I think those group is a ghost town. ;) I'm off to find something more active. Cheers.

I have the Ultra and like it. Not sure if they're selling them anymore. The setup can be a hassle (repeatedly), but overall I enjoy using it.

No idea, because it almost never happens that I go all day without a desire to eat. LOL Plus when I have days like that (which are often), all I want to do is hole up in my room and eat something containing sugar. ;) What are you planning to make for dinner for everybody else?

But then you have people quoting studies in which the 'calories in calories out' theory didn't ring true...

And like I said, a big issue for me is actually losing FAT. I've never lost weight and not ended up flabby.

Paleo isn't low-fat. I think some paleo enthusiasts eat a lot of fat. The SSoS book discourages adding extra oils/fat but isn't really what I'd call low-fat either. And I believe that the estimated life expectancy of early humans is lower because it incorporates a much higher infant mortality rate. If they made it past…

I hear you - 40 is right around the corner for me too (in October). Yikes. I wish I could say it kept me motivated every day, but it doesn't.

Oh man...I cringe at the idea of going through the whole thing again. I totally get that feeling. LOL I'm going to be 40 later this year, and I have a 7 year old and 2 year old. Now I'm afraid to say I'm done, for fear that I'll jinx myself. ;) Welcome to MFP!

I drink about 50/50 coffee and lowfat milk, with a tablespoon of syrup. I find coffee to be very bitter. This is actually a reduction in sugar for me. I prefer lattes with a lot of flavoring. ;) Oh, and I don't use artificial sweeteners - just don't care for them.

Same here.

Yes, it's me, but it was taken 12 years (and about 30 pounds) ago. ;)

Hi! I hope you have room for one more. ;) I will turn 40 this fall. I have two young children - 7 and 2 years old. I'm hoping to lose about 50 pounds, but it's very challenging and slow!

Here! I'm in Lake Forest Park. The Seattle group looks kind of slow, unfortunately.

I really like Dr. Fuhrman's work and believe it is good advice overall...but it's so far from how I eat (and how most people eat) that I find it difficult to fathom following it entirely. I don't know if I would feel satisfied with all animal products AND plant fats AND grains being so low. Sure, you're allowed fat in…

Here I was expecting pictures! LOL

Interesting thread. I'm amazed at how low some people want to go. I once got down to ~135, with a lot of exercise and restrictive dieting. It didn't last long. I've never been less than that since maybe 8th-9th grade, and I was shorter then. I think I'd like to be about 140 pounds. I'm not sure if that's realistic though.…

I love breakfast. I love breakfast foods. And I'm usually hungry in the morning. BUT...I've noticed, in my personal experience, that I will be hungrier later in the day regardless of how much I eat in the morning. So it doesn't matter whether I just have a 130 calorie latte or a 500 breakfast of whatever (though I will say…

I used to cold brew before I bought the Aeropress. I still made it with milk and syrup - though I could get away with a little less syrup than I use now.
-
At a cafe - iced caramel latte, nonfat milk. At home - brew with an aeropress, so it's really strong. About half and half coffee + 1% milk, and about 1-2 T syrup (caramel or vanilla).

I've never owned a bikini. I'd look a lot like Kortney (sp?) but with more saggy belly flab. Not gonna happen yet. I also have two surgical scars on my belly...not sure those will ever look presentable. :P

I'm weighing twice a week for now. Once a week drives me crazy.

Yeah, if I buy fresh bread (Great Harvest!), or make bread, or buy sweets like doughnuts, I will just keep eating them until they're gone. It won't necessarily happen all at once, but I'll be conscious of them there (while I'm doing other things) and want to go eat them. I have to factor this in at least a day or two a…

Cashews, definitely, then pecans, then walnuts and peanuts. I wish I liked almonds more than I do.
