I don't start sweating till my heart rate reaches about 135-140. A HRM would really help you to know how to 'push' your body more during your workouts.

This might not work for everyone. If I hit a plateau, I will have a cheat day and gain a pound or so. I will then work out extra hard for the next 3 days(extra hour per day). I usually bust right through the plateau with little issues.

Stay away from the Timex HRM's. THe newer ones do not work with the cardio machines. I do not trust the calories burned. I am on the fence over a Garmin or Polar.

I don't believe it is very accurate. It depends on the time of day and how much water you have had to drink.

I joined because I needed a way to track my calories consumed vs calories burned while traveling. I have not really used the 'network' for support.

I did the dash last weekend in Houston. For training, I would do 2 miles on the treadmill at 4 to 4.5mph - Every 3 minutes I would stop and do 25 pushups or 50 jump rope or box jumps. I did that 3 times a week for about 6 weeks prior to the event. This seemed to help. And most importantly, do some hill training. Our event…

Your carbs seem very high to me. I try to stay under 100 per day if possible.

I wear mine to make sure my heart rate is pumping while I work out. Over an hour period, I try and average 145 bpm. The higher the heart rate, the more calories burned! I don't really trust the accuracy of the total calories burned on my HRM(Timex Ironman).

Just finished an hour in the gym(ARM day, WooHoo). We are putting our house on the market Feb 1st, rest of day will be climbing up and down ladder to caulk the crown molding in 5 rooms. Then moving boxes up in the attic. Should be a great day!

2 words... WELL DONE!!!!!

I would not worry about it. It is one meal, one day. You can do better tomorrow!

A couple was interviewing a trainer to work with both of them. The trainer walked up and touched the womans belly and asked when she was due. The lady ran out of the fitness center crying. The husband said that was the 3rd time in 2 days someone had asked her if she was pregnant. She really was not that overweight in my…

I love working out but don't have one workout I love over another.

Sounds like a great lunch plan. It gets easy to pass up fast food. The only fast food I will eat is Wendy's. I have not been to a McDonalds in over a year. Funny part is they are still doing an increase in sales. You should get the mission low carb wheat tortillas.

I had a Facebook friend that said he was in London and had been mugged. He needed me to send him some money. I said sure, just answer one question. Where did I finally meet you in person? We went back and forth and the other person was very offended that I would ask such a question in him time of crisis and finally removed…

I HATE MY TAPE MEASURE!!! Because it NEVER lies...

I dropped 40 pounds in 3 months using the Aktins diet. I gained it all back very quickly once I started eating bread again. You have to think long term about the type of food you will eat the rest of your life. Do this and you will be successful. I do not consider myself to be on a diet. I am just eating healthier food.…

I hope you are stopped at the time

In the last year... fit into my 'skinny box of clothes', understand how to eat healthy, cut down on sodas from 6 a day to 1-2 a month, 50 push ups, ran a 5K, swam 1.6 miles for charity, attend Tae Kwon Do with my 10 year old, participated in a Tae Kwon Do competition against a 18 year old (I am 42), worked out at the gym…

Gain it back and start all over... :-) Started Tae Kwon Do and other sports I could not do before.

You can do push ups / sit ups / jumping jacks anywhere you go! Just set a number you want to do each day and stick with it.

I ride a Skyski (hydrofoil - sit down ski) and drive a boat from manufacturer called Tige' http://www.tige.com

Try and limit your carbs after 4pm and you will do just fine!

I believe the bread sticks are 200 calories as well. But seriously, it would be wrong to eat that salad without the correct dressing.

Some credit card companies will do price matching. I know my American Express Platinum would have honored the $30 discount.

If you really want to step it up. Find a Crossfit. That would be the ultimate. http://www.crossfit.com One thing that i have found - try and find a workout place close to your house. If you have to drive 30 minutes or more, it would be hard to keep motivated.
