you would be wise to see a physical thearapist for specific exercises. core strength will help also ie pilates, tai chi,yoga. be aware that freq back injuries accumalate and can be as devastating as a major injury.

as chrisdavey said some static stretches are good. also so are antiinflamatories ie ibuprofen advil etc. they way you discribed your soreness makes me think of medial epicondylitis. google it and the exercises to help it . if this persists and/or gets worse see your doc. good luck.

I think that if you follow melliebee's advice and set the goal on here for 1.5 lbs a week you will do fine. Also like gymrat says you need to make time for exercise. I like to buy the little snack size chocolates and eat one after dinner for a treat. that way i don't feel too deprived. but the rest of the day is quality…
