  • One of my favorites is something I came up with: a chocolate & banana smoothie. Check my recipes and if you can't find it there let me know. P.S. you can do this without the cocoa powder too! Also, add a handful of almonds in for a real treat!
  • Never thought of it as a dating site. With that in mind however, are any ladies here from Yonkers or Westchester County, NY? lol
  • You are missing a few of the best superfoods and the one that I put at #1 on the list is.....KALE! Sautee it, steam it, add it to a salad. Kale has one of the highest amounts of antioxidants of any food on the planet. Check out this blog...inspiring http://www.365daysofkale.com/ In addition: Sweet Potatoes and Bananas are…
  • There is an app called Body Fitness that has a wide variety of exercises that I have added to my workouts. Did wood chops yesterday. If you have resistance bands you can do these at home. If not, I suggest you get some. They come in handy.
  • Considering that I would have to listen to the album over and over...Genesis "Second's Out"
  • http://www.myfitnesspal.com/recipe/edit/2805170 Here's one I came up with. For a change of pace I added 12 almonds and chunk pineapple and eliminated the cocoa powder. Enjoy any way you wish.
  • Get a set of resistance bands that you can use at home to add strength training to walking/jogging. Some good music helps as well.
  • Being 6'1" I'm all for it....
  • Correct. Change your exercise...for example, on the treadmill I've upped the incline in order to get that good burn. Do a little something different and you'll see results. Best to you on your journey!
  • Show them this website and show them this thread...I think that should be enough. Congratulations to you on your success!
  • I would say "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" You are doing such a wonderful job with your weight loss and exercise. Why throw a monkey wrench into the process. Your personal trainer? He or she has been through this with countless others and as long as you keep up your exercise regimen, you will lose the weight.…
  • I usually go for microwave popcorn or fruit. Last night it was diced watermelon and that took care of the craving. Other times, a smoothie made with banana, vanilla yogurt, 1%milk, powdered cocoa and a few ice cubes will do the job and fill you up!
  • There is one and only one number one: Richard Pryor After that...in no particular order: Lewis Black Chris Rock Jerry Seinfeld Bill Cosby Dan Wilson (from Long Island, not California)
  • And I would do the opposite. I tend to do strength training first in order to get the heart rate up and then do the cardio. I find that I'm not as exhausted and can do more. I now run consistently 3 miles a clip on the treadmill.
  • 1. Find your motivation. Mine was the death of my best friend at the age of 49 to a massive heart attack. 2. Cook! Use fresh fruit and veggies as much as possible. Vary what you eat and how you eat it. I eat mostly chicken for protein and you can make it a million ways. 3. Stay on this site. You will find and make friends…
  • Can I give you a piece of advice? Give up the "diet" and just start eating healthier. Can/do you put more fiber in your diet? It will help to fill you up. Do you read labels? Pay attention to the calorie intake, additives and the carbs. Are you exercising? Burning calories also give you the opportunity to consume more…
  • There usually is a dress code in a workplace environment. I would suggest you take a look at it and if it is not being enforced, I suggest you do otherwise the behavior becomes commonplace and you will lose the opportunity for reprimand. I have been a boss and have had to instruct a woman to "cover up". I always did it in…
  • I'm big on oatmeal with raisins, cinnamon and nutmeg in the morning or cheerios with a banana. Once a week I'll spoil myself with turkey bacon, eggs and pancakes then go for a long distance bike ride. Lunch is usually tuna or turkey wrap with veggies. The wrap is almost always whole wheat. Salad is also a choice. Fruit or…
  • Here's another thing to try...google some of the vegetables you don't like. Read up on the benefits they give to your body...fiber, vitamins, healthier skin....get the idea? Then take a good look at yourself and ask yourself how strong is your desire to change yourself? It's a journey, but you're not alone. Everyone here…
  • Love it! You are an inspiration!
  • I'll add you now! Welcome to the journey!
  • That's all that matters and the nutrients in both fruits and vegetables are winners!
  • Here's my first rule...stop worrying about how you are going to look. Believe it or not most people are not looking at you and if they are it is just because you are in their peripheral vision line. This is not to insult you, you're very lovely. However concentrate on the task at hand. Now as for cycling...I LOVE IT! I…
  • Thank you! That was indeed very interesting.
  • Let your calories be your guide...calories burned vs. calories consumed. As long as I'm below my calories I'm a happy man. Continued success to you!
  • Change the snacks. Replace the salty snacks with popcorn and nuts. I'm a fan of sunflower seed kernels because you seem to chew forever! That action makes you feel like you've "pigged out". Also, low fat microwave or air popped popcorn is a better way of snacking. Do yourself a favor: Before you reach for the next bag of…
  • I agree with you completely! I eat a lot of fresh fruits and veggies and while most of my friends commend me for the effort, very few of them follow along the same path. This summer the fruit has been fantastic here in New York! The watermelon, cantaloupe, peaches and right now the delicious plums are just wonderful! My go…
  • Hi Pam. I think you will find this site addictive...and for all of the right reasons. My advice to you is to find that motivation. It's different for everyone. Mine was the death of my best friend to a heart attack and he was the same age as me. That was my wake-up call, although I had been doing things sporadically with…
