  • Sure did, if I don't limit carbs, I don't lose weight! I did 4 weeks of low calorie and exercise and nothing changed. After 1 week of low carb, I am down 3 lbs.
  • I am so into this low carb lifestyle, I love it...no hunger like the low cal and no huge cravings like low cal. I have been trying to stay below 30 carbs and succeeding quite easily. Tomorrow will be 1 week and am anxious to see how many pounds lost in my first week. Feeling good!! Made the cauliflower rice last night and…
  • Just dropping in to say hello to all and to report that.....FINALLY....I am now losing weight and it's thanks to Low Carb!!! I quit smoking back in March, went to Italy on a 3 week holiday and by summer I was up in weight. I was faithful to the low cal diet on here for 6 weeks in July/August and maybe lost 1 lb or so. Not…
  • bump for me....I'm loving low carb
  • Was looking for a thread when I came across this one. I have been quit for 7 months now! I was able to quit using Champix (Canada) and an online forum filled with people who are quitting smoking. It has been a lifeline...just like MFP can be to dieters. If you want to look around, it can be found at…
  • Hey all, marking my spot because it is time that I get downright serious. I feel I am active enough with the classes and walking that I do. I do 1 hr class of pilates/yoga on Monday and Thursday and 1 hr class f belly dancing on Wednesday. In between days, I often get up early and do either elliptical for 30 minutes or one…
  • Try googling Chaste Berry or Vitex (same thing, different names). I read several good articles on these herbal remedies and am trying it out for myself. Can't hurt! And believe me at my age, I am far from a teenager..........what the F?
  • It's called the Paleo Diet see http://thepaleodiet.com/ A co-worker swears by it...she lost 10 lbs without even trying although she seems to have stablized now. She loves the way she feels while eating the recommended foods. dk
  • New fresh egg always stick to shells, buy and wait for 3 or so days before boiling!! dk
  • Make sure you allow yourself at least 1 rest day from the DVD per week. In Ripped in 30, Jillian mentions this but for some reason, she does not in Shred but it is important for your body to have a rest day and will further help your final results. Keep shredding Donna
  • Completed Level 1, Day 1 of Ripped. I like it. Having done Shred, this one is easier to follow her moves as certain moves, she repeats in this level. I like the working with weights on the upper body as at this age, I will never be a model but would love to have great looking shoulders and arms for sleeveless clothes. HRM…
  • I'm in.......ready to start another challenge. Didn't quite finish 30 Shred but did at least 25 days of it. I will start on 13th.....sounds like a good day. I plan to take 1 day off a week. 7 days a week is just too much for me! (I think)
  • Wow, here in Canada, we are half way through summer. And unfortunately, here in Western Canada, we haven't had the best of summer weather. Here's hoping for more warm weather and sunshine although the forecast is not too positive. boo Hoo. But today is wonderful, sunny and a great day for a family BBQ. Here in Canada, it…
  • Facebook said that they were having some problems but just reported that all is up and running again. Yay. Beautiful weather here in Central Alberta and a great day for a family BBQ. It is a holiday in most of Canada..most I say, not all! Off to get some groceries! have a great day everyone!!
  • I am waiting to see what other people say but I am so with you. Been exercising my butt off, counting, staying within caloric range but weight staying the same. I do note that when I do the lower carb days that I lose a little but then the high carb day, I gain it all back. I quit smoking in march and am thinking that with…
  • Well after a couple days of slacking off cause of groin pull (?), I put my exercise clothes on and decided to switch it up and did Level 3, Day 1.........gosh she is tough on the planks...wow! Thought I had some pretty good abs happening but after that I know that I will stick with level 2 a bit longer. Plus I found the…
  • Level 2, Day 5 DONE! Wow, seems like it never gets easier. It really didn't help that we were away for the weekend and therefore, missed two days of shredding...oh, well, I'm back at it and feeling good about it! I love the sweat.......makes it feel like we are really losing weight.........in my case, NOT! But it feels…
  • Me too, done Day 1 of Level 2......I am not too bad at planks because I have taken quite a few yoga classes and our instructor was pretty tough. I am happy that there is less cardio but that darn skipping and jumping jacks still gets me...my outside muscles on the back of my thighs actually hurt when I jump........not sure…
  • Wow, time adds up fast....I have been quit 4 months, 2 weeks and a couple days. I have gained a little weight but found after 3 months of not smoking that I was ready to commit to losing the weight I gained plus some of the excess that I had before I quit. I find that the support of a forum (I joined…

  • Guess we are the seniors here...I am 56.5....lol had to throw in that .5......................only wish it was weight loss. Darn scale just won't move and if it does, then a couple days later it moves right back! Stuck!
  • Agreed, I am chugging my way through...not sure if it is getting easier or not. Depending if I do the exercise in the morning or after work really seems to make a huge difference in my endurance. However, just can't fit it in in the morning of a workday. So after work, it will have to be! I am interested in Ripped though!
  • Completed L1 D6 and 30 minutes on weight loss mode on elliptical. Soaked through with sweat (I know, girls perspire). Whatever, I am soaked. Noticed big improvement in cardio today, had to rest yesterday as knee was feeling very full and sore but this morning, it was fine so hence the full workout again! Feeling pretty…
  • Day off for me but back at it tomorrow. After 3 full days, my knee was really stressed from the bends so I decided today was Off. I can't believe how good you women are with your pushups...heck...I can only do the first set on my knees. And I have done mega Yoga Planks but still struggle with push-ups. Guess you could call…
  • Hey I'm in, purchased the three DVD of Jillian's-the Yoga Meltdown, Shred and Ripped from Amazon. Haven't looked at Ripped yet, but have done 1 Yoga and am on Day 4 of Level 1 having substituted one day with the Yoga Meltdown instead. wow, she was tough, I couldn't finish lots the first day. Today was much better getting…
  • Been catching up with everyone and see that everyone is busy, busy. As long as we are all tracking and exercising, we'll get there. Just finished up 50 minutes of exercise between Jillian Michael's 30 day shred and 30 minutes of elliptical. I like exercising in the morning but with a 30 commute to work and starting at 8,…
  • Beautiful Day, received my Jillian Michael's triology yesterday and started with a workout yesterday........wow,,,it felt wonderful to work up a good sweat. I am anxious to try another one today...I think I will try the Yoga meltdown. Love yoga and think that this one will kick butt. Off to take dear dog for haircut then…
  • I see you need more Dec birthdays...ha, ha....My birthday is December 9, 1954 Donna (Bada_bing)
  • Happy Canada Day to all the Canadians here and Happy Independence Day for Monday to all the American friends. I have only been at this site for about 10 days but am loving it. I used sparkpeople years ago but have found it too confusing lately and needed a new start. I am in love with FP and back on track. I quit smoking…
  • Happy July to everyone. Just went and had the Canada Day Pancake Breakfast at the local Co-op Store, food was donated by Co-op, pancakes were flipped by the salesman from the local Ford dealership. It was great and busy. The most people that I have seen there since it started about 5 years ago. Yes Becky it is a holiday in…
