s and 10s depending on the exercise.0

Thanks I think I'll buy both.
