  • Becky, There is no such thing as blowing it. Nothing wrong with Cracker Barrel unless you're doing it every other night. I think the lifestyle change is just really AWARENESS. Nothing wrong with Chicken and Dumplings as long as you are aware what you are putting in your body and you limit how often you do it. Yep, folks,…
  • I make a homemade Egg McMuffin similary to above, the only difference is I keep boiled eggs in the fridge, I peel and slice one on top of a toasted English Muffin, add 1/2 to whole slice of cheese, microwave it to melt cheese and warm up egg...that's it! Sometimes I add bacon but rarely since this is pretty filling. One…
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, 1/4 cup chopped cucumber, 1/2 cup mandarin oranges, 3 pecan halves, 2 tablespoon fat free balsamic vinaigrette ....., yumyumyum
  • This looks really yummy. However, I'm not coming up with the same nutritional totals. The reduced fat pie crust alone is 80 calories. My total calorie count is 178. What pie crust are you using?
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Tootsie Pops.....only 60 calories and takes you forever to finish :)
  • Eat a cucumber or some other veggie just before you leave. It will fill you up quite a bit but will allow you to have a couple of slices of pizza to satify your craving. I think a beer or two is no big deal either. Any lite beer is less than 100 calories. Drink a glass of water in between beers to help fill you up.…
  • I'm a former Lifetime Weight Watchers member that fell off the wagon as well.....WW worked extremely well for me until I stopped following their guidelines and then I gained back all that I had lost plus another 12 pounds :( I'm tracking all my food through here and just convert in the evening to points to make sure I'm…
  • I believe it's like 1 1/4 cups. I've got all my notes on my original recipe which I'm still trying to find :P (should've put it in my computer I know *sigh*) I use leftover roast chicken and holiday turkeys more than anything in this recipe. It's a great way to get rid of leftovers. I'll post the stats as soon as I find it.
  • Glad you enjoyed them. We're making them for dinner tonight as well. We tried a small change this time though and added quartered red potatoes on the skewer.
  • MOCK APPLE PIE 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie 2 large zucchini 2 tablespoons lemon juice 1 pinch salt 1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1 1/2 teaspoons cream of tartar 1 pinch ground nutmeg 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour Peel the zucchini. Cut into quarters lengthwise, then…
  • Check out the Breakfast Drinks in your local grocery store (usually powdered form that you add to milk but some stores have the canned stuff). It has the same nutritional value as the SlimFast and is a fraction of the cost. Just food for thought :)
  • CREOLE JAMBALAYA Makes 8 servings 3/4 cup chopped onions 1/2 cup chopped celery 1/4 cup chopped green bell peppers 2 tablespoons butter 2 cloves garlic 2 cups cubed fully cooked ham 1 28-ounce can diced tomatoes, undrained 1 10 1/2-ounce can condensed beef broth, undiluted 1 cup uncooked white long grain rice 1 cup water 1…
  • I think I'd starve to death if I ate frozen meals all the time. My seven year old can eat more than what they put in those meals like smart ones, etc...... If I DO buy frozen meals, usually it's stuff like Turkey and Dressing meals or Chicken Pot Pies like Marie Calendar.
  • I think the key to a healthy lifestyle is portion control. Don't eat like a rabbit, but eat frequently throughout the day to help keep you full. My favorite snacks are: Fudgsicles Low calorie ice cream rounds Caramel rice cake with peanut butter and banana on top Rice Krispie Treats (not as high in calorie as you might…
  • I like my homemade egg McMuffins. I keep boiled eggs in the refrigerator during the week. *Toast a lite English muffin. *Slice a boiled egg on top *Add a 1/2 to one whole slice of cheese *Microwave for about 25 seconds (this will melt the cheese and warm the egg) *Salt and pepper if you choose and top with the other half…
  • Well, I would imagine you could. I slice regular Idaho potatos, lay them flat on a cookie sheet and then salt and pepper them. Bake at about 425F for 20-25 minutes. The kids love them and can be served in place of fatty french fries. I would imagine you could do the same with red potatos.
  • You're right, Chris. You could substitute turkey, chicken, etc..... This is just so good with ham that I've never changed it
  • Lisa, it's really great for potlucks too as you can make it ahead of time.
  • Trust me. The refried beans just give it a bit more thickness and chunkiness. This is a soup even your kids will eat.
  • Sodium as is would 1060g per serving. Just use low salt/no salt items
  • I added this to my recipe organizer software and the calorie content is correct.
  • The Crockpot Enchilada recipe sounds really yummy. Just an FYI for everyone, I added this recipe to recipe software and here are the stats: Using fat free cream cheese, 1 cup shredded 2% cheese, 6 chicken breasts 4.8 ounces each (about 1 3/4 pounds), 6 flour tortillas, and 2 10-ounces cans of red enchilada sauce: Calories…
  • I keep a basket of fresh fruit on my dining room table with items that don't require peeling chopping and so forth: apples, bananas, grapes, whatever suits your fancy. If I'm looking for salty, I go for tortilla chips and salsa MEASURED OUT....don't eat from the bag or you'll go overboard! It's it's sweet, keeps some…
