  • Depends on what type of crazy you're talking about! Good crazy or bad crazy?

  • You are correct sir! Body weight, smoking and fatty foods are major contributors to high blood pressure. Keep it up!
  • Thanks! I'm in Yonkers, NY and biked today from my home to Manhattan. Wanted to see what it looked like without all of the hustle and bustle and it was indeed interesting! I've got everything I need and am ready for what's to come.
  • I was just reading an article in Competitor Magazine (www.competitor.com) that ranked the top 25 fitness shoes for the fall. I'm partial to Reebock myself, however. And the lighter the better.
  • Try this one...it gets great reviews! http://www.walmart.com/ip/Allen-Deluxe-2-Bike-Carrier/10811998?sourceid=1500000000000003260420&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=10811998
  • Excellent! Another New Yorker! Welcome! Feel free to add me! We're in this together!
  • I agree with all...need to see your diary. What type of exercise are you doing at the gym? And for how long? Do you sweat? That may be a funny/strange question, but I see so many people at the gym that get on a treadmill and don't even break a sweat! I know why, but I wonder what they are there for. We're all here to help…
  • I think there's a smoothie in my future tomorrow!
  • Almost never. I love to cook and find that it doesn't take all that much more time. If that's the case, prepare some meals for the week and don't forget the vegetables! There are plenty of recipes you can find on the web that will turn you into a culinary master. Also, fast food has too much fat, too much salt, too much…
  • You're welcome! Grab the ipod, find some music that will inspire/motivate you and you'll be done before you know it!

  • One of my favorite things to do is Google the ingredients and see what recipes pop up. Got this delicious one by Googling chicken breast, black beans and rice (I modified it by using brown rice, of course :).....left out the pimiento too! http://www.food.com/recipe/chicken-with-black-beans-and-rice-21768
  • You might be able to afford these: Resistance bands. They provide a great workout. Check out your local sporting goods or department store. If that fails Amazon sells them as well...may be less expensive there, including the shipping!
  • Buy a whole watermelon, cut it up into cubes, put it in storage containers and grab some when the cravings start. I'm about to go to the fridge for some now...
  • I almost always spray a cooking oil spray before cooking. Usually Canola or Olive Oil based. Enjoy it!
  • I'm a fan of whole wheat or whole grain flour tortillas as the pizza crust. Place in the oven at 400 for about 2-3 minutes on both sides, then add sauce, cheese (if you must) and lots of fresh veggies! I'm a fan of mushrooms, peppers, onions, scallions and garlic, in any combination! P.S. Saw the cauliflower crust recipe…
  • I think you need a little more weight training. Since getting to the gym doesn't work for you, buy some resistance bands and use those at home. They really give you a good workout. Adding the fruit and veggies is a major plus. Good luck to you.
  • It's a garden salad with tuna and beets for extra vitamin B! Watermelon for dessert.
  • I really don't pay attention to other people's weight at the gym, but I do pay attention to the speed they use on the treadmill. I got a great piece of advise from my brother (Moefitt. He's on here to help others if you're interested). He told me to slow down my speed on the treadmill and that would increase my endurance.…
  • For the treadmill: Time Won't Pass Me By: Hall & Oates Runnin' Down A Dream: Tom Petty Once I get my burn on, then I'm good Next: New Order: Substance Disc 1 Janet Jackson: Janet and Rhythm Nation
  • Here's an idea. Change the snacks you're eating. I've gone from chips and salsa to sunflower seeds as an example. Instead of cake (really not a sweet eater) I go for granola bars, 100 calorie snacks, lots of fruit (watermelon, banannas, apples, plums). Another thing...pay attention to the calories and put your food…
  • I'm B and E. My brother is a personal trainer for a very high end gym and he's joined to help out people. He goes under the handle moefitt and I promise you if you reach out to him he will help you. Example: We had a discussion last weekend about my treadmill running. He told me that I was running too fast and that was why…
  • If shopping is out of the question, go with B and accessorize, accessorize, accessorize. What style necklace, earrings? Makeup? Hairstyle? Stockings? Shoes? Flattering belt around the waistline? You can make it look good, but it's up to you. Also, is this a meeting? Will you be making a presentation? An interview? I used…
  • What motivates me? Life motivates me. Last year was one of the worst years of my life. I lost my cat, lost my job and what hurt the most was I lost my best friend of 36 years to a massive heart attack and he was only 49. I had exercised before but had slowed down in my 40's, but you can best believe I've ramped it up. Get…

  • I agree! A chicken stir fry or chicken fajita (home made, of course to keep the additives at bay). Check out some recipes online. I tried one tonight. In fact I still have it in my computer. Here it is... http://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/easy-chicken-fajitas
  • Feel free to add me as a friend. One of the reasons I love this site is that you learn so much. I was just looking on WebMd to better understand what you are going through. I'll be more than happy to encourage you on this journey.
  • I'm a songwriter. More a lyricist since my guitar playing is not that good, but as long as it's got a C, D or G in it, I'm good to go! lol
  • I'll be 50 this Tuesday the 16th and would be more than happy to join in this adventure. Feel free to add me as a friend.
  • That's the way I describe it to my friends. Enjoy and feel free to add me as well.
  • Don't be scared. Put some good music on your IPOD, take your time and don't even think about it. Good luck to you.
  • Let me give you a suggestion I received from Moefitt, who is my brother, a licensed personal trainer, and recently joined this site: slow down your pace and you may find that you will go farther.
