  • I counted for a few months and formed a habit like the other guy said so I stopped. Some people do great counting calories, but others like myself get tired of it and it just becomes another chore in life. You will probably get better and faster results if you count, but I don't really care how fast I lose fat so I'm happy…
  • Does it help a lot? yes..is it completely necessary? not always. I'm one of those people who does not have a long enough attention span to log my calories. I just exercise a lot and eat whenever I want to. I'll count once in a while to see what i am actually consuming and make sure it's an ok amount (usually 1800 - 2100…
  • I have been on the shot for well over a year and have not had any weight gain from it. As long as you keep your calories in check you will be fine.
  • I'm 5' 2'' and went from like 140ish to now 125ish. I just finished a bulk though so I gained a little bit. I don't really weigh myself so I'm not sure, but i'm happy with the little bit of progress i've made so far. =)
  • All about lowering that body fat percentage. You could have the strongest abs in the world, but if you have a layer of fat over them they will never show. I like to incorporate ab exercises even while I am lowering my body fat in order to maintain the muscle that I currently have.

  • Just a deficit really. I eat ice cream and crap and my abs are starting to kinda poke through a bit. I prefer slow and delicious =D
  • Jamie Eason is my idle =) I know I will never have a body exactly like hers because we are not all built the same, but she is petite like me and kicks *kitten* in the gym.
  • Thank you for the advice! I think my plan will be to wait 6 months or so and get in the best shape that I can. I've that makes the bootcamp experience a little easier.
  • I'm just saying that you can't use these products forever and once you can't rely on them anymore then you will likely gain weight back and be back to square one (aka yo-yo dieting)
  • If I did that I would have to pee every 10 minutes.....or worse... In my opinion I think dropping both Hydroxycut and Shakeology would be better. I've heard bad things about side effects from hydroxycut and all shakeology does is cost you money. It is better to just eat at a reasonable calorie deficit.
  • This, this, and that ^^^
  • It is a lot of information, I don't think it is written poorly. When you enroll there are also videos to watch so it isn't just about reading the text book. I found it interesting personally.

  • I am currently enrolled in the NASM CPT course. I have talked to many people and gyms and NASM is one of the most respected certifications. It is more than just "this is how to lift this and that". It really gets into the science of how the body works.

  • Blah, it just makes me sad because it is setting people up for failure who are new.
  • I'm 5'2'' and lose on 1800-2000 so being short does not mean you have to restrict so much. It puts people at 1200 because everyone always sets their goals to lose 2lbs a week and put that they are sedentary.
  • You will not last long on 1200 calories. It is unnecessary to eat that little and will ultimately slow down your metabolism. I know you all want to lose the weight fast, but trust me, going this route will just lead to frustration and yo-yo dieting.
  • This right here is why 1200 is too low. I hear it all the time from people who try eating this little. Please listen to the regulars here urging you to eat more. You will thank us later. :flowerforyou:
  • Everybody is saying that "it works for me." Well yes, you will lose weight because that is a big calorie deficit. I too did that years ago and guess where it got me ever time? Well....let's just say I'm not new to losing weight. This is why we have so many yo-yo dieters. It is just not sustainable overtime, not to mention…
  • Haha chest and biceps are my favorites!
  • Just got my first 1 last week!! =D
  • After finishing my bulk I am actually losing on 1800-2000 calories a day. I am 5'2'' 130ish lbs.
  • Leg day is one of my favorite lifting days because A. I am a girl and squats do amazing things and B. I am a hockey player so stronger legs equal better skating.
  • Less money in your pocket. It is better to just eat at a deficit and get some exercise really. Relying on these supplements will not help.
  • And we also Shun beach body coaches hehe
  • The picture on the left is me at 130 lbs. and the picture on the right is me at 132 lbs (I am 5' 2''). after finishing a bulk (currently "trying" to cut). After 7-8 months of heavy lifting and eating at a small surplus i'm pretty happy with my first ever bulk. I know that I have some body fat to lose, but I wanted to gain…
  • You say you have a good amount of muscle already. Maybe focus on decreasing your body fat % instead of gaining muscle in that time frame? Eat at a small deficit and lift to maintain what muscle you have. Just a thought since this is what I am currently doing. 3 weeks is isn't enough time to gain any significant amount of…
  • Keep lifting while you are at a deficit to help maintain your muscle. As for how many calories you should eat, I don't think 1200 is enough. I'm 5' 2'' 129lbs. and I eat 1600 to lose weight.
  • 2 big spoonfuls of peanut butter should do the trick.
  • Drink water and eat food....let your body do the rest.
  • The fact that you are willing to take advice and change your plans is awesome. A lot of people refuse to listen to anyone's advice so kudos =) :flowerforyou:
