I openly admit that I am addicted to double doubles! :) Here's my question: Each large is 230 calories. I'm not a breakfast eater, though I have been making smoothies. As long as I stay within my calories am I correct to assume that my addiction is okay? I will have a coffee in the morning on days where I honestly can't eat. I have yet to go above my fat intake max. I just wasn't sure if there was a hidden downside to coffee other than nutrition. Before MFP I would not account for these calories, so I'm at least aware now.

Any other double double fans? :)

Yes, and you're fine. You don't have to give up everything you enjoy. Stay away from those iced caps, though. They're terrible for you.

believe coffee dehydrates you. but that doesn't stop me. I mostly go Black no cream I used to take no sugar 4 cream at Horton's =)

I say why not? As long as you are within your calorie and nutritional limits it would be fine. When DH is home, we go for ice cream a lot. I just have a small cone, and I account for it during the day and save enough calories to have it. I LOVE double doubles, but I compromised once I saw the nutritionals and get a medium with 1 splenda and 1 milk. So not a double double, but at least I can have my Tim's! I am just not prepared to have a 230 cal drink when I am at 1200 cals/day.

I say your fine as long as you just have 1 in a day and you have room with your daily allowance. I personally need coffee in the morning or I'm grumpy, I am just experimenting with what i have in my coffee. Eventually I will be someone that drinks it black or with 1 cream.

Yay! I am glad I don't crave the ice caps. When I crave a chocolate drink I go for a Starbucks Smoothie. 260 calories for the chocolate banana one. I get it with skim milk, so it's even less in calories. It's very filling, too. Yum! I used to do the light Fraps but am off sweeteners. :(
  • I love me my Timmy's.. I don't think the MFP calorie count is accurate (way high) for what coffee with milk and sugar should be, so I log the ingredients separately and have saved a "meal" for it. I used to drink coffee, both homemade and from restaurants, with milk and two sugars but when I logged it in my food diary I saw how much each cube was worth as exercise calories, so I cut back to just one.. then none. Now I always drink coffee with just a bit of milk and I find that I don't miss the sugar. I now like the taste of coffee straight up.. I water it down too to a poor girl's Americano.. I can't take too much caffeine or I feel funny. Take it or leave it! Mugs up!

I also like Timmy's Yogurt and Berries. I share one with my daughter and have 1/2 a toasted no butter cinnamon raisin bagel as my morning snack after my weekend gym workouts.

My goal is to get it down to one cream and one sugar. I just have to wean myself. I would rather eat my calories than drink them, but must have cream and sugar in my coffee. I've tried milk and it doesn't work. Half and Half is okay. I try not to get one everyday. I average 2 a week and it's usually when I can't eat in the morning. Before starting this program, I'd have one at least 3-4 times a week. No wonder I wasn't losing weight! I'm pretty limited to drinks since I'm not using Splenda and other substitutes. I drink water or iced green tea (mostly without sugar.) I do miss my Crystal Light!

What do you guys think of their Smoothies? I'm undecided. I like them, but they don't fill me up like the ones at Starbucks.
