  • Every week I yell at the TV when they don't send her home, haha!
  • First off, enjoy yourself, a few meals that are a big heavier on calories won't undo all of your hard work. Try a little bit of everything and stop eating when you're full. Don't deprive yourself, because that will make it that much harder to stick with! Moderation, moderation, moderation! And if you know you'll be in a…
  • I would go with the descriptions next to the MFP database--if you're walking fast, I'd go with the corresponding mph for fast walking. I'm short with short legs, so I use that to estimate rather than the 3.0 mph I know I'm walking, and it's pretty close to my HRM. You can also take your heart rate the old fashioned way and…
  • Losing weight is 80% diet, 20% exercise. It definitely can be done--all you need is a calorie defecit, it doesn't matter where it comes from. I hope your surgery goes well!
  • Bad Reputation - Joan Jett Lose Yourself - Eminem Tik Tok - Ke$ha Are You Gonna Be My Girl - Jet Break Stuff - Limp Bizkit
  • I try to stay within 50 calories of my goal, sometimes more sometimes less.
  • This is me too! My (new) philosophy is that you need a 3500 calorie defecit to lose a pound, so as long as you get that during the week you'll lose. I've been working a bit harder during the week to maintain that defecit and I eat what I want on weekends, as long as I'm under my maintenance calories. Eating 100 less…
  • I try to order something relatively healthier when I go out to eat, and I account for it on my food log and try to make up for it in exercise. I try to only eat out on Zumba days.
  • Bump. I'm interested in this too...I usually go to bed between 11-11:30 and waking up anytime before 6:30 puts me in a foul mood for the rest of the day.
  • When I first got my HRM, I was riding my bike often and MFP estimated I would burn 175 cals in 15 minutes. My HRM said I was burning 235 in 15 minutes. Now that I've been exercising regularly, my HRM and MFP are nearly exact in estimates (within 5 cals!). I can imagine that the more I exercise, soon MFP will be…
  • People who think they're better parents than you are just because they do things differently. Some people have no concept of 'what works for one child may not work for another'.
  • Agreed! One high-calorie meal won't undo the 19.5 pounds that I've lost, so no sense obsessing over it.
  • We feed a family of 7 on about $400 a month and nearly everything we make is something that's quick and easy. Here's some examples of what we eat: Quesadillas -- A tortilla (or two, if you're really hungry), .25-.3 cup of cheese, and some sort of meat (I usually go for pepperoni), folded over and baked in the oven at 350…
  • I am very far from my weight goal--I have at least 80, probably closer to 100, pounds to go. My hips are at 52 inches and I am 5'2.
  • I'm not one who really eats when I'm sad or stressed, I'm a bored-eater. So when I find myself wanting to snack on something, I try to do something else instead. If I finish my activity and I'm still hungry, then I go ahead and get something to eat then. I've also started reading a lot more now that I'm watching what I…
  • I agree, it does help put things in perspective for those 'I've completely derailed because I ate a snickers bar' moments. I try to eat healthier than I was before, but there are days where I eat total junk and I'm still losing. As a matter of fact, I forgot my breakfast this morning and I ate a serving of Nilla Wafers…
  • You can estimate how many calories you'll be eating, just serve yourself small portions and do a bit of extra exercise during the week. I wouldn't advise fasting, since then you're likely to eat more because you'll be so hungry.
  • Zumba on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Pushups/Situps on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at work (20 reps of 10). Bicycle riding on Saturday and Sunday evenings (20 minutes minimum). Walking on Monday afternoons (30-45 minutes of alternating walking and jogging). I've fallen off track this week from Zumba being cancelled…
  • I exercise during my lunch break, as well as try to do a DVD when the kids go to bed. Also, when hubby is home I try to exercise extra to make up for time lost. Can you take your baby on a walk in the stroller? You may not be able to go as fast, but you can still get something done.
  • That's why moderation is important. I've had 1-3 pieces of candy every day (logged) since Halloween and am down 4 pounds this week. Candy is evil and addictive though! It's a good thing Halloween is only once a year.
  • I made it through almost 2 months before the non-stop exercise made me ready to quit. I switched to 3 long exercise sessions per week and that has really made a difference--not only with my willpower to stick to it, but with weight loss as well. I had been stuck for 10 days at the same weight, and since not exercising…
  • I'm scared of mice, snakes and roaches.
  • I used to love this show when I was younger!! I haven't watched since 1997-1998 though, so I can't be of any help. Although once and awhile I'll be flipping through channels and I'll see it...and recognize most of the cast even though it's been 12 years!
  • For breakfast I had a mini Butterfinger and Snickers from my daughter's Halloween bag, for lunch I'm going to have some goldfish crackers and either some baked chicken strips or a peanut butter and banana sandwich. For dinner I'm having baked chicken with rice and gravy, corn and sweet peas. I have apples for snacks, but I…
  • Day 3 and I *really* want some fries! I keep having to tell myself no, no, no, no, no...I can do this!
  • I have 5 kids and 4 nights out of the week we have hours upon hours of extra-cirricular activities to go to and from. On Sunday I boil chicken breasts and shred them to use for other things--on homemade pizzas, in salad, in quesadillas, chicken tacos, etc. I also make a lot of quick meals--tacos, for example, take less…
  • My personal goal is to not eat anything that I didn't make myself at all for the month of November. No meals in fast food or restaurants. The only exception is on the 19th when we go see Harry Potter---I'm totally going to have a coke and popcorn at the movies! But that's it!
  • Haha, it would take you a whole week?! Give me the weekend, I can take care of it for you!
