I did up my calories but then I sort of forgot that I shouln't have cheat days after upping cals. Have put on 5 pounds so I'm working on losing that again. I also want to sort out my thighs! I'm gunna start new rules of lifting for women next week. I'm 5'7 and 128, but was 123 a while back. I don't mind about the numbers…

It's a personal choice - simple as that! I could go into details but it kinda sounds like you've made your mind up already. Sorry if I'm wrong and you are genuinly have an open mind? Would be happy to share if that is the case. LIke someone else mentioned I don't go round trying to convert people, I buy and cook meat for…

cool, that's a really good idea to up it slowly. I was just looking back at my progress and hadn't lost anything for about the last 8 months previous to upping my calories, I was having about 1600 after eating back exercise. Maybe I need to go back down to this until I start New rules?
First off, OP, you could practically be my twin : -)
And we both joined in june 2011 :-) How long did it take you to figure out what your maintainance was? Did you go up to start with ?
-
Yeah I don't think it's water cos I've just had a week off from exercise (apart from lots of walking on holiday) and the weight was still there when I got back. I was hoping it would be gone lol! Think maybe the days where I've gone over maintainance have done it. Either that or it's taking my body a long time to adjust?
-
hmmm, I never thought of it like that though as you say it's pretty obvious!! Thanks for posting :)
-
you too! God I'm starving! TIme for (healthy) lunch!
-
Thank you :flowerforyou: I feel your pain lol! Sooooo annoying isn't it!!

Good point! I am just shy of 5'7 and am within the healthy bmi range (not that that means anything really!) I've not been this thin before but then I have never eaten so well before and I also used to drink lots of alcohol (none now or very rarely), so I don't really know what my body wants to do now I've improved my diet.…

I would have hated it too when I was bigger so I do know how you feel :-)

Love this! Good to know I'm not alone in worrying about this! "Our fat cells want the fat back on"! hahaha brilliant!! Grrr it's so fustrating - I am gunna do as you say and be extra careful for a few weeks and see what happens

I think 120 would be too small on me (I'm 128 at the mo) I was 52 pounds heavier before so I think I'll always worry about it  Would be nice to be able to relax one day. Sounds like you are doing great - keep up the good work :flowerforyou:

The scales I have (which I know should just be used as a guide) say I am anywhere between 20.1 and 20.9 % BF. When I am at the higher end it says my water is down to about 57%. If my water is good (59% usually) then the scales say my bf is towards 20%) Thanks guys for the replies so far :-) Was thinking of getting my…

Just don't want to undo all my hard work :-) I binned all my bigger clothes lol!

Then you can save it as a meal for the next time you eat the same thing, much quicker and easier! Just watch out for some of the calories in the database being wrong, and I recommend weighing all your food till you get the hang of portion sizes. Good luck!

hahahahahahahahaha!!

don't feel bad, lots of us have days where we regret what we've eaten. I've pigged out all bank holiday and feel horrible today, but it will pass, and today's a new day and we can start over :-) And I am the same in that it's taking my brain a long time to catch up on my weightloss, again, I'm sure that's very normal Add…

Except that they are trying to do just that!! Two things I read recently in the news: 1) In the UK they want to tax cakes, fizzy drinks etc. But why should I, as a person who is very healthy and has chosen to get, and remain, slim, have to pay tax on something if I decide I want to eat cake once in a blue moon? 2) I also…

Good for you, I worry too much about what people think of me. More so my friends and family than people I don't know. Pleased it's made you stonger :drinker:

Should it just be doctors telling us though? Should our friends and family have a responsibility to tell us if we are not healthy? It's hard to do that in a nice way, and I guess that's what the doctors are getting at. The difference is though that the doctors should be trained and experienced in having those difficult…

I wish that when I was bigger a doctor would have got me to work out my BMI or shown me a weight chart. I knew I was on the heavy side but because I still looked "normal" compared to everyone else (I would suggest we now see overweight as the norm, or at least we don't notice it as much) I didn't realise how much extra…
