I just got my fitbit. Using it for about a week now. I wear it for all walks/jogging, it does a calorie adjustment so don't enter it again. But if I'm doing more vigorous sport like squash or step less exercise like weight training I don't wear the fitbit for that duration and use a HRM and input the exercise values. If u…

Ps I just checked out your profile: u can afford to eat the bar (I can't) lol

Coffee with 2 small squares dark chocolate or a small choc chip cookie sometimes works for me. Or a handful of coco pops if I want a little more. Or u can have the bar and exercise it off. Even better: exercise first, drink some water and see if u really want it after... Of course I'm a male, I'm told by my better half…

I forgot to add a real important benefit of exercise too: increased energy. The more u exercise the more energy u will usually have (unless overdoing it, get ill etc). Could to see u convinced by all of us Kevin :)

I believe that a good diet is more important than exercise if your sole goal is to lose weight. BUT... 1. Lighter is not always healthier. I prefer to be fat and fit than skinny and unfit 2. Exercise makes you feel good - endorphins give u a natural high that staves off low moods. 3. Exercising can be fun. 4. Exercising…

OK, need to qualify the heading though. Exercising through some injuries for example is not a great idea. Eg if you strain your rotator cuff, not a good idea to keep doing pushups or even worse still, bench presses/military presses. At least not without a green light from your doctor/treater. However I could not resist…

Excellent transformation :)

Interesting site. I am embarrassed to say that at one stage I was heavier than 100% of the male population for my age! I am faring a little better now but need to shed quite a bit more...

Haha don't sweat it, to a 7 year old, even a very attractive parent in their 20s looks, er old! I firmly believe age is a state of mind anyway. You're only as old as you feel.

Well done !!!

A blood test may confirm whether or not you are getting enough vitamin D. Plenty of people have a deficiency including me
-
Good all round advice. I would also add: 1. Keep drinking plenty of water (which I know you do). I aim for 8 glasses a day including herbal tea 2. Keep an eye on protein and fibre which both make you feel full

Wally great post. Agree that it's important to like yourself no matter your size. However I have to say I too am a little disappointed looking at some of my old photos and how long it took me to realize I needed to change. It's not just about how you look, it's how you feel (fitness/energy wise) and how healthy you are…

That is simply one of the greatest transformations I have seen in a year. Well done

Got an FT60, happy

Cindy, I think that the fear you have is only natural. And probably a little wise too. At the end of the day, I too am a little worried as to what I will do once I reach "goal" weight. I too worry that I may regain weight. However, I have to say, I still enjoy food and don't have a problem eating up when I want to - it's…

Yes eat more for a week or 2, change your foods and type of exercise. Then resume the plan. Worked for me

Tried them but got stomach cramps. A shame.

New ASIC gels, kettlbeball, more weights, HRM, a load of fitness apps and a (yet to be used) gym membership

Razor - I've quickly scanned your profile and some of the comments. I agree as others have noticed that you have lost heaps of weight in a short period of time. I also notice how young you are - 19 years old! Seriously dude, you need to EAT. I am not talking junk food but healthy, nutritious, wholesome food. You are at the…

Walking is awesome and free. Ok maybe if u want to continue walking indoors on bad days it may be worthwhile spending some money on a treadmill. Oh yea, a pedometer and heart rate monitor also may be useful to you later on particularly if motivation is an issue. Incidentally there are probably many Mfp ers who started…

Awesome transformation. Inspiring.

Diet (healthy eating) contributes more to WL than exercise. Whilst it is dissapointing that you can't do most cardio consider that you can still exercise doing some weight training. This should keep at least part of u toned and in shape. There are apparently quite a lot of bodybuilders that don't do too much cardio (at…

I can personally vouch for the value of vitamin D supplements and good ol' exposure to the great outdoors. I too had a vitamin C deficiency and obesity and inactivity did not help. No energy whatsoever. I now routinely take vitamin D (and other supplements) and try to walk outdoors as much as possible. I have a lot more…

Like you, I used to think there was a quick way to lose weight. Obviously there are a lot of responses to wade through with lots of comments. My own personal philosophy on this topic is this: 1. MFP recommends that calories do not fall under 1200. Therefore I would want a good reason why I would go any lower. For example,…

Not only do you deserve a congratulations on your weight loss, but I think you also deserve a pat on the back for raising a well mannered and grateful young man! How good is that?!

It's not a race
