  • You find 2 boxes of christmas chocolates unopened in a cupboard you had forgotten you even had, and the only reason you had gone to the cupboard..to stash the valentines chocolates as well! You swop 2 slices of toast for 80g grapes, a low fat yoghurt and a mini babybel! and are happy with your snack
  • Mashed banana, chopped almonds and cinamon Stewed apple and cinamon with a half tsp brown sugar Desicated coconut and nutella (for when i must have chocolate in my day) Caramel peaches (peaches i cook in the oven with a touch of brown sugar and butter)
  • The only excercise i have been doing is walking. It is free and i need very little that i dont already have to do it, i also get the extra benefits of all that fresh air. I walk in all weathers and i vary my speeds from day to day. Some days i powerwalk a shorter distance some days a longer distance and other days i walk…
  • The bottom half clothes, skirts and trousers have mostly gone in the bin as they were falling apart, if they were okay they went to the charity shop. The top halves i am still wearing because i really cant afford to replace stuff until i reach my goal. When it gets warm enough for t-shirts i will go and buy a few in the…
  • I think it takes time to get past this point, just log it and move on to the next better day, dont let your ex influence the great work you are doing. I dread the school holidays for the same reason the stress of 2 children bickering all day usually sends me to the junk food but yesterday for the first time since i started…
  • Before i started logging on MFP i really believed calorie counting didnt work for me. I have never stuck to loosing weight for this long before. It doesnt feel like a chore, it isnt difficult and i am still amazed by continued weight and inch loss each week by doing something so simple. I think you have to be at the point…
  • I eat pasta at least twice a week (and with PCOS i am apparently supposed to avoid the carbs!) and it hasnt caused me any problems. For me this is a lifestyle change so i am eatign the foods i love and watching my portion sizes, i am adding a lot more veggies to my pasta dishes so that i stay fuller longer. Besides as we…
  • Yes exactlly the same for me, it usually reverts back to the lower weight or maybe a bit lower after about 10 minutes
  • 5'6" and 175lbs MFP has me set at 1520 for a 1lb per week weight loss. I always make sure i eat a net of 1200 minimum, which means i am eating back 300-400 calories from excercise. I am loosing 0.5-1lb per week doing this which i am pleased with as i have PCOS
  • An unopened container of Cadburys chocolate Philadelphia  The best is all my lovely yoghurts and the fruit
  • I have learnt i can make better choices and not feel like i am starving. I have learnt even when the scales dont move it doesnt mean nothing is happening and not to give up, this is huge for me as i have always given up before when the scales stop. And most importantly i have learnt i do not have to eat completely…
  • Mmmm that sounds really good, we love tofu but i am always looking for new ways to prepare it, thanks
  • Hi I have PCOS and i havent cut my carbs low since i joined MFP, i am aware that low carbs can be good for PCOS weightloss but pasta is one of the few foods my 2 small children will eat plenty of so i am working around it and it hasnt done me any harm, maybe the weight loss could be faster if i did cut them but i am happy…
  • Grumpy children because it didnt snow overnight as forecast! But then a nice walk once i dropped them off at school and a walk this afternoon with my youngest so much better
  • Oh thank goodness i am not alone, i was beginning to think i was weird
  • I am also explaining it from the point of view of getting myself healthier. My children are 4 and 6 and we have given them the choice of where we take our familly vacation this year, a beach holiday in France or a hillwalking holiday in the UK. They chose the second option! This has made it easy for me to approach it from…
  • I knew it was time for a change when i could happily sit and eat a whole block of marzipan in a sitting :noway:
  • Porridge with the flesh of a baked bramley apple added to it, sprinkle of cinamon and a little syrup for sweetness. Very filling and full of fibre from the apple. I used half water and milk today
  • Some sort of prawn dim sum (steamed) followed by Tofu and rice noodle soup in a miso broth. ~And then fresh fruit.
  • I believe that uk size 14-16 is actually the average UK size at the moment so they are trying to appeal to the largest audience. A size 16 may well be in the acceptable BMI range as well so not necessarily overweight
  • At the moment i wouldnt mind someone noticing that i have lost weight! I mentionned MFP to a friend yesterday because she wasnt sure about joining weight watchers becase of the money, told her not to bother and check this site out and mentionned how much i had lost and she gave me a look that said "you have lost weight?"…
  • BBC website suggests they have been bought and 60 stores will still remain so you might be in luck. Otherwise M&S or bravissimo are the way to go
  • I have a simillar problem and needed new jeans recently. I tried on a pair of each style of jeans in M&S in my new size, some i couldnt even button up some were just an odd shape but the ones that fit perfectly, were snug, did up and didnt gape at the waist, i could breathe and didnt give me a muffin top were their "value"…
  • My hubby joined a few months ago and like others have said he only has theone friend, me, and he never uses the message boards. He logs foodwhen he remembers, i have noticed he logs better when we eat things he can scan with his phone, otherwise he asks me that the meals we eat together were as total calories in my diary…
  • I suppose the real issue is "I've paid £12.99 for this, so I'm going to get my money's worth". I would look at it this way, £12.99 wouldnt actually get you too much in most restaurants nowadays anyway so you definelty dont have to eat a huge portion to get your moneys worth. Just have smaller portions of the "bad for you…
  • We are quite simillar :-) SW: 198 CW: 176 GW: 154 -140 i will see when i reach the first weight! Age:37 Height: 5'6

  • Jamie Oliver - he was very rude and arogant Si and Dave the Hairy Bikers - they are absolutely lovely And i once shared a lift with Raymond Blanc!
  • Definelty, my mum has a set of plates she was given when she got married in 1970 and she uses them for my children when they visit for meals as the are bigger than side plates but smaller than modern dinner plates. I also remember the walking everywhere thing as well, we only had one car as did so many famillies and it was…
  • I think sometimes when someone has lost a lot of weight and changed their shape dramatically which i am pretty sure the amount you have lost has done it alters how someone sees us, they could be looking at you and thinking that the amount you have lost must surely make you a good weight for your height, after all it is…
