  • I wear my heart rate monitor no matter what exercises I am doing. That way I always know exactly what I burn doing any exercises.
  • My goodness...the comments on this post have given my quite a good laugh! I have eaten my fair share of pints in my life. Baskin Robbins Pralines & Cream is the BEST ICE CREAM ON THE PLANET!!! You literally cannot stop eating it until it's all gone. And the only reason why you've stopped is because it is all gone!! Gooey…
  • Some of mine are Telephone by Lady Gaga (w/Beyonce), Dance Wit Me by 112, Get Busy by Sean Paul, Womanizer by Britney Spears, Crazy in Love by Beyonce, Tik Tok by Ke$ha, Walking on Sunshine by Jennifer Lopez, Rolling In the Deep by Adele, Feel Good Inc. by Gorillaz, Can You Feel It by The Jacksons. All of these have great…
  • I'm right there with you. I've got 250 lbs to lose. I've lost 13 so far, but a long, long way to go.
  • That is so awesome for you Keep up the good work!
  • Yes, I can attest to this as I have been trying to lower my sodium intake. On one particular day, I did very well, eating mostly no salt foods. That night for dinner, I made shrimp stir fry with three cloves of fresh garlic (no salt). After about an hour, I felt lightheaded. I thought maybe I was dehydrated so I drank some…
  • MMMMMMMM...popcorn! My thing is chocolate chip cookies. I refuse to part with them. I thought it would be ice cream, but then I discovered Skinny Cow (which is awesome, BTW.) Chocolate chip cookies just really do it for me and I can't give them up.
  • Well, I talk to myself constantly anyway so knowing me I would have said those words to myself outloud. I find that it helps to talk through things sometimes, even if you start out saying the wrong thing. Perhaps if you talk through why certain foods are a bad choice, it will help you to consistently choose the right…
  • Ha!! That is so true!
  • I love this game, too! It's so much fun that it doesn't really feel like exercise which is great! It's the perfect cardio workout.
  • try foods with more fiber in them. Your stomach has to work on them much longer than other foods, so you feel fuller longer.
  • OK...so how the heck did Jared lose all of that weight on a Subway diet?
  • The "dreadmill" is a drudgery, but if you can keep doing it, keep doing it because there is no better exercise than walking. If you really hate it, walk outside. Many neighborhood parks have walking trails for that purpose.
  • Since everyone is different, I suggest you get yourself a good heart rate monitor. It will tell you exactly what you have burned, so there is no guessing and no opportunity for inaccuracy.
  • Oh, I love them, too! I don't know about baked ones, but I'd love to find a recipe for them. I might have to create one! I'll let you know.

  • My "That's It!" moment came at the end of May when I found myself in the emergency room. It turned out to be a muscle strain but it felt like chest pains. The doctors wanted to do a CT scan of my lungs to make sure I didn't have a blood clot but I was too heavy for the machine. I couldn't have a medical test that may one…
  • OK, RebelBrew. First of all, DON'T QUIT! It will not help you and could put you in an early grave. Second of all, don't make the mistake of believing that you are the first to fall on your face with this weight loss deal. And lastly, no one here wants you to fail. I know the comments seem harsh (and some of them have been)…
  • Awesome!!!! I'm dealing with the invisibility issue right now and I know how it feels, so WAY TO GO, GIRL!!
  • It will get better. Hang in there.
  • I like your menu for the day and if you can stick to a life without meat and dairy products, you should do it. You do, however, need protein or else your body will cannibalize itself. Eat some beans. They are the best non-meat and non-dairy source of protein. Since it seems that you are trying to stick to things grown from…
  • I had a craving for Chinese myself the other night, so I came home and made some myself. It was much lower in cholesterol and sodium than regular chinese food. It was pretty delicious, actually. I much prefer to cook at home, but not everyone can do that. It's safer because I am in control of the contents...particularly…

  • You have done an amazing job! Congratulations on your commitment to yourself and your bravery!
  • For a snack you can make banana ice cream using only bananas that you run through the food processor until smooth, then freeze. Also, there is nothing wrong with a sandwich, but you have to do it right. Choose a whole grain dark bread, then really load it up and make the sandwich worthwhile. Instead of iceberg lettuce…

  • Hi! My name is Peekadoo and my body is a calorie hoarder. Today is day one of my most recent commitment to teaching my body how to burn calories. I have 300 pounds to lose and would appreciate all of the encouragement I can get. I know how hard it is to lose weight, and I commend anyone and everyone who has the courage to…
