Try veggies or fruit as a snack instead. To make them more appealing, try putting them in portion-controlled containers. For example, you could cut up a few cucumbers and put them into small baggies, or maybe some baby carrots. Having a bunch of them in the fridge may help you when you're needing a quick snack. And you may want to just get rid of the chips and chocolate. I find that if I have those things around, I EAT THEM! It's like they stare at me until I do. Anyhow, I hope this works for you as far as a snack idea. Best of luck!0

For a snack you can make banana ice cream using only bananas that you run through the food processor until smooth, then freeze. Also, there is nothing wrong with a sandwich, but you have to do it right. Choose a whole grain dark bread, then really load it up and make the sandwich worthwhile. Instead of iceberg lettuce which has no really nutritional value, use raw spinach or grilled asparagus spears. You can also skip sandwich spread and go for a smear of homemade hummus.0

Do you exercise? If you do you have more than 1200 calories to burn. Feel free to look at my diary. It goes back to January. I am now maintaining so I have more calories but I have lost 35 pounds since Jan. I really think exercise along with diet is key. Good luck!0

For snacks, fruit, nuts or veggies are great.
I'm thinking though that the better idea might be to have a more substantial lunch. Not sure what's in your salad but if it's all veggies with no protein, it's no wonder your hungry and reaching for food all afternoon. Try putting some boiled eggs or grilled chicken or even fish in that salad and I'm sure it'll stick with you longer.0 -
Lean cuisine has fabulous frozen lunch and even dinner portions that are under 300 cals for lunch. String cheese or any other leaner cheese for a snack, laughing cow wedges with carrots or celery or both (under 70 cals), cottage cheese 1%, Any type of lean lunch meat (watch the sodium), Kashi cereal bars 140cals.......All these idea's really helped me my first go round.....you just have to watch and be very strong willed.....good luck my friend!:bigsmile:0

Try adding veggies to your meals, they will help to fill you up for fewer calories. For example, when I make a sandwich for lunch, I try to also have a raw veggie like cucumber, broccoli, celery, baby carrots, califlower, etc. It definitely helps. I've also found that making sure I get some protein in my breakfast and morning snack helps keep me full. As far as snacks go, try to stick with fresh fruits and veggies...but if you must satisfy a craving do it with something healthier. Fiber One and Special K have some pretty good snack stuff...just remember to use them in moderation. Also, make sure you are drinking plenty of water! Sometimes what we perceive as hunger is actually thirst. Hope this helps! Good luck!0

I have the same problem but I am eating grapes, celery and apples right now as snacks. They help with that sweet that I crave.
hope this helps and good luck!0
