I've been drinking water to help me stay full. I wouldn't force yourself to quit eating stuff you like, but maybe just have one piece of cake, or a smaller bit of ice cream, etc... I've just started a couple of weeks ago, and I seem to be making progress doing that.

How effective is P90X? I've heard a lot of good things about it. My friend uses it, but she was already skinny as should be before that.

I cut out drinking, but the bars are the only really social places in my town (they have live music and pool), so I just get a cranberry juice or something similar and hang out. Also you can try to make your friends do healthier/active activities with you. Invite them to go hiking, or the beach. if you have a smart phone…
