  • some people are unlikely, i am one of them with this problem also theres many things you can try first dont wear cotton shirts if you sweat alot, get dri fit clothes( if budget is a problem walmart has them for around 10 dollars) try bodyglide or even taping them if they are really bad if you go really intense wear…
  • when you are running the first few miles, i just ran routes in my neighborhoods or city. explore new areas it will make you think less about your run and enjoy the scenario, also find good music you enjoy. For the marathon I used hal hodgens. but take it 1 step at a time and dont go to fast. slowly increase your mileage.…
  • hey i am in a similar program to you. I will be running my first marathon this weekend. and here has been my weekly workout m- chest/tri t- back/bi short run( a couple miles) w- a bit longer run then tuesday thurs- shoulders/traps/abs fri- rest sat- long run sun- legs if possible ( dont go to heavy because you can injure…
  • congrats man, thats amazing, i am about to hit 300miles this weekend. but wow 500
  • did my first half last november. my first full marathon is this upcoming saturday. I think it will be possible, but theres a couple basic rules 1) get new shoes 2) make sure you are healthy 3) find a program ( i mainly looked at hodgens plan but i didnt follow it exactly) 4) anticipate setbacks( ive injured my…
  • may 9th leaves one month. is ur calf fully healed and are back at 5-miles? I think trying to increase your long distance mile by 1 every week will be good. that way by april 29th you should be around 9 miles. then if you can run that, then you wont have a problem finishing the race if you are ok with walking some of it.…
  • whats your goal. your shorter runs should be faster than your longer runs. most training plans have you run once a week at your race pace. and personally i think adding a 5th day is to much running, and your legs will be overworked. also very close to your race, you dont want to over strain your legs. my opinion would be…
  • also based on when you weigh yourself, you may be just holding onto water. in a given week my weight fluctuates around 4 pounds (weightlifting and running) will cause your muscles to hold onto water for recovery. especially since you are drinking so much water. Just make sure you weigh urself the same way everytime. This…
  • i am still losing, i dont really track calories, i just eat food, i try to eat healthier and not eat much deep fried stuff sweets and pop. other than that I eat mostly anything. I think its probably the 30-40miles i run a week, i think its starting to attack my muscles. but i am not happy with my bf and how my body looks…
  • I started mid to low 30%, i am down to about 16% or thats what some online calculators say. Lost in total about 50 pounds, first 30 or so just cardio and dieting, gained 5 of it back then started strength training and running on rest days, since then lost 25 pounds, and now i am much stronger, and feel better. all together…
  • like the person above me said, as you increase your distance your endurance builds, this will allow you to run shorter distances faster. try training for a 10k or keep increasing
  • im overweight still, and training for my first marathon. i dont believe that only skinny people can run, last year i ran my first 5k,10k, 15k, and half marathon. now i can do a half on a saturday morning with no problem. just stay committed and you will do fine. calorie wise, i highly recommend that you eat more on long…
  • also good music always helps. i dont really have a 10k goal just trying to do a 15k next month and hopefully a half in a few months
  • i really think just u have to push yourself really hard to do it once, and once its done your mind realizes your body is capable of so much more.
  • it really depends on your taste in music.. run to music that you enjoy and helps focus in enjoying the songs. Some artists i enjoy kanye, jayz, kid cudi, lupe, drake, dj khaled and a few others ( i try to download or get an entire album and listen to that so i can listen to all their songs, its how i listen to new music).…
  • i love carbs too, i love sandwiches, and indian food and asian food is all carbs. If you love carbs try to eat complex carbs, eat whole wheat bread, brown rice, whole wheat anything really. its more fiber and not as bad as the processed carbs.
  • chobani is really good.. 14g of protein 0 fat :)
  • that was actually something i wanted to do... but i dont like doctors and im only 21.. so i never go in unless im sick, but lately i have been thinking about getting a checkup and bloodwork done. but food wise, most of the stuff i have been eating is pastas, grilled chicken, omlettes, salads. and outside food its usually…
  • i would love some, does it make a difference though? since i do run a good amount, and plyometrics and pure cardio insanity incorporates squats and such.
  • yea same, thats why i dont want to do it. if i did it i really wanted to squat and other free weight stuff, i feel like the machines dont do as much, and i mind as well just run longer.
  • i dont know ur priorities or if you have certain things to do after work, but if you dont try to go directly from work to a gym. it creates a habit and you will go daily. especially if you bring a gym bag in the morning and such. its what i do but this all involves you getting a membership
  • honestly from personal experience, just finished my junior year last month. I try to take it as my week off or i dont get to paranoid about exercise and eating healthy. I know this sounds horrible but your grades arent worth it. but this is what you can do For example finals week, if you have an evening exam, and you…

  • i understand, i try the best i can.. but life isnt full of strict diets, i went through a hardcore diet in the past summer and ran alot lost 28 pounds in 3 months. but i mean, i eat fruits, salads, and usually dinner is when it goes a bit unhealthy. but its not like im eating 2 big macs or something. its usually chipotle/…
