Congrats on completing Insanity and getting started on P90X!!! I have been through both programs. Now I do a hybrid of both of them. The cardio in P90X wasn't challenging enough - doing the hybrid gives me the best of both worlds!!! Now that you have both programs, maybe you will want to do that too!!! Here is the link to…

a couple of thoughts....looking at re-sale shops is always a great option....you can ususally find like new clothing at a much cheaper cost than new. or if you want to buy new...go for the basics for now...black / grey pants, neutral color jacket or sweater (which ever you prefer), black / grey skirt. then get some tops to…

Depending on your fitness level, INSANITY might be a good option to consider. Beachbody has several programs that do not require equipment. good luck in your search!

IS THIS GOAL OR NET AMOUNT OF CALORIES?

I'm a 54 grandmother of 2. 3 1/2 years ago, I lost 20 lbs. I started by using beachbody Ten Minute Trainer - 10 minutes a day! and progressed to Chalean Extreme, Insanity & P90X!! I have never been athletic but I really like these programs. We might be getting older, but we don't have to be fat!! :) friend me if you want…

I only count exercise when it is "purposeful exercise" Before you were doing this, you were cleaning house, playing with the kids, pushing a stroller....but it didn't help you lose weight, get fit.....count purposeful and its easy to track...no questions. if you burn a few calories by doing the other things in life...then…

this is a link to hybrid worksheets. I am doing P90X / Insanity hybrid now and love it. It seems to be the best of both worlds! http://www.beachbody.com/category/p90x-online/worksheets.do

I've heard the chest straps are most reliable. It is a bit annoying...but you get used to it...and its worth it to get a decent read on cals burned and heart rate. Did anyone find the chest strap uncomfortable? I'd hoped I could find one without a strap, but they seem really rare. I haven't been able to find one. I'm…

I have tried JM programs and beachbody programs...IMO beachbody is better....JM didn't give me enough of a challenge...and I didn't see nearly the results with it as I have with beachbody. I started with Ten Minute Trainer from beachbody because I was out of shape...a very good starting point...then have progressed to…

I use a Polar F4. I think it was about $65 on Amazon...I have been very happy with it. I"m like you...I didn't need it to have alot of bells and whistles...I use it for heart rate (DUH!) and calorie expenditure. good luck!

when I started on this healthy eating journey a few years ago, I didn't think I could go with out my mid afternoon chocolate fix....I exchanged it for a sweet crisp apple - that REALLY helped...determination also helped :) You have to set your mind to staying away from foods that cause you to stumble. It might take a few…

I am on my 3rd round of P90X (started fall 2011)....I experienced the same thing with the cardio part of P90X...not challenging enough. There are "HYBRID" worksheets for P90X & Insanity or P90X & Turbo Fire....this is what I have been using...much more of a challenge/workout/calorie burn for me. try this site and see if…

for those of you who have used it...in baking do you use equal amounts? ie...if it calls for 1/2 c. peanut butter, do you use 1/2 pb2 powder? AND how are some ways you have used the choc pb2? thanks!

I understand your frustration! when I eat high protein....low carb, it really helps. They say abs are made in the kitchen and I believe its true! but it takes determination with exercise and nutrition Good luck!

By "rest week" do you mean "recovery week? Recovery week is to give your muscles a break from the weight lifting part of it...but not from exercise part of it. If you feel like it, do some more aerobic exercise...but be sure to eat enough to support it. I've noticed with every BB program I have done, it takes 4-5 weeks to…

I use this recipe on almost every cake...low fat and low cal: 1 large pkg INSTANT pudding 1 cup skim milk Mix til thick add: 8 oz cool whip this has a bit more body than cool whip alone and more flavor, but not alot more calories or fat

You need resistance bands and toning bands (that go around the ankles) for the resistance days...but you could use weights instead of the bands - they would probably give you more of a work out anyway...and ankle weights instead of the toning bands. If you want the actual bands that they use in the program, you can buy…

Do you add exercise calories to the amounts of calories to eat each day with the zig zag diet or do the amounts given take into consideration your estimated exercise calories?
-
Glad you decided to start. I am on my 3rd round of P90X and am in the best shape of my life! You really get the best of both worlds...a nice balance of strength for toning and cardio. It is a bit of a time commitment...but once you make that commitment, you most definitely wont be sorry. If you order from beachbody, you…

contact savlov30 or chriswatson06...they are both beachbody coaches and very knowledgable

I also get up at 4:45 to exercise...its worth it to me because at the end of the day there are too many distractions and too many excuses! I struggled alot until a group of friends and I formed an accountability group. All we do is email each other each day with the exercise we did for that day...Let me tell you when I am…

you will also need either weights of various sizes or resistance bands. You can hook the resistance bands around something and use them that way instead of a pull up bar (the video will show you)...but in my experience, you get better results with the pull up bar...its harder at first, but well worth the effort :)

Keep going...if you stop now and wait for the soreness to go away, when you start back up, you will just be sore again. If you keep going, you'll work through the soreness as the muscles strengthen. Literally, I feel you pain!! but its worth it :)

thanks for the input...I don't track sugars...just carbs, proteins, and fats (for now) and this seems to be working. I don't have much to lose (a couple more lbs) so the closer i get the more refined this all becomes.

I'm 53 and look better than when I did "pre-40's" :) and in addition...in better health!
-
Personally I like CEX best...then I moved on to P90X...I like the chanllenge of the strength training. It seems like Power 90 is a bit easier than either CEX or P90X...not easy...just easier...for me anyway.
-
I have done both and think you will lose weight/tone with both of them....it just depends on which kind of exercise you like best...the nice thing about beachbody products, if you aren't satisfied you can return them.

I can't open the photo you attached...but I have done P90X several times and IMO it is worth the investment. Just like any other program you get out of it what you put into it...to be super toned, you have to be diligent with the exercise and nutrition plan...but if you do it 90% of the time as you suggested...you will be…
