  • Hello. It has been a while since I've posted anything, but if you haven't read through it already (the link is probably buried in a thread or two in this group somewhere) I have a blog that is dedicated to YAYOG. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/EPICSRT I have not done any YAYOG exercise regularly in a while, but will be…
  • YES! Thank you all! This is the kind of information I was hoping people would share! We are all doing YAYOG or BBY and it doesn't matter what level you're on. I just think it great to see how everyone is utilizing either of them in tandem with other exercise. I would also hope that this information would be helpful to…
  • Gloves with a thin layer of padding on the palms should help out. Let me ins did hurt my hands at first, but that went away after a couple times of doing them. If you are gripping the door knob with your hands, the gloves should help. You could always switch to doing them with a towel. As far as let me ups, how are you…
  • Basically, what jkirby79 said above^^^ If you have a smartphone, buy the app as that pretty much takes the guess work out of all of it. As far as combining days, if you got it - go for it!! I am actually looking at doing a little bit of that myself here in the near future (or something similar to it). However, don't…
  • Don't know why I NEVER thought of it, but it's on the agenda for today's week 5 day 3 - One Armed Let Me Ins! Sometimes I forget about the progression of these exercises. It's the same with pull-ups - if they become too easy, then switch to one armed pull ups (wait, wait, wait...is this the part where I say "Only for the…

  • I record water consumption for anything that I add water to (drinks, not food like soups etc.) When I make a protein shake I record the amount of water I use. I do not record the amount of water for soda or anything else I didn't add water to because I do not know exactly how much water is contained in item.
  • As promised: http://youtu.be/jZDCtNzxIEA (you may need to copy and paste the link) I recorded this this evening after Week 4, Day 3 workout. Sorry for talking fast but I didn't want the to be that long of a video.

  • Week 7, Day 3 of the Master Program is when you begin doing unassisted pull-ups. 12 reps, 3 sets. There does not appear to be a lot of focus on pull-ups; however, I believe that this is on purpose. We all know how hard pull ups can be, especially if we haven't trained is some time. A lot of the other exercises that we do…

  • I will try to create and post a video about the above topics tonight. Specifically, I will focus on Let Me Ins, but also go over Let me ups and Pull Ups. I will show you how I do these exercises and what seems to work for me. Will be easier to demonstrate than to try and explain in a post. Once video is posted on YouTube I…

  • Another good way to do let me ins is to wrap a towel so that it hooks around both sides of the door around the handles and hold the towel instead of the handles. This is how I perform let me ins. It also allows you to position your upper body at, or further away from, the door which can change the difficulty level of the…
  • The iPhone app does have short videos for every exercise. If you have the iPhone I would highly recommend the app. If I remember correctly, exercises in the book versus the app are a little different and I think the updated app is in theory an update to the YAYOG 10 week workouts. To me, the $3 for the app is more than…
  • Glad to hear that you moved on. I have to ask, are you using the YAYOG phone app?
  • I completed the First Class level last year, started the Master level and then just stopped (no real reason). I was getting really good results (you can view my blog if you want, link is in the "story" thread). I recently began doing the Master level again; tomorrow will be Week 1, Day 4. The key to starting the Master…
  • Hello all! Not too new to YAYOG. Been doing it off and on. I started a blog last June (2012). Pretty much my story after losing almost 60 pounds. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/EPICSRT I love YAYOG and even though I've taken the last 6 months off from it (for no good reason), I'm am picking back up with the Master level…
  • Not sure what you are doing to lose the weight, but if it is only watching your coloric intake and not exercising very much, then add something like JM's 30 Day Shred. My wife was in similar situation- losing weight, but not a lot in the way of clothes size (she does not wear tight fitting clothes either). I made a deal…
  • A bit old, I know, but no, the app does not.
  • One legged squat is down to a position where the upper leg is parallel to the ground (like sitting in a chair). A pistol is on one leg as above, but you go all the way down (until your butt touches your heel or the back of you ankle).
  • Today's workout was pretty much all one legged exercises. One legged squats, romainian split squats, side lunges and one legged hip extensions. Although my legs do not feel like jelly, I did get a good workout and my legs are feeling the burn. It seems that I am able to perform the one legged squats without issue so I may…
  • Today's workout was interval sets of one arm push ups with hands elevated, dive bombers with reversal, military press with feet elevated and full body weight dips. Today was a real butt kicker!! I decide to try to push for progression and did the one armed push ups on my knees with hands on the ground and doing intervals…
  • I'd like to know the answer to that question too! The fat seems to bee hanging on to the legs a the front of my abdomen across the navel area.
  • Another good workout day! The orders of the day called for ladders of One legged squats, back lunges, hip extensions and then supermans. I felt pretty strong throughout today's workout and am making great progress with th one legged squats. I think in a few weeks or so I will see if I can do any pistols. I am liking the…
  • On a couple other notes: My eating is not alway the best; this I know. I figured I'd be okay as long as I don't have many more days like yesterday. I was just too hungry and began to eat what ever was available in the office. Another thing I've been noticing, body fat and/or loose skin?? It's not exactly easy to see in the…
  • Crappy food day the yesterday. Okay with calories for the most part, but just too much junk (more than usual). Was also pretty tired - not enough sleep the last week. On to today...... Completed day 1 of week 2 today and killed it!! Today was a mixed ladder day consisting of one armed push ups (hands elevated), pull ups…
  • I'm at the beginning of week 2 and know there is one or two others that are about the same.

  • No workouts today! Just an 18 mile bike ride on trails on single speed dirt/jump bike. Tomorrow will most likely be a rest day.
  • Did a legs workout today consisting of a ladder of one legged squats, side lunges, one legged romanian dead lifts, and iron crosses. After this workout, since I didn't hit JM as I had planned this morning, I did a stapper of hop arounds, beat your boots and back lunges. In all it was good workout! Tomorrow i'll be hitting…
  • Today was ladders with one armed push ups (with hands elevated 19 inches from the ground), pull ups (i alternated grips with wide, narrow and hammer), military presses and let me ins. After the 36 minute work out I decide to punish myself a little more by doing a 27 minute interval set consisting of basketball push ups…
  • Decided I should be taking today as a rest day. Have to hit one armed push ups again tomorrow and want be sure I'm fully recovered from the last two days. Been running a deficit of about 17% so far this week. Might try to hit 20% by Sunday; depends on how the workouts go the rest of this week.
  • Today's leg workout consisted of four step ladders which included one legged squats, back lunges pushing up with forward leg, hip extensions, supermans and I finished it off with 3 sets of 12 toyotas. Also walk about 2 miles today. Tomorrow is an off day from YAYOG and will probably be a JM cardio day. Now, if only I could…
  • I log it as general circuit training. It seems to be pretty close to what the heart rate monitor says I burned.
