My best exercise comes from dancing with my kids...for 10-20 minutes at a time we turn on music and just dance in the living room. My 7 year old and 2.5 year old love it! I also jump rope with my 7 year old. I try to round off the night with a walk on the treadmill or a 20-30 min dvd.

Goldfish crackers...lol...they've replaced all forms of fries/chips/etc. in my meals. And #2 is apples.

That's not necessarily true. I bike with a friend and we both wear HRMs to track calories burned---I consistently burn 225 cals in 15-17 minutes and she only burns around 150. We're different sizes and in different levels of fitness. As for the OP--I hit a point where I was gaining a bit instead of losing, and after I…

Thanks for the encouragement!!! I tried the '30 seconds more' thing last night and I made it completely through level one of 30DS and today I'm going to re-attempt C25K outdoors where I can jog in whatever speed I am capable of.

I don't know about the scienftific facts regarding this, but every time I get stuck trying to lose weight and I boost my calories up 100 or 200 a day, I see results quickly, so I've found that zig-zagging my calories works really well for me.

Happy Birthday! Do you have a bicycle? I burn around 200 calories for every 15 minutes I spend riding. :)
-
I got mine from walmart for around $35...It's a sportline watch that tracks time and calories. It isn't very fancy, but it does the job. :)

You should get a HRM, that way it will account for the extra work with the inclines, not just based on your time.

I don't think it is a bug, it has been like this for a few days and I feel great otherwise. I haven't had much meat since Saturday, maybe I will have some with dinner. Mfp says 1400 cals for a 2 lb per week loss. I get to that 99% of the time-- 1489 yesterday. 1413 today.
-
I wouldn't give it up completely, but I'd definitely not eat the whole pint--and if you do, you need to exercise to make up for it. Every Saturday we go out to a restaurant for lunch and I always go over my calories, so I know that every Saturday evening I have to exercie my butt off to make up for my splurging. You should…

I did level 1 again last night--second night doing it--and I didn't make it past the second circuit. I am so sore from the first night that every time I'd try to squat, the muscles just above my knees would hurt so bad that my legs would shake and I'd want to cry. I'm feeling better today, so I'm going to give it a go…

I like the 30 day shred--it's a challenge for me! Just a warning, if you're breastfeeding and highly endowed as a result, there are a lot of jumping jacks and jumping, so you may want to double up on a sports bra to keep the ladies from getting hurt.

If I absolutely have to eat at a fast food place, I do a hamburger happy meal from mcd's with water for my drink, a plain hamburger (no bun) and apples. It's 190 calories.
-
I log it all in the morning, and then I use that as a guideline for what to eat for the day. If I don't eat all of my meal, I come back and edit it, or if I decide I have enough calories left for a snack, I come back and add it then. It's a lot easier to stick to a plan than it is to realize you messed up somewhere after…

Agreed!!! If you don't normally walk, I'd count it as exercise. I sit at a desk 8 hours a day, so if I'm spending those 8 hours walking, I definitely track it, just back at your calories you would have burned.

I was wondering the same thing. I did level 1 Sunday night, and my legs were killing me yesterday! I wanted to cry when I was doing it again last night...I couldn't finish level 1 again last night, I only made it about halfway through the second circuit before I just coudn't go anymore. I'm going to give it another shot…

Way to go! Break up letters, that's a really great idea! I should do that as well. The first two weeks are the hardest to stay on track, but if you can make it through those 14 days, you will find you don't even WANT to go back to eating all of that junk. Good for you!!
-
That's because you do it every day and are accustomed to it. As far as carrying wood, since that's not a daily activity I'd say it definitely counts! I only clean house (scrub floors, toilets, showers, etc.) once a week and I definitely break a sweat and get my heart pumping so I count it.

You look AMAZING!!!!!!!! That's absolutely fantastic!

Hi! I'm Jennifer, started off at 272 and I'm at 265!

I started the DVD last night and I only made it through the second circuit before I just couldn't do anymore! I had just finished an exhausting bike ride...tonight I'm going to do the video first, then the ride! Starting info: Weight: 265 Waist: 50.5 Hips: 56 Those are the only measurements I have handy--I'll try to…

We still keep junk in the house, but I am no longer tempted by it. I had to wean myself into being away from temptation, though--I started off buying the kids snacks I wasn't a huge fan of, so it was easy to say no. Now that I no longer crave snack cakes and cookies, I can buy the things I used to absolutely love without…

Breastfeeding burns between 500-600 calories per day, so I'd add that to your net when figuring out how many calories to eat.
-
We like to do homemade pizzas--we make individual ones for my husband, myself, and each of the kids. We load on calorie-heavy food for the kids (my daughter is a competitive dancer and gymnast and burns a LOT of calories!) and then less for us. I usually use dough for everyone else's but a tortilla for mine. 1 tortilla is…

I tend to eat more on weekends--we are usually out and about and we eat out and I find myself snacking more. I still hold myself accountable for it, though, and try to keep tabs on what I eat and how much. I can't weigh my food to be exact, so I guestimate it and I feel I'm usually pretty accurate. I try to still make…

OMG, I love you! I love PB...actually only started liking it since dieting, which is odd in itself, but I've been diving those Jiff 'to go' into two portions to eat with apples and they kill my breakfast calories. I'm going to give it a try, thanks for putting it out there!

My weight goes up the week before ToM and then drops during. I am always so hungry the day or two leading up to the day I start and then when I'm on. And the healthy snacks don't always cut it!! Drink lots of water, it helps!
-
Agreed 100% Plus sized--the people who have to shop in the 'plus sized' section of stores, 16 and bigger. I'm in a 22, which I just call fat. I long for the days of 16!

I think that eating in moderation IS a lifestyle change. If I used to eat until I was so full that I was nauseous and now I eat a quarter of that, I have made a change. I moved from binge eating to eating healthy amounts, and it's a big accomplishment. It may not be 100% healthy if I'm eating junk, but it most definitely…

That's AWESOME!!!!!!! I can't wait to be non-obese!!!
