Quite - but still nothing about the apps which was the point of the post. And generally speaking I don't use the Internet forums much because people are not nice to each other. It would be nice if MFP wee different. Apparently MFP has not changed much since I quit posting in the forums two years ago...

In fact he is not the only one to mention it and, no, I did not realise he was the creator of it. How exactly was I supposed to work that out given that I could not find the app? Are you the creator of Jefit to be so vigorously defending (and in a tone to run me down as well)? I do appreciate intelligent, informed advice…

Your approach to eating sounds like mine. I have lost 20kg (44 pounds) - admittedly have put some back on :blushing: but I did this following a sensible eating plan and generous calorie allowance with MFP (I eat more than MFP suggests as I think MFP too low). I haven't tried WW so cannot comment on that (certainly not on…

I have been underwhelmed by Jefit so was interested to hear about an alternative but I can't find gymprovise in the App Store. Is it only on Android?

This. For me a banned list is a sure way to a binge. MFP can help you make informed decisions about what you eat and improve the quality of your diet overall. However, treats are still OK occasionally. There is nutritional value in dried fruits, avocados, nuts, seeds, whole grains - and so many other things that are higher…

What an amazing story! You look so healthy and young! Congratulations! We put so many barriers in our own way and give ourselves so many excuses why we "can't". Your barriers were very real - but you overcame them and look at the results. We can all learn so much from your experience! Thank you for sharing it.

I had a Mirena IUD for five years (removed in March this year). I lost a lot of weight after the birth of my third child (and the IUD insertion) and then gained weight again. Last year I lost 20kg (IUD still in place). I certainly don't link my weight to the IUD. I was simply living a fat lifestyle! Now I'm living a…

Hi! I'm 5'3" and I have lost over 40lbs by eating lots! I did it without feeling starved or deprived. I allow myself treats (anyone who looks at my diary will see 2 squares of Lindt dark chocolate there most nights!) and no food is off limits. You can't eat everything you want all the time (that's how I gained my weight)…

You look amazing! Fantastic work. This is just the kick in the pants I need to get me back on track.

My baby is nearly 6 years old and started BIG school this year! And, to be honest, the extra EXTRA weight I was carrying was from my first pregnancy - she is now nearly 10! I'm in better shape now than when I had her but I still have the extra weight I was carrying before my first pregnancy to work off! You are looking…

I'm in Canberra. I've been on MFP for a year today. I've lost 20kg but I've been struggling with food lately. I'd love some more friends for renewed inspiration and motivation. Would love new Australian friends in particular. I'm not on the website much (I use the app on my phone) so don't go onto the forums much. I'm a 42…

I'm too cool to hang out on the forums! He he he!

I had more success when I realised I was chronically eating below my BMR and started eating more - yes, more! I try to eat no less than 1550 - 1600 NET each day (I'm 5'3" and weigh 180lb). Check out http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/bmr/ There are some threads on the forum discussing this if you go looking. Hope you find…

Same. Eat a little of the good stuff when you want it - really savour it - and avoid a binge. That is me anyway!

I weigh myself everyday even though I have seen plenty of advice not to. I think it comes down to your attitude toward it. I know that I am on the right track and don't need to see the scale move down all the time. I also know that my weight will not be static (going either up or down) throughout the week for any number of…

You are doing so well! Congratulations!

Fantastic effort! Looking great!

I have just discovered this on my own - it is awesome! How funny that the OP was just yesterday - I didn't see it! I was about to post about it but decided to search the forum first! I use the MyFitnessPal recipe calculator a lot but there are times when I want to know information per gram rather than per serve and this…

I have one too (nearly 5 years) and it has been great as others have said. In that time my weight has been up and down but I don't think that could be blamed on the Mirena! Now I am trying to lose weight it is coming off relatively easily.

I am a mum over 40. I have three children who are turning 9, 7 and 5 - all in the coming 6 weeks (birthday season - eek)! I turned 41 in May and started with MFP the following month and I think I have finally found the right formula for success with my weight loss! I have pretty much always been overweight but since having…

You are justifiably proud of what you have achieved so far. Looking great! Keep up the good work!!!

Very interesting, thanks! I love my spreadsheet too - LOL!

This is how I do it exactly. If you eat too fast, you will not be satisfied by two squares but really savour it and you can be and will stop at that. The sky will not fall down. If you allow yourself a little of what you crave, you will not end up binging on way to much of it later - that's me anyway...

I eat pizza about once a fortnight mainly because it is a family favorite. I make my own base and use healthy toppings. I used to eat way too much but now I eat two pieces slowly and really savor them and fill up on salad. That is completely satisfying for me and calorie wise it is similar to any other dinner. Also low in…

I like to see reminders like the OP. thanks for posting. I have worked out my own calorie goal using Fat2FitRadio's online BMR calculator. I figured out how many I need to maintain my current weight and subtracted 500 (for 1lb loss per week). That is higher than MFP recommends but its working so far. If my weight loss…

Sometimes, after dieting, we lose the ability to tell when our bodies are hungry. Each to his or her own but there is a lot of evidence that eating more is recommended.
-
I would ditch the diet foods (that will bring your calorie count too) but it is good to see lots of fruit and veg. Eat foods as little processed as possible. Good to see you indulging your cravings sometimes too. Make sure you eat enough - very important! Congratulations on being brave enough to put your diary out there!

This site doesn't ask if you are male or female. A major flaw as this can make a big difference.

I also cook from scratch mostly with fresh ingredients! always interested in having MFP friends who are eating real food! I do, however, have three young and pretty fussy eaters to contend with!
