  • What this dead horse now looks like
  • Funny!!! I don't do spin but I can see me singing this (quietly to myself) on the treadmill. Might have to ask for it to be added to the gym playlist  :drinker:
  • Hi Claire, welcome to the group. I can't check out your intake because your diary is not open but I am a little confused as to what you are actually trying to achieve. Here you say you want to gain weight (which I really think you should) but your profile says you want to lose weight. I hope you are getting some…
  • This is what works for me * For this day, restrict your intake of dietary fat to 0.3 g/kg body weight (or as close to this figure as possible). * Limit carbs to 1.5 g/kg body weight. Get all carbs from veggies and the tag-along carbs in some protein sources. You'll also want to limit carbohydrate-rich alcohol sources such…
  • I love IF. No, it's not a magic bullet and it's not going to miraculously make the weight drop off while eating whatever you please. It is, however great for people like me, who do not like breakfast but do like big meals. I don't find the macro management difficult and I eat healthier, without feeling any need for "cheat"…
  • There is a New Zealand group here http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/397-new-zealand-group
  • I would suggest you use the recipe tab and add your own. It is going to vary hugely depending on exactly what you put in.
  • It really depends on what suits you and your body/ lifestyle. If you like snacking and eating regularly during the day, then do it. It doesn't matter what time of day/night you eat, it's still calories in vs calories out. Personally I do 16/8 Intermittent fasting and eat 3 meals between 1pm and 9pm - works for me, but lots…
  • The only one you can buy here is So Good and I don't know how they dare to call it almond milk at all - Almonds are quite far down the list of ingredients. I made my own almond milk, which was nice, but it was much higher calorie because all it contained was water and almonds. Personally, although the So good is low cal I…
  • You can use the Edmonds cake mixes instead of the Betty Crocker ones - have tried both and I think the Edmonds ones are far tastier  Mainland low fat Feta cheese. Super yummy and only 24 cals, less than 1g fat and 1g carb for 20g of Feta.
  • We have an IF group here http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/66-intermittent-fasting I do Leangains 18/6 and absolutely love it.
  • Yep, loved the mckenzies bread until I realised one slice of that equalled 2 slices of anything else. Mine isn't so much the calories as the amount of fat in things. I never thought that boiled rice would contain fat and even the leanest of beef is still quite a high fat level and as for eggs :ohwell:
  • Congratulations on quitting smoking Jody!! :drinker: I put on about the same when I quit, but the main things to remember are a) Don't let yourself snack when you would normally smoke. Have a glass of water, chew sugarfree gum nor otherwise occupy yourself so you don't go to the cupboard. b) The weight is easier to lose…
  • Mine was 56 three months ago and is now 46. According to the treadmill it has been as high as 195, but that's only the hand sensor and I don't really trust those.
  • Sounds awesome
  • I get annoyed that there even is a plus sized section or store. Mens clothes here go from xxs to xxxxl all in one section - they don't have to feel ostracized for being larger than average. Why is it different for woman? :grumble: :grumble:
  • It definitely costs more to eat healthy here. Milk is $5.00 for 2 litres - Soda is 99 cents for the same For lean mince you are looking at $15.00gk compared to $6.00 for fatty stuff Good quality grain bread at least $3.00 loaf - white bread 99 cents And so it goes on. If you want things like quinoa and wholemeal pasta your…
  • I completely understand where that woman was coming from. I was overweight/obese from the time I was 9 and since losing the weight nearly 10 years ago I STILL think of myself that way. I think that I am pretty fair to myself over my current size (still marginally podgy I think) but people keep telling me I am skinny -…
  • Don't know if mine can really be called a shake because you have to eat it with a spoon but... 1 scoop protein powder (vanilla or chocolate) 2 Tbsp Flax meal 80 g Frozen berries (Iuse strawberries and Blackberries) 50g Low fat greek yoghurt 1/2 cup low fat milk 1/8 tsp stevia (or to taste) Blend it all really well and it…
  • I would drop the pint of orange juice before you drop the milk. Eating the whole orange is much better for you  Also stop all the "fat free" stuff and go for the real deal as the fat free is often higher in sugar and sodium. Have to agree with the more veg. Try hiding it in things like your chicken bake etc. so it's…
  • If you don't want to eat breakfast you don't have to force yourself to do so. Have you considered IF? I am not a breakfast person and have been doing Leangains IF for 2 weeks now - absolutely love it. You can work out before eating (in fact it is recommended) but they do recommend a protein suppliment before hand. For all…
  • This is the so good one - just couldn't believe how little actual almond is in it :ohwell:
  • I have made my own but the calorie count turns out really high. I guess this is because you can't add as much water to the mix without also adding flavours. We cannot get unsweetened here - just this one.
  • May have to look into buying an ice cream maker now.
  • I've been doing leangains for nearly week now and absolutely love it. I'm not a morning eater, so feeling pressured to eat breakfast was not doing me any favours and I also like to eat a nice big meal not lots of little ones. Now i eat at times that suit me better (1pm-9pm) and I get big, satisfying meals while still…
  • I've been making a quinoa pilaf lately that is just awesome. It turns out like a solid vege soup, is super filling and really low calorie. Basically it's just veges of your choice - I use approx 70g brocolli, 100g cauliflower, 100g cabbage, 180g pumpkin, 100g carrots, large onion and 65g mushroom - either grated or put…

  • JAFFA here from the beautiful North Shore .
  • Was just wondering this afternoon if I should post to see if anyone here had a solution to this one. I have the same problem, particularly when i run and it is so annoying :grumble:
