  • Hate going to the gym?? I will loan you my kids for the day and by the end of it you'll be begging to go work out just to give yourself a break! LOL. I don't look at the time spent exercising as 'work' as much as I consider it 'a break'. But I'm definitely not one of those 'I can run on the treadmill for 5 hours and not…
  • Pork. In any and every variety. I keep trying it new ways to see if maybe I like it...nope. It makes me want to gag. I feel the same way about sausage (any kind of sausage).
  • Me! Me! Earlier this month I was regularly going over my calories (not by a lot, but over nonetheless) and only exercising occasionally. I lost 7 pounds. Fast forward to the last few weeks where I've been logging everything, sticking with it, exercising my *kitten* off...and nothing. I gained a pound over the weekend. What…
  • I'm very, very picky! I found it works in my favor, though. I've convinced myself that I hate Burger King (where I used to eat 3x per week) and now the mere idea of it repulses me.
  • I track during workouts and if I do something that I normally don't do (walking around the zoo, for instance). Just make sure to back out calories you'd normally burn!
  • Try adding a snack--apples with peanut butter, or a slice of toast with peanut butter with a glass of milk. That should add on some calories with some protein.
  • It could be water weight. Did you exercise yesterday? On days after I exercise, I usually weigh a pound or two more from water retention. You'd have to eat 14000 calories over your limits to gain 4 pounds in one day, I totally wouldn't stress over it!
  • I agree--glad I'm not the only one this happened to! I was at 1400 for 2 lb/wk loss and 1600 for 1.5 lb/wk loss and I wasn't losing at all until I moved up to the 1600 cal/day level, now it's coming off steadily.
  • But then the bears probably wouldn't work.
  • When I was 9 months old, my pediatrician told my mom to switch me from formula to skim milk. :noway: I feel you! I was always a bit chubby as a child...not really fat, persay, but not skinny. When I was 9, I asked my mom if she thought I was fat and she said yes...I really 'felt' fat after that. Looking back at pictures, I…
  • I was just working on my October goals! My plans are as follows: Dietary: --One soda a day (cutting back from three, because I don't know if I'm ready to go cold-turkey yet!) --NO restaurant food! Well, ok, we do have one 'date night' planned and I'm going to totally blow my calories on that one day (Copelands and…
  • The 'broke college student' diet...I lost 60 pounds my freshman year of college because all I could afford to buy was boxes of popcorn and I'd stretch out for two meals and drink tap water with it. Unfortunately, I got a job in my second semester and not only did I gain back the weight, but it brought its friends along too.
  • You look fantastic!
  • Good morning everyone! So what sort of physical activity did you do yesterday??? I started level 1 of 30 Day Shred before bringing my daughter to dance, I made it through the first circuit before realizing it was time to go. After dropping her off, I went to the store and I parked in the furthest spot from the door and…
  • I wouldn't consider it cheating unless you're way over on your calories! If you are exercising too, I'd consider it eating your exercise cals!

  • Thanks for the suggestions! Tonight I am going to try some jumpy activities and aim for no jiggles! :)
  • I've been wearing a regular bra with two sports bras (one a DDD and one a DD) over it. I don't know the brand sports bra I'm using, whatever was in the cheap 3-pack from walmart, haha. I don't mind spending a little money, just not an exuberent amount (I'm thinking about my regular bra, which cost nearly $40, and cringing…
  • I think making the decision to get active was the toughest part, so far. Before, I'd say "I'll start tomorrow...no, I'll start Monday...well, we're going to be going to a birthday party on Friday and eating cake anyway, so I'll start NEXT Monday." Now, I feel sad if I don't get my little bit of 'me' time exercising every…
  • I started this almost a week ago. So far, it's only left me with sore muscles, but I did lose 2 lb since Sunday, so that could have factored into it. I really like it. It is very intense for my current activity level (read, I am VERY out of shape). Level one consists of a lot of jumping jacks, faux jumping rope, some sit…
  • Our favorites: -BBQ Chicken: Take shredded chicken, mix it with BBQ sauce and bake for 30-45 minutes to let it soak in. I eat it either in a tortilla with a little cheese as a wrap or just plain, depending on my calorie allotments for the day (a cup of chicken, a bit of bbq sauce--enough just to mix in with the chicken,…
  • I have a sportsline one from WalMart that I really like. It hasn't given me any problems and I've had it since March. It has a timer and calorie counter, but no chest strap. It has a button that you push to read your heart rate, which is good except for when I'm doing aerobics, since it sort of throws off my rythym, but…
  • As long as you're peddling. :)
  • Way to go! That's great that you stuck it out, good for you! I keep telling myself that I could be worse, I could be worse. Which I learned is true. My husband was laughing at me for not being able to finish level 1 on 30 Day Shred and I made him do it with me and he wimped out before I did. Not that it's saying much,…
  • That's amazing!!!
  • I'm glad I'm not alone! DVDs--I alternate between 30 Day Shred (which I have a hard time with), 10 minute solutions Dance, Crunch Cardio Salsa and Country Line Dancing. I was a dancer from childhood through high school, I've struggled with my weight since quitting it, but it's my favorite way to exercise, it's like having…
  • Things that help me: 1--Always drink ice water. I put a 20 oz bottle of water in the freezer for a few hours to make it slushy. 2--Keep a bottle of water in the fridge, every time you walk through, take a few long swigs. I usually get about 40 oz this way between going in and out of the house, stopping when I'm cooking…
  • I like my calves--they've very muscular and tight from 15 years of dance classes. I also like my boobs, I'll miss them when I lose weight.
  • That's fantastic!!!
  • I have a variety on my list...my favorite playlist has a few Eminem songs, a few Ke$ha songs and it ends with 'Eye of the Tiger' to give me that extra little umph to finish.
