  • Thank you all so much! Very inspiring. I'll take pictures and go by how I am feeling. I upped the dog walk from 3km to 5km almost everyday. This is huge as I have a bad knee and hip. So my only conclusion is that I am doing something right. :) And, I am now getting full faster. I'll give myself until Halloween. If I need…
  • I'm in! What does everyone teach? :) Feel free to send me an add request. :)
  • It took a few days for me to get used to tracking, but here is what I do: 1. Like the previous post suggested: track foods early. If I know what I am having I will track it before I even eat. 2. I add my own meals and recipes so it is quicker to add my food. 3. This is what has worked best for me: I see the calorie goal as…
  • Agreed. Going out and having fun is important!
  • Excellent! Love your last sentence. :)
  • Same! I tried but it wasn't pretty!!!
  • Love it!!! Chocolate Milk I hear is the best for athletes. My oldest teen was a competitor swimmer and that's what they drank all the time.
  • Hello fellow Canadians!!! :) I am in beautiful BC.
  • I finally had a blood test after I felt so dizzy last month. Before last month, people would comment on how exhausted I looked or ask if I was feeling okay. Well, turns out my iron is way way way low. I don't eat much meat, only chicken when I do have meat. My doctor told me to use Feramax. I am going on almost a month and…
  • Great thread! I have a few reasons. 1. Selfies with my teens! :) 2. Buying nice teacher clothes. 3. Medical purposes: I need a new knee and I have a pinned hip due to a break... all on the same leg. Less weight will help with the issues I am having with pain. My goal is 30 pounds, but I won't complain if I can manage more.…
  • Thank you all so much for the replies. I am doing fine on the 1240 as it encourages me to make better choices. :) And I exercise everyday with calories burned ranging from 200-450. I definitely have some of those if I'm hungry. It's great to hear that weight loss is still possible in your 40s. I made the mistake of…
  • Thanks! I hope this will be my experience. I do need to add some strength training. My teen daughter said she would do it with me as she does strength training for rugby. I told her... light weights for me!!! I do 45-60 minute walks a day with our dogs. And I do try to add the stationary bike or elliptical a few times a…
  • I have had PF for a few months. Aching in the heel when walking and sometimes pain up my leg. I went to a podiatrist and he said good shoes. I was in a lot of pain, so I phoned a Physio place who recommended a chiropractor. I have been seeing my Chiro for a month and it has helped so much. I received Shockwave Therapy a…
  • Agreed! I have a digital kitchen scale that is wonderful. It's very helpful. I try to weigh my portions as much as possible. It's so easy to take a bite here and there when cooking! Excellent advice.
  • Thanks so much! I am logging all of my exercises. And, have been using Map My Walk so that makes it easy for the walking. :) That makes sense with more sedentary and muscle mass. I have a bad knee and broke my hip a year and a half ago, so was not able to do as much. Even now, my surgeon (I will be getting a new knee at…
  • Dealing with PF right now on my left foot. I have been going to a chiropractor for mine. I am doing a combination of Shockwave therapy and Graston technique. Between visits I was told to soak my feet in very warm water with Epsom salt. After, I use a golf ball on the bottom of my foot. I also massage the area. I tried a…
  • Hourglass, though perhaps a Cello? If I had to choose just one, I'd say hour glass.
  • There's your answer. :) You weighed yourself before breakfast. If I weigh myself after I have eaten, I will gain a pound or 2. This is why it is suggested to weigh yourself first thing in the morning. Our bodies can fluctuate day to day, hour to hour. Congrats on your weight loss!
  • Perfect sense Lexiwho. I was also confused when I started. I am to eat 1200 with no exercise to lose 1 pound a week. When I did Weight Watchers years ago my points were equivalent to 1500 calories and to exercise 4-5 times a week. Every site I go to tells me to consume 1500 a day and exercise. This is what helped me to…
  • What do you guys think of their Smoothies? I'm undecided. I like them, but they don't fill me up like the ones at Starbucks.
  • My goal is to get it down to one cream and one sugar. I just have to wean myself. I would rather eat my calories than drink them, but must have cream and sugar in my coffee. I've tried milk and it doesn't work. Half and Half is okay. I try not to get one everyday. I average 2 a week and it's usually when I can't eat in the…
  • Can I join? :) I'm 5'3" and my first goal is 25 pounds. Once I get there I will see how I feel. I just wanna be a comfortable size 7/8.
  • Yay! I am glad I don't crave the ice caps. When I crave a chocolate drink I go for a Starbucks Smoothie. 260 calories for the chocolate banana one. I get it with skim milk, so it's even less in calories. It's very filling, too. Yum! I used to do the light Fraps but am off sweeteners. :(
  • Arg! This just happened to me this morning. I started last Monday and thought for sure I would have lost something. My goal is 1200 a day which I have been doing. Though, some days I was not hungry and didn't want to force myself to eat, especially if I had exercise calories to eat. I know that our bodies can fluctuate a…
  • Thank you all so much! I think I am getting it now. :) I will say that I couldn't eat the 300 that I burned yesterday as I was full. It looks like I will have to see what works best for me. The article was great... thanks! It definitely makes a lot of sense. My biggest concern was eating the exercise calories back and then…
