The skin is definitely a concern of mine, but my biggest fear is putting all this work into it, losing the weight I want, and then getting comfortable and letting myself slip little by little until I've eaten my way back into obesity.

Welcome and much luck!

I started out with moderation. My big thing was chips, so I started buying the snack size bags as opposed to having a full bag lying around. For several months I continued to do this, but somehow slowly started cutting it out. Now I can't even remember the last time I bought chips, and I don't really care about them. It's…

Looking great! Way to go!!!

I second this. I always keep myself on a set schedule, and allow a generous amount of cals for snacks... almost like a mini meal. Seems to work well and keeps my mind off of food for the majority of the day.

Amazing! You look like a different person. Well done and keep it up!

:noway: Wow! That's really all there is to say. Just wow!

In my experience, the first two weeks are the hardest. After that, it tends to get a bit better each week. I think it's probably a different experience for everyone, but I rarely crave much of anything these days. I've been at this for five months now, and I would say for the last 2-3 months I honestly haven't "craved"…

That's awesome! Thanks for sharing this information. I've been dealing with small plateaus lately, and have wondered if doing something similar would help with that. It's nice to hear your experience. Way to stick with it, even through a discouraging plateau!!:drinker:

Mine has definitely been my face  followed by my butt and boobs :grumble:

We got the lowest priced digital one from wal mart. Since it's digital it's about 15 bucks more than their cheapest scale, but I would really recommend going digital- it's much more accurate and sensitive. I really don't think we paid more than $20.

Sounds exciting! Can't wait to experience this myself. Way to go!!

I saw that on my homepage earlier and didn't bother to read it because I thought it would be lame little tips like "park your car further from the entrance of the store." (Which is an okay tip, it's just way overdone.) I'm glad you redirected me to it, though. I was interested to see number one for sure. I've always been a…

Congratulations! I know the feeling well... it looks like we're pretty much the same size. I'm down 63 pounds from 290 and have had the exact same experience. Now I have zero pairs of pants that fit. Don't buy too many new pairs. Give it another month or two and you'll just need even smaller sizes! …

I would think the first thing you should try is adding in daily exercise. You don't have to do anything strenuous to start out with, but you should try to get at least thirty minutes a day of focused exercise. I would recommend increasing your water, too. Also, I would suggest really being picky about what you eat to fill…

The only site I know of that does them you have to pay for a membership... I don't even remember which one it was.

I  that quote hard. Never heard it before, where's it from??? You, by the way, are always so very supportive and optimistic. Thanks for that!

The most important thing for you to focus on is that you've done this before, and you can do it again. Way to go on your previous loss... that's an amazing decrease! I think we all get stuck in the negatives from time to time- I know I certainly do!- and the only thing you can do at that point is focus on your goals…

LMAO @ 5! Just thought I'd point out... if you ever get the feeling you're about to come into a million dollars, better get that divorce going BEFORE! Don't want him taking half... then he might wind up sitting right next to you in Costa Rica.

The person above me... has set very clear and realistic goals for herself. You can do it!

Yep. The only thing that ever really pays off is hard work and dedication. Joining this community is a great first step to take  Welcome to MFP and good luck!!

I have about fifty more to go. Fifty three to be exact

Wow. That must have been some serious running you were doing!

I'm no expert, but the way I think about it is, it probably takes a lot more effort to actually propel yourself forward than you realize. When you're on the treadmill or running in place, you don't have to expend that extra effort, you're simply taking the steps. Maybe this is way off the mark, or maybe it makes no sense,…

There's definitely a change! Especially in your thighs. Way to go!!!

Absolutely amazing! Good for you!!! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

The graphs are based on your own numbers. You have to weigh yourself and then put that number in. It's simply a tool for you to look back and see how you've progressed.

In my experience, IF you quit allowing yourself to "cheat" then after a week or two your hunger should become at least more tolerable. If you continue to give into your urges, though, this probably isn't so likely. I find one of the best things that helps me to get into the mindframe of not snacking is to simply set a…
